Larry and Kenny [EP1 SPOILERS]

EP2 Spoilers marked

So, I just re-played Episode 1, sided with Larry during the Duck Debate and Kenny went all crazy on me. Could only be calmed down by Katjaa, his wife. Larry, during the Debate, showed a hugely less dislike towards me than compared with how much of an asshole he is when I side with Kenny. I get him the pills. I say that he is a good man. I'm nice to his daughter.

And yet, at the end, he is the one who chooses to try to kill me. And Kenny is, for some reason, rescuing the guy who thought that killing his son would be a good idea just half an hour ago.

Who else thinks that it would be sweet to side with and befriend Larry?
Even if just for one episode, his unfortunate demise considered...
Sure, he knows that I'm a murderer and wants to protect his daughter, but I think that, after being nice to both him and his daughter, he should be able to consider not killing me.
Could have carried over perfectly into Episode 2, with Larry not being a concern to the writers anymore after that, making it less complicated.

Or, now that I think of it, Kenny might have just thought of Clementine, letting me live for the sake of not devastating her. So that's another perspective.

What's yours?

I have never heard/seen any of that. I too after playing ep 2 went back and played a anti Kenny game. But it more or less turned out the same, I got tripped up on the "we reason with him" bit.

Actually so what would have been the "right" option to pick if I wanted to be Pro Larry?

Well, I just went with the idea of throwing Duck out as fishbait every time I could. Went silent on some choices that would leave Kenny even the least bit of sympathy.

    you have 4 options

    reason with him (neutral)

we kick his ass (pro ken)

the third option (pro larry) pick that....

    silence ?

If Larry would of been around for a longer it's conceivable that he may of changed his mind towards Lee and trusted him more, but only after half an hour of meeting a man he knows to be a murderer seems a bit much. Would Kenny of come back for Lee if he had just seen a discarded newspaper detailing Lee's crime when he went outside to clear the way?
Would I have punched a stranger who I knew to be a murderer and left him to a certain death? No

Would I have risked my life and returned to save that murderer? probably not.

Larry was an abrasive asshole but I understood his reasoning about Lee but not so much about Duck.

I personally hope Telltale have set definitive personalities and traits on their characters from the start, which will start to show more in the upcoming episodes. If I get screwed over by a person,so be it, an option to keep someone happy and on my side throughout the whole season,by choosing a dialogue option, seems too gamey for me.

I think his character was just a dick, he'd never try killing you again. But I could see him in like a crazy situation were hes about to die trusting you to look after lilly when shes dead. (Even though lilly doesant need looked after)

Yeah, it's just really hard to get in good with Larry. If you side with him/Lilly towards any event, he will still hate you. His hatred of you is what spans his outcome in the meat locker.

Does his line ever change from "You must really hate me"? I know he adds to it if you're really mean to him.
