Is TT dragging out release dates to coincide with press events?
I understand the game is in certification process at this point, but this is becoming a pattern. This happened with episode 2 and is now looking like it's going to happen with episode 3.

like; yes it seems that way, but i don't think it's on purpose (my thoughts)
pure coincidence..
conspiracies make babies cry..
What extra press? I've never even heard of PAX until they said they were going to be there.
People who want to buy it already have the first two episodes and are waiting for the third.
New customers, I would think, is a group TTG would want to go and buy the first episode so how is holding out the third for this event going to help?
All the real news and reviews happens with the first episode. The press is kind of apathetic after that.
And all the bad PR they are getting can't be welcomed or worthwhile.
It just doesn't make sense to me from a business perspective. And they are a business in the end.
even i have heard of PAX and i don't care what it is because i live in England, it will definitely gain them more sales to have an exclusive there, so i can't blame them for doing it, but that doesn't mean i can't be annoyed by it
I guess I'm just in the dark about PAX.
Still, how will it gain them more sales?
If they had the game ready, they could sell all three.
And why risk not getting approved in time for PAX?
If ep 3 isn't released this week, will it disprove this theory?
there would be a lot of news about PAX on gaming websites, if a game launches at PAX it is likely to get a lot of the coverage, a lot of coverage will tell people about the game and inform/remind people to buy it, this means more sales
Yeah, they're doing the same for State of Decay. I read somewhere on their main website that they may be putting in a playable demo of the alpha for the game.
Speaking of, there's an Episode 3 story trailer now and its pretty sweet (but some might consider it spoilery).
that it is
well if we are being mean, its only because we need attention
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my thread, Jake. It's been a long time since there have been any red names on these forums. I'm glad you came here and debunked my theory, but like the previous date we are still left in the dark. Can you please explain why TT is failing to deliver the product it promised to deliver in the time frame they did. I understand "periodically" is the new release plan, but what went wrong? Why has this process turned into such a cluster fuck?
thanks for the sneak peak, but I'm going to have to refrain. I don't wanna spoil the amazing story you guys have been giving us. Thanks again.
Seriously? It took him saying, "No, we're not doing that," for you to conclude they aren't when I gave logical reasons they wouldn't?
Anyone notice all the TellTale staff that post in here are from California?
I've seen San Francisco, San Rafael.. I grew up in San Anselmo, Marin County area so I know those guy's are all just hanging out casually passing the hookah between coding.
Staff guy: "dude, dude, dude.. what if we make the St. John's cannibles?? hahaha "giggles like lil girls"
Staff guy: "yea man, and we'll feed them Mark's leg's!! OMG hahahahaaa
Doug: "and, and since their starving, they stumble across a shroom patch and are all trippin, seeing a Elmo zombie!! hahahhaha
All TT Staff: "Shut up Doug!
Walking Dead has more dialog for a 2-3 hour episode than our 4 hour Sam & Max episodes have, just because there's so much more variation. On top of that, animating and acting drama is more time consuming than comedy. With comedy it's about the timing, but with drama the timing is just the base, on top of which you need good facial acting and cinematic choices. There's just more, and even with our big (for Telltale standards) team, it took us longer than we thought, especially with the earlier episodes when we didn't have our footing as strongly.
Also we can't resist a good press event.
Fixed your post.
Not really..
In my game, Carley is dead!
