Goodbye, She Quietly Says [SPOILERS FOR EP.3]

edited August 2012 in The Walking Dead
SPOILERS

How many people shot the girl and put her out of her misery/let her dying screams attract the zombies?

Also, how many items did you manage to grab before the zombies broke in (taking into account what you decision was regarding the girl, you may have had more or less time)

[If someone could show me how to include a poll in the thread, I'd love to do that to make the results clearer]

Click the "add poll" option at the bottom before submitting your thread. There's more discussion when you don't include a poll anyways.

I let her die on my first play through and got all 20 items.

I shot the girl, yeah. Oh and, were we supposed to check under the counter like Kenny said? *derp*

I did the first time, but after seeing how little supplies i got, i rewinded to that part and didnt shoot her. Still think we could of called to her, and have her run to us but there were a ton of moments I would of done something different. Anyway the second time through I got 17 items. BOOOM

Aw, my bad! You're right though - more discussion is good. Thanks for letting me know for future! Even if you are a cold-hearted survivalist.

I actually tried to shoot the zombies around her but it shot her instead :(

I actually killed a few walkers on my second play through which was pretty cool.

I let her screams attract the walkers. You can't save everyone. No point in putting ourselves in unnecessary danger when she seemed to be alone and completely surrounded. Even if we shot one, it was more than likely another would get to her before we did.

I think I grabbed around 12. Could have had more if I didn't keep revisiting aisles I had already cleared out.

Man, she was already dead at that moment she got bitten !!!in the ankle or elbow or something like that...i didn't shoot her, they want to eat her, i said "Let'em"

I tried to kill the walkers but the controls were being weird and I ran out of time so I had to leave her behind. I wish that hadn't happened, though. Hearing her screams while I was getting the supplies was terrible.

I shot her to put her out of her misery, because that's what I'd want to be done to me if I'd just been bitten and was about to be feasted upon by a horde of the undead. It attracted the walkers sure, but if my character gives up his humanity what's the point of living anyway?

I don't believe it's possible to save her. Would it have been so bad to have a tiny side story where she lives, goes with us in the pharmacy, helps gather supplies, then gets killed off on the way out? That way there's a third option that lets you get everything but doesn't require you to be so cold about letting her be eaten alive. The main story could have progressed just as before, but it'd have added something different.

I was gonna save her at first, but then she got bit, GG.

Her screams were very unnerving, I found myself wishing I had shot her:(
  • edited August 2012
First playthrough, I resigned myself to getting into trouble by being too soft, tried to shoot the zombie that was on her and shot her instead - got 10 things.

Second time around, I wanted to see how it would go differently - nicely atmospheric having to hear her screams all the way through the looting scene and got maybe 16, but I kept hitting aisles I'd already cleared and seeing stuff in the transitions I didn't seem able to click on.

i think they went with an ironic cheevo line as she wasn't going 'quietly' ;) :)

Felt sorry for her, so decided to "put her out of her misery", think I mange to get a total of 18 items in the end. Didn't have time to check under the counter though, was there anything particular there?
  • edited August 2012
I had to shoot her, nobody deserves die being eaten, despite Kenny kept told me that didn't shoot.

Besides she was bitten, I've just "put her out of her misery".
  • edited August 2012
Got all 20 and let her suffer. I don't want to waste ammo on someone stupid enough to get themselves into such a situation.
  • edited August 2012
I chose to leave her, considering the options. If I killed her, there would be less time to gather supplies in the pharmacy, and I care more about the group than one girl, as harsh as it sounds. Furthermore, it also would have been a waste of ammo. I managed to gather about 15 items in the pharmacy until the zombies broke in.

Good reasons. I'm agree too but I've decided the girl had not to suffer being eaten. I woke up on the good side this morning.:o

Killed her out of mercy. If I was in her shoes, I'd want someone to do the same for me.
  • edited August 2012
I left her as a distraction. Really tough choice but survival is the name of the game. Although I thought Kenny would keep that episode between us. How pissed off was everyone when Kenny blurted it out in the motor inn?

so lily blurts that your a murderer to save her skin and kenny blurts out about the girl.
  • edited August 2012
I shot her, can't leave somebody behind to the walkers like that. Managed to pick up 11 supplies.
  • edited August 2012
She was in downtown Macon screaming at the top of her lungs... she would have gotten all of us killed, so I left her. I actually felt really bad about it but she really was dead anyway.
  • edited August 2012
So people who let her be eaten and collected all the items, how did that change things storywise? I put the poor girl out of her misery and collected 10 items. Lilly is annoyed we didn't get more, argues with Kenny, and then sets me on my hunt for the thief.

I loved the beginning. Just 10 minutes into the game I was totally mind raped already. :D
  • edited August 2012
I actually let the walkers have her figuring she would keep them distracted before Kenny even suggested it. So for me, that was a easy choice.

I see many comments on how she was bitten on the ankle anyways, well tbh, I dont think she was.. It was close, but I think she pulled her foot away just before it got her.

She did get bitten after that, on the shoulder/neck, but I seriously didnt see her ankle get bitten, either way she was distracting the walkers allowing Kenny and I more time to grab more supplies!

12 items shooting her, all of them (as far as I know) without.
  • edited August 2012
Oh yeah, she was bitten on the ankle. It's a bit hard to see, but when the walker grabs her ankle, he lunges forward slightly and you can see a spurt of blood. I knew she was dead, but I couldn't let her die like that. Like my Lee said to Glenn in episode 1: "Mercy man."
  • edited August 2012
I killed her to spare her the pain of being eaten alive. I think I got about 10 or 11 items before the walkers busted down the door.

In hindsight I'm wondering if it would have been better to leave her to distract the walkers.
  • edited August 2012
Yeah, I shot her, I couldn't leave her to suffer like that.
  • edited August 2012
I got 15 items without shooting her, and 16 with shooting her in another playthrough. Nothing changes story wise.
  • edited August 2012
I left her it was a good distraction and she came out covered in blood anyway so I thought whats the point? If I'd shot her I would've drawn attention to myself which I didnt want. It was just bad having to hear her screaming for the next couple of mins when I got in because that made me feel quite bad about it but I didnt regret it

    Let's see...

Shot the girl. That was a pretty sick idea Kenny suggested. Let a terrified girl die in agony so we can have a little more time to loot Lee's parents store. Just sad.

    Collected 12 items.

Shot her. Admittedly I was sick and tired of Kenny being a dickwad, so when he suggested stringing her suffering out, I shot her partially out of spite. But I don't regret it now that all's said and done...I didn't get an exact count, but it was enough to please Lilly. To be quite honest, at some point I actually stopped looking at what I was grabbing and just nabbed everything that had a cursor on it. Worked out well enough.

Does it tell you how many supplies you grabbed somewhere, or did you all just count?
  • edited August 2012
I shot her. It was mostly to show her mercy since you clearly didn't get an option to actually save her so this was the next best thing to do.

A little bit of me just going against whatever Kenny wants also came into play as well as I'd got fed up of him during the last episode :)
  • edited August 2012
I left her purely on the basis that she couldn't shut the hell up. Maybe if she'd been more quiet she could've avoided the zombies instead of attracting every single one to her by constantly screaming. In the end it was her fault and I've been a relatively humanitarian person in regards to saving and putting people out of their misery. I think I can let this one slide.

Mercy killing. Got just over 12 items, which was enough to satisfy lilly.

It tells you when you reach a certain number. The first prompt I noticed was at 12, and I grabbed a few more after that before the sequence ended with no results. I guess there's also a prompt for 20 for the people who had extra time.
