What Matters To You?

edited August 2012 in The Walking Dead
At this point, what matters to you? What doesn't?

After losing everybody except Clem, Kenny and Ben, I'm just in a "fuck the world" mindset.

The only thing I care about at this point is Clem and myself.

Ben is a cowardly, naive idiot that was a catalyst for the trouble in ep 3.

Kenny saved me once, but in my playthrough, he left me to die twice. I feel sorry for his loss--it was sad to see his family go--but fuck him.

Chuck has good advice, but he's an alcoholic and loner type. I can't trust a guy that only looks out for himself.

Omid and Christa, well, I don't know them and I'm not trying to. Either they can't be trusted or they'll die. I don't want to be around for either.

    Clem for me too.

For me, trying to find out what happend to Clem's parents seems pivotal at this point in the game, if only to give her some closure. Not sure about them being alive (her dad was bitten I believe) as it might be a challenge concerning her relationship with Lee.

Companion-wise, Kenny's obviously a wreck and will probably have an even more destructive behavior from now on, either towards himself or others. I think he's going to be a threat to the group.

Not sure yet about Omid and Christa; they might be interesting companions if they turn out to be decent. Omid, at least, seems to be positive about challenges and outcomes, which is refreshing.

As for Ben, I kinda feel sorry for the guy, so I'm hoping ep.4 will give him a chance to redeem himself in some way shape or form.

Chuck : gave good, solid (if not blunt) advice concerning Clem and could be the key to the group's survival.

    Only me and Clementine.

Kenny would have left me to die in the Pharmacy if I hadn't freed myself from the door on top of me.

Ben betrayed the group and could have prevented Carley's death.

Omid and Christa are hiding something and I don't care much for Christa taking any chance to have a go at me.

I'm not completely sure on Chuck yet. He's a bit of an enigma. At the current moment I would probably save him/help him if the situation arose.

I still care for the group including the new comers... obviously Clem comes first but I truly think kenny, ben, omid, chuck, and christa have good intentions relatively... sure they may not be best friends but i think the turn of events will help unite them.

Episode 3's on steam now, downloading it. Time to face my fears of watching Carley die

Me Personally, do not trust anybody except for Clem. It used to be Carley as well but she got shot and after that everything went downhill. To tell you the truth, in the beginning when Lee was stuck under the door and Kenny didnt help me, I hated his guts because that was the second time he did this to me. So I wanted to side with Lily, until she shot carley, Then kenny lost his wife and Duck, now he's a wreck, cant be trusted and can be a threat to the group. And Ben.....screw him, he is the cause of all of this, he's just a selfish, naive kid. if he would have just been honest to Lily none of this would have happen but nooo, he had to be a scared little girl and let Carley die for it. I honestly dont think I can help him in the next episode if I had the choce to. And the 2 new people, I dont know, everytime we meet someone new they always get someone killed so i dont know. Overall, I dont care what heppens to anyody else as long as Me and Clem survive. oh, and that guy talking to her with the walkie-talkie, better watch his back in the next episode, nobody is going to manipulate Clem on my watch.

Based on the message on the phone in One, it seems obvious Clem's dad got bit and they took him to the hospital, where he died and bit her mom. The way Clem's mom was telling Clem to call the police and that she loved her very much (past tense mind you) leads me to believe Clem's dad turned and bite her mom, which seeing what happened to her dad, made her believe she would suffer the same fate, which is why her saying to call the police and her saying goodbye and that she loves her very much more obvious that she knows shes about to die as well.

Whoever it is that talking with Clem is taking advantage of her, the only question is why?

Clem all the way man. Nobody else can be trusted at this point.

Clem is all that matters, hands down. I like Chuck and like TrickyD said I would save him if the situation arose. It's not only that I can't trust anyone, it's that I don't want to trust anyone. I don't want to form an attachment to them because I know they're all expendable when it comes to my main goal: protecting Clem.

I however did care about Carley, I felt she could of taken a surrogate mother role for Clem if she hadn't died and Clem's mom turns out to be dead.

Still though, I just don't see the point in caring about much of anyone other than Clem.

