WD on iPad, launches then stuck on 'connecting...'

I've just bought the walking dead on my iPad 2.

The game launches, I tap to continue, then I get a message saying 'Connecting..' and nothing else.

I am connected to the Internet via wireless which is working fine.

    Connected to Internet via WiFi, the problem persists :(
    I can only get to the main menu by entering flight mode first.
    This needs to be fixed - there shouldn't be an online requirement to launch a single player game in the first place!

    Just turn off your wifi connection it should run fine...

    Yeah, but this is certainly not a permanent solution. I still want to be able to recieve emails, messages and facetime calls.
    Not being able to get to the main menu while being online is kind of a big deal...
