[Ep. 3] Clementine: Super-Soldier

Hello, I'm in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. I have this wonderful little companion who's just been an absolute angel so far, and now I want to optimize her into the ideal killing machine. Tell me, what choices did you make when you were training the little rascal?

Okay, I think we can all agree chopping up her smelly locks was a good idea. High-five, Chuck! So, no debate there.

HOWEVER! There were other choices I wasn't so confident about.

1) When given the dialogue options while teaching her how to use the gun, did you tell her to shoot for the head (zombie weakspot!) or did you emphasize accuracy by telling her to breathe in before shooting? I chose the latter option, but now I'm so conflicted! Will she need to know to go for the head? I'm at a loss.

2) When given the dialogue options after wasting those three zombies (who never stood a chance against my adorable death-dealer and me, btw ) in the abandoned station, did you tell her to "always know that there could be something dangerous" or that she should "never be afraid?" Again, I chose the latter option, I figured that I could make her my sadistic berserker warrior capable of unhesitatingly flinging into bloody action... But now I'm wondering if I should've warned her to be more cautious? Will she kamikaze in a blaze of glory into a mob of zombies because it was irresponsible to tell her to be fearless?

Also, I know that there are third options for each of these dialogue checks above. I can't remember them though, so they must not have been important

I told her to breath being that i shoot guns sometimes you aim for the body for live people. Head shots that some super hero stuff if she can be cool under pressure she shall diff hit her shots:D

I picked aim for the head, I think she said she already knew that. Its fuzzy though dont quote me on that.

be steady breathe and everything we do is dangerous

    aim for the head

    dont be afraid

seems like good lessons for a new walker-hunter to me

Aim for the head so you don't damage the meat.

Aim for the Lilly, if you see her.

I said aim for the head & everything is dangerous

I told her to be steady with the gun instead of aim for the head. Now though, I'm starting to think that the "Aim for the head" was a more suitable option, because as you said, It's a zombies weak spot.

At the abandoned station I also told Clem to "Never be afraid", but I'm also starting to regret that choice a little too, because if I chose the other option, it might make her more aware of her surroundings in future episodes.

aim for the lilly, if you see her.

    Hahaha yeah

It's not the zombies you have to worry about in this game though. It's other people, that's why I told her to breathe and that everything we do is dangerous.

I didn't realise the haircut was an option, but agreed - you gotta be safe.

I told her the breathing thing - I figured the headshot thing was something she could be told at any time and wasn't particularly relevant to the target practice - I know nothing about shooting, so I picked the breathing thing over the trigger thing purely because it sounded good and I had a feeling I heard it before, but I did have a bit of a nagging feeling in the back of my head that I was burdening her with sniper stuff that wasn't really appropriate and neglecting the basics.

In the station I went with "everything is dangerous". It seemed the most relevant given that we'd just been ambushed, and I certainly didn't want that to happen again.

Oh, and given how Duck and Ben have acted around dangerous machinery, did anyone else wince when Lee made as if to hand the gun over after telling Clem not to be afraid but before telling her about trigger discipline?

I told her to breathe and that she has to learn to pull the trigger. Telling her not to be afraid seems kind of worthless because she's going to be afraid no matter what. So I told her that she just has to do it.

I told her she needs to pull the trigger because that's exactly what she didn't do. During the practice I think I told her to about breathing.

I told her to hold her breath and it seemed to work out well for her. I think the whole group knows by now to shoot for the head anyway.

I also told her to pull the trigger because I think fear is a good thing in this situation that will help keep her alive. Reinforcing the idea that everything is dangerous was also a good option, imo...but while I think she's already aware of the danger, pulling the trigger is something she didn't do and that can't happen next time she's facing a walker.

Two words - trigger discipline. Told Rambet to squeeze the trigger.

I went with the "could be something dangerous" option. I still think stealth is the best option and we both need to be more alert.

I am concerned though, group firepower is very low at the end of e3. Lost two shooters and gained three unarmed people. Again, I prefer stealth but when stealth fails, what then? Use harsh language? Or a Glock.

I chose the aim for the head and dont be afraid options. They seemed like the best ones to go for at the time.

Train Clem well, Lee doesn't want to suffer in episode 5...

    "is it bad?"
"shhhh, just close your eyes Lee" ;)

"I'm gonna teach you something cool. So listen up."
    "Okay, Lee."
    "..."
"Can I put my arms down? They're tired..."

The fact that a Telltale person is asking this makes me think we should have. :(

I went with aim for the head
She does reply immediately with "I know..." so that seems to have been a waste. :(

For the other bit, I think there were three options -- not to be afraid, everything is dangerous, and you need to be able to pull the trigger. I chose the one about pulling the trigger, and Lee adds to that "...and live with the consequences." Now I'm worried that she might shoot an innocent person. :(

    Aim for the head
    Breathe

My 3rd save I do silent, so I'll see what happens when I get to it!

I would only pick this if I was doing a playthrough with a silent, uncertain Lee.