Kenny is a broken man, he doesn't have his family to protect anymore. He's probably unstable and unwilling to listen to others.

Fuck Ben, he killed the group. We've all been honest, almost everyone of us. Hell, I told the kid I was a MURDERER. I trusted him with that information and TWICE I asked if he was the traitor. Twice and he lied. His lie got Carley killed, if he had explained himself I would of let him stay. Could of still been used to make Lily leave too. Like she tries to kill Ben and you pull her away.

Christa, I can't stand her. Not only does she constantly judge what I do with Clem (she hasn't been with us at ALL, how would she know how to take care of Clem?)

Omid, I don't know about Omid. He seems really weird, but he saved Lee's life. That counts for something in my book. It's why I chose him at the end over Christa.

Chuck, I like him. I don't trust him too much, but behind Clem he's probably the one I'd protect/trust the most. He had a chance to attack us for going through his stuff, he didn't. He offered his train to us, he offered everyone candy, (weird, but it had no aftertaste!) He also showed concern for Clem and offered advice on how to help prepare her for the Apocalypse.

Clem, Y u No Trust Us?
But in all serious, this is my opinion of the current crew:

    Clem - Number 1 Priority.

Kenny - Emotional Wreck, Unstable, could end up like Lilly (Killing Carley/Doug)

Ben - Felt sorry for him when Lilly accused him, discovered he was traitor so we're just neutral now. He's gonna have to do something big to get back in my books :D

Chuck - Like the dude so far, but it all depends if he trusts me enough too. We'll see if he'll ever explain the missing photograph to me.

Omid - Ok, not too sure. Weird how he's so interested in Kids. Seems alright.

Christa - Lilly 2.0? I'm not sure either, they came relatively late. Their mysterious talk on the crossing didn't help either (When you first meet them and climb up the ladder)

    Hit List

Creepy Mysterious Pedophile On Walkie (C.M.P.O.W.) - Dead. Oh, so very dead. :D :D :D

The only people I trusted were Clem, Carley and Katjaa. Duck was annoying but I still felt protective of him. Considering they all died, the only person I care about and am looking out for is Clem and maybe Kenny.

It was in the lead car on the train, above the dead conductor. I think that was a picture of HIS (The conductor) family, but none-the-less, the picture disappears when you get around to moving the train. I believe that's the photo everyone is talking about. :)

I guess everyone is under the assumption that Charles took it. >_> Maybe he needed some toilet paper. :P

Clem is all that remains. All characters I cared about are dead or gone. So, like Christa said, I will no longer trust in safety of numbers and if devs give us that choice, Lee and Clem are going to seperate from the rest.

I'm only worried about Clem now. It feels like she's my daughter or something, with that creep on the radio at the end of episode 3, I'm definitely going to be looking out for her in episode 4.

I also trusted Kenny's family until everything happened, and now I'm not sure what to think about Kenny; on the train with Omid Kenny teaches him the train controls in case something "happens" to him. The words of a man who is giving up. Which, I understand in retrospect.

I also trusted Carley, as she understood my past and kept it a secret from the group. Not to mention she knew how to use a gun. If I had the option, I would have saved her over Ben any day in the RV argument situation if I had a chance to. Quite frankly I never really cared about Ben, and I sure as hell don't care about what happens to him anymore in the future episodes. I think fear will kill him eventually.

Lee and Clem are the only two characters that I have ever cared about. People will come and go, and die, but none of that really matters so long as Lee and Clem make it out alive. There have been times when Lee would have died without the help of others, so I'm not discounting their actions by any means, but if it came down to letting Kenny die, in order to save myself or Clem, I'd let him die. I honestly think Lee needs at least one other strong person with him though because if something does happen to him, Clem will be on her own.

All I care about is making sure Clem is ok and looking out of Kenny (he is a bro to me). Ben caused Doug death so I hate him and I really really really don't like Christa and I wish she would keep away from Clem. Not sure what to make of Chuck, I mean I didn't like him telling Clem that she is going to die, but he made some good points about how to keep her safe. Oh and Omid called me a son of a bitch for helping him up first, so that was a bit harsh. So yea, like I said as long as Clem and Kenny are safe I'm happy.

