I said don't shoot, the noise will attract the walkers.

not like it matters when Mark, in a kneel position, misses a stationary target and walkers come anyways!

I told him not to shoot! Like duh! I wanted to go back and check out the other options but never got around to it... I wonder what happens if you tell him to shoot lol.

    What did you do?
  • edited August 2012
I said risk the noise, because we need food..but I had feeling that he would miss the target anyway..idiot.. xD

I heard mark used to be a hunter.... Then he took an arrow in the shoulder.

i picked the middle ground answer first when he shoots anyway and misses

then i picked don't shoot it the bird flies off

It's more of an arrow job, the bullet would take big chunk off the bird with it. So don't shoot.

Agreed. That bird would just explode if Mark hit it. What kind of rifle are they using anyways? It it a .22 LR? Does not look like any kind of weapon one would find at an AF base.

Sporting goods store in Macon ? + AFB. Just how much weaponry would they have after looting those places, even had enough spare to train.

Kenny and Mark had hunting rifles.
Bandit was holding Lee's future shotgun. Oh yeah.
Andy's gun, if you lost in a brawl.

Lee gets a shotgun? Now you're talking! I'm a fan of stealth but when stealth fails I like my plan B to include firepower and lots of it.

Sorry, it was just a wishful speculating. He shoots that bandit with a shotgun and would need some serious firepower for the trip. I don't think he would be able to hunt with it much, maybe a crossbow would be better ?

i thought lee used a rifle on the bandit in the ep3 preview...
  • edited August 2012
Yes, he shot that bandit (who had a shotgun) with a rifle.
Then he can get a chainsaw in the Save Lots, because he shops smart and saves lots... OMG Lee is an African-American version of Ash O.O

I told Mark not to shoot. It would attract zombies, and besides: a bird for one bullet?

O.O Larry after the army. All that survival training finally paid off.
Wait, what were they trying to shoot in the forest anyway? Lilly didn't even ask if they captured anything.

This whole business of going out to the woods to hunt for food seems strange to me. Maybe because I'm a city person, but my idea of hunting for food during a ZA is to have Lee, Carley and Mark load up in Kenny's truck and go to the nearest interstate highway. Find a Safeway (or in this case a SAVE-LOTS) truck and move in with fangs out. Drop any walkers nearby, open the roll up door(use Lee's axe to cut the lock if it even has one). Throw the rotten food to the left and right of our truck and anything canned just push it into the truck. Have Carley keep killing walkers to prevent them from massing up while Lee and Mark loot with all haste then get the heck out of there and RTB (return to base).

Yeah good luck...try get past the build up of cars and the zombies still lurking along the highway/trapped in cars then the fact that everyone in the area would have already thought "lets stock up on food from the nearest supermarket" so that means the food is most likely all gone and is a deathtrap waiting to happen...large concentrations of people rushing around at the start (or at anytime really) of zombie apocalypses never really works out, so you've just risked the groups shooters and best protectors for a few cans that most probably have been nabbed...I think going out hunting was the best bet, but obviously if you had to I'd just start munching on larry, he's got the most fat, he's the oldest, all that rage might give him a smokey flavour? Plus he tried to kill lee! Vengeance through digestion!

Small town like macron may not have a grocery store in town, and driving 30 miles to the nearest wal-mart is a daunting task.
  • edited August 2012
Truck is too noisy and after 3 months there woldn\t be much left in a store of a small town. That\s why raiding the AF base was a smarter move.

Staying put, taking no risks, running out of food and making Larry burgers may appeal to someone like Lilly (except for the Larry burgers ofcourse). But I think even in a ZA, fortune favors the bold. I mean what's the plan anyways...hunker down and grow crops? I think the best plan is a nomadic hunter/gatherer style that includes mobility. Like that raid on the AF base. Three months of food in one hit. Not too shabby.

You people do know that there is no Zombie genre in walking dead universe, so they wouldn\t know how to react or what to do in that kind of situation.

True but it only takes a short period of time to learn all you really need to know - don't get bit and aim for the head. Had that down by mid episode 1.

Anyways, all I'm saying is that going back to basics would be tough for a city person like myself. I suppose I could learn to dress a fish or an animal but only a few months into a collapse of civilization I'd be more apt to "hunt" for vehicles from grocery stores or pick fruit from any orchards we spotted.

I never said don't go out hunting...how would you survive? Apart from larry...and yeah growing crops would be a pretty good idea. I'd let you go and try fight the bandits/zombies, I'd say hunt and ration until you ran out of larry then go onto a kenny/katjaa family bucket followed by a duck salad and some side of doug. This is za we eat everyone and everything but ourselves and Clem for irrational reasons Of course

he he. You didn't say you had Doug with you. Everyone else is just a snack but Doug...now that's a meal. You'll be fine.

O.o Then why not just start eating vitamin pills ? Not healthy for the long run, but it would keep you alive for a while.
