Hey there. Im a bit short on time so dunno if this problem has occurred elsewhere. Just downloaded ep3, went to load it, and when i hit play its asking me if i want to generate random story decisions for skipped episodes.

I played the first two episodes fully. I dunno if this is a bug or what. has anyone else encountered this? What can the solution be?

They are probably talking about the PSN release in the US. The next will most likely be the PC users who bought the game over the TTG website.

Please make sure you're following the exact steps to load that episode and import your choices, as outlined on our support page below. If it's asking you to generate random choices, that indicates that the save you've selected may not have completed data from the previous two episodes on it.

    XBOX/PC is tomorrow:

"August 29th for 400 MS Points as DLC within the original The Walking Dead XBLA release, and also on PC/MAC as part of a Season Pass on the Telltale Games Store, as well as through our partners on Steam, Origin, Amazon PC Downloads, GameStop, and GameFly."

There are plenty of loyal customers on PSN, after all The Walking Dead Game is number 1 in top sellers on PSN.

And Xbox got Episode 2 TWO days before PSN, we're only getting Episode 3 ONE day ahead.

That FAQ doesnt seem to cover my situation. The closest is regarding save from ep 1 not carrying over, but the troubleshooting is for PC im obviously on PS3. Is there a way to tell if my ep 2 is caught up? I restarted it just to make sure, and it starts me off from at the very end where the group stumbles onto the car.

I played it out again just to be sure, and waited till the credits ended, but i still got the message. I ask again...is there a way to tell if my episodes saved properly so i can start the next?

Same thin happened when Ep2 was released.. Xbox got it first, the other formats complained. It''s just a day later and if you look at it this way, it's fair!

becides, it's not TT's fault.. PSN does thier thing on Tuesdays, Xbox on Wed.

annnddd!!! it lets all the PSN people discover and report any bug's so by the time we get it on Xbox and PC, they should all be resolved! :p

    Leo,

I am getting the exact same error. Just like you, I reloaded my save and it started me in the forest, I finished it for a second time, and this time I allowed the credits to completely roll, and kick me back to the main screen.

Still, I can not load episode 3 without allowing it to erase all my choices.

I downloaded it from PSN directly because the in game downloads said it was still un released... It says ep 3 is there and I can play, but I will need to forfeit anything ive done so far, which I am not willing to do..

So my question is, is there a work around, or am I stuck playing something different until this gets patched in a month?

I am having the same problem. I played through episodes 1 and 2 completely on the ps3, but when I start on episode 3 I also get the message about generating random decisions. It is like the game is not saving. It will only let me continue over and over from the part in episode 2 where you are walking back to the motel from the farm. Could we please get some assistance with this. I do not want to start all the way over.

This has also happened to me on Xbox 360. Got the question about it creating random answers when I first started Episode 3, I obviously replied no.

Also tried replaying the end of episode 2 again.

When I then select Episode 3 it starts me off at the beginning of Episode 1. It has done this twice now. It has also auto saved over 2 of my game files. All 3 games are Episode 1 now.

Looks like I will have to start the whole thing over again. :(

Tried starting Episode 3 again, got the generate random answer question again. Said yes this time, still started me off at the beginning of Episode 1.
