Most Suprising Events From EP3?

edited August 2012 in The Walking Dead
This episode was amazing if you don't care about the characters, but the worst one yet if you do. For me:

1. Katjaa and Duck dying, I wasn't expecting duck to be bit, I expected if he were to die he would be eaten. Katjaa committing scuicide.

2. Carley dying. I knew she was going die eventually, since it was eitherDoug or Carley, it would require to much effort by TTG to develope both characters. But the way she died so abruptly, and after I thought a Lee+Carley thin would happen, especially after carley kissed lee.

So many people fought Kenny. Wtf

So wait, is there no way to save Carly? Cause, yeah that needs to happen.

Have to admit I didn't see Lilly killing Carley, I would have bet money that it was Kenny if anyone (that was killed by Lilly). That is sort of the huge turn off for me with the walking dead. You really can't get attached to any character that isn't named Rick.

Oh, dude! Daaamn, I knew I shouldn't have clicked in this topic, but I did it. Damn curiosity!
But, since I am here anyways, Doug dies too?
  • edited August 2012
Well since they are "this or that" characters I'm sure Doug dies.

As characters come, some must go. A hobo, white guy and black woman came into the group. You have to chpose between the two, who to sae, save the dude, both will live.

Uhm. Not cool. I mean, sure, they indeed are " This or that" characters, but would be cool if there were a difference between they importance.

What I really want to know is who's the traitor. But I guess I have to control myself. I am gettin' out of here boys, g'luck!

yeah gotta get use too characters dien even kirkman will tell you that in one of his episodes its what sells his books people get too attached and he up and kills a character kinda what makes walking dead so damn good a thrilling there is no superhero or character with a big hero complex loke most storys he will kill them off hell he hasnt killed rick off but ricks moral compass is out of wack.

Eh, while you see a thrilling story, I see a strong reason not to invest a ton of interest in any characters (i.e. Tyreese, Glenn, Dale (on TV).)

At least now we have some sort of idea of how Lilly ended up in the comics.

    1. Katjaa's suicide and Duck being put down from the Zombie bite can be avoided depending choices made. Won't spoil it, but it can be done and avoided. So point one is not something that *has* to happen.

    2. Carly's death was...well, really just felt like a cheap way of getting rid of a character to open things up for the new characters. Normally in Kirkman's graphic novel when a well established, and liked, character dies it feels senseless, but it does add to the grim dramatic narrative. Carly's death just felt like a cop out.

Really believe it was a failing on TT's part that they felt unable/unwilling to continue to develop either Carly or Doug. I understand that the game isn't a Triple-A title with a Mass Effect 3 like budget, but it really did just feel like a lazy, empty kill. This is, of course, just my opinion.

As for Kenny, no one can say he did not have it coming from the start. Really a tragic character.

I felt incredibly sorry for Kenny by the time the episode was over. Honestly, I'll give TT credit for that. I hated Kenny after the end of E2, but having to shoot Duck turned it around.

Would you mind spoiling 1.? I'm interested to know what i'd have to do differently.

I literally signed up just now so I could ask if we could save Katjaa/duck. Can someone please PM me or just explain it in here how I can save them?

    I would be extremely appreciative.

Would like to know how to

Mine are the two obvious ones: when Lilly killed Carley (my jaw literally dropped) and when Katjaa killed herself. I was kind of expecting Katjaa to die in this episode though, but for some reason I wasn't expecting Carley to die. Or at least not like that.

I'd be pretty annoyed if it wasn't. I find her character much more interesting because she was in the comics and the thing she did. She got very little character development in the comics so having her in this game was really clever.

How is it a huge turn off? People fucking die. It's a zombie apocalypse. Telltale isn't going to let someone live all the episode just because you are bonding with them.

Carley getting shot shocked the shit out of me, I also didn't mean to fight Kenny, but I just let him beat me up, I can't imagine how hard it was for him to go through that

Are you serious right now? Like legit? Have you experienced and made the right choices to avoid Katjaa's suicide and Dick being put down? Don't spoil it, just tell me if you did.

With what choices can it be avoided? Specifics please, if you've tested it out and she didn't die for you.