I don't blame Ben for what he did. I might have done the same thing to keep the bandits off us, but I would've brought it up for discussion amongst the group first. I still don't like Ben regardless, He's a weak and fairly useless member who hasn't proved himself worth a damn.

I feel some obligation to look out for Kenny, if only because he's been there from the beginning.

Omid and Chuck seem ok. Christa rubs me the wrong way though. Within five minutes she's giving me lectures on Clem. Did we need our group's shrill bitch replaced that quickly?

Clem is my centre. If she dies, I go after TellTale staff with a bowie knife.

It just seems so hard to believe that so much of the original Drug Store group is gone now. I was with Kenny through every episode, even the meat locker. Although I didn't agree with him at times, and he was an ass to me for mercy killing that girl at the start, we're still bros. Clem is my main priority, but I'm gonna try to get Kenny through this thing even though he seems to have given up. I'm not getting close to anyone else.

Chuck seems ok, if blunt. His advice will probably save Clem now.

Christa and Omid I'll keep my distance from. I was close to Carley, and thought that she and Lee could be Clem's new parents if we survived. Needless to say I abandoned Lilly on the side of that road.

I thought it might have been Ben taking the supplies. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt because he was a kid, but when Lilly snapped and killed Carley, that was just as much my fault as his for trusting him. He got the only person I KNEW I could trust get killed.

In the end, fuck Ben. Christa and Omid, we'll see in EP4. Chuck is alright so far, but I'm keeping my distance. Kenny has given up, and I don't think he'll let himself survive the next two episodes. After this episode, I've given up hope pretty much but I'll make sure Clem makes it no matter what.

Chuck is a drunk but I think that he can be trusted. He's wise, and knows when to say something and when not to.

Omid and Christa cannot be trusted. They have designs on Clem, I'm-a-thinkin'.

Kenny? Who knows? Maybe he'll pull through. Too early to say.

Ben....now, there's a puzzle. I don't think that he has what it takes to make it. He's got as much substance as a soggy paper bag.

What matters to me is three things: Helping Kenny, Protecting Clem, and trying to kill of Omid and romance Christa. I'm going to be frank and say that a woman that tall is pretty damn hot, even if she does look a bit mannish, and I hope I can unzip that amazon's track jacket sometime. Rawr.

If I can ask for one more thing, it'd be having Chuck teach me guitar.
  • edited August 2012
The only people left that I care about in the game are Clem, Kenny, and myself. Kenny has saved me multiple times in my playthrough. After Ben lied and caused Carley's death, I stopped caring if he lived. I'm not sure I trust Chuck %100 percent just yet. Christa seems like another Lilly and Omid seems like he would get killed if left alone.
  • edited August 2012
I will be honest...during the games where you had to feed people and take care of them...i always took care of Clem and Carley first...Always! and i was being really drawn to Carley especially the motel part where they both tell each other how they feel towards each other...

After Carley's death...i really snapped out and said to myself...shit I really gotta put Clem as my first priority....so CLEM 100% as for when Carley was alive was 50% Carley and 50% Clem
  • edited August 2012
I only cared about Carley Clem and myself by episode 3, now its just clem and myself. i want to like and trust kenny but he is just to much of a liability. i also think i would be better off without omid and christa. in im not going out of my way to save ben, infact i feel the opposite is true, god i want to push him off the train.
  • edited August 2012
Aside from the obvious Clem, I actually trust Ben and Omid.

Ben did what he did because he thought it was the right thing, and it might have even ensured our survival for awhile. Although he should of told people. Frankly, I would have kept my mouth shut during Lilly's freak out too.

As for Christa, I'm going to take the first chance to let her die. She seems like the kind of woman that screams paedophile when a man brings his daughter to the park. She might know Lee's past (not that it matters now), but she is definitely trying to get Clem away from Lee, "for her safety".

Kenny can fuck off. Every time I need his help, he leaves me to die.

Chuck is cool, but I expect he is going to leave when he thinks it's best for him to do so.
