Depressed! [SPOILERS]

edited August 2012 in The Walking Dead
Is anyone else completely bummed out by this episode?! I mean, episode 2 was dark but this episode went to a whole new level of soul crushing hopelessness.

This game should carry a health warning or something.

I kinda get what you mean. After getting Ep3 today, I though I will play through all my three saves. So far, I finished one save and I will leave other two for tommorow, so I can soak up everything that happened in this "Walking Dead: Concentration camp simulator" episode.

I just played my second walkthrough and decided to leave Lily at the side of the road. The scene of her begging to not be left behind really made me feel bad.

Yeah I left her at the side of the road.

It's a tough call to make maaaaaaaan.

Did I feel bad? Of course.

Did her actions warrant my decision? I'm not sure.

    ;/

Yes, this episode affected me more than usual. Almost makes me cry after shoot Duck and find Katjaa dead. So tough...

I don't feel nothing for someone who kills a person at cold blood. This choice it's clear for me.

I think many of us will need therapy after this episode. After episode 5, we'll all just be committed!

I've hated Duck since the beginning and just waiting for him to bite the dust, and today I actually CRIED when he died! I've NEVER even been CLOSE to crying in a game EVER!

This game is the most amazing emotional roller-coaster I've ever experienced.
Not even a film has made me feel so bad or emotionally attached to a fictional character as this game has.
    Telltale, you are bloody fantastic!

Oh god yeah! I wasnt a big Kenny fan after the meat locker incident in ep2 but boy did I feel for him after that scene.

Something tells me it's only going to get darker.

    Totally Agree!

    Yeah this one was heartbreaking..

    Yes I agree.

First there is something between Craley and Lee and then. :( Then Kennys family... :(

The carley scene was a real shocker. Made just that little bit more surprising by the comments in the top left. "Carley will remember that"

Yes for about ten seconds before Lily puts a bullet in her head!

That was mean Telltale. Just mean.

My first playthrough was with Doug, where only the Duck scene got really hard. But the playthrough with carley... I don't know, all those signs for a possible romance made it really tough. I played some gruesome games before, homefront for example, but this was the first time after FF7 as a kid, that I got really down. Damn, getting all depressed over a game... I'm going to watch my little pony for a while...

I thought ep 2 was just completely fucked up, and while ep 3 wasn't much better from the sheer amount of death, it was alot easier and didn't find myself hesitating on any of the options all that much.

I guess in this situation it was just alot easier to feel people's motives, and that made decisions all the easier. The stuff that happened to Kenny was bad, but it wasn't sudden and they all had the opportunity to make peace, which was a welcome change of pace.

All in all, quite a relaxing episode. Outstanding issues were taken care of, maybe not in the cleanest way possible, but sufficiently.

Maybe I'll feel differently during the Carley playthrough, although I'm not much on the romance.

Not really. I was a bit gutted when Doug died but otherwise it's to be expected really that there wasn't going to be many people left at the end.

Leaving Lily behind was probably one of the harder choices I've had to make as I'd started to side with her in the last episode, and I'd even started to convince myself it was Kenny leaving the supplies for the bandits from how he was acting while Ben was being interrogated.

The duck shooting scene was brutal. Again with Telltale and their "duck thinks your awesome" line. Those guys are very sick puppies.

Great episode, when i saw that kadj as died and i had to kill Duck i almost start crying, well the tears were there but DAMN, it was hard... I didnt played the game again today like i did with the episode 2, this one was really dark but the time it would take me to play it again wasnt enought so...

And Great Ending, i Said the same thing as Lee but like 1 sec Before "Who the hell is that?" xD, it was like WHAT?

Great Job on the episode, i hope Episode 4 gets to be even better...

Oh, on the topic of duck, I know I poked fun at him in the past, but if he wanted to play conductor (with some supervision) in his last few hours of normalcy, I would have totally let him.

    Now THAT's something.

Screw Lilly. I can't believe her. I helped her save Larry, and I thought I could trust her and she seemed to understand, when I told her about my past. But then she goes and shoots Carly. It was depressing. She didn't deserve it. She has always been there for Lee, since the start. I think she cared for Lee and the feeling was mutual. So yeah I was pissed when LIlly shot Carly, so left her on the side of the road. I didn't even feel bad about it. Now I wish I had sided with Kenny in episode 2.

I quite liked the Lee/Carley bit at the beginning of this ep so when lily shot her it was a shock. But my decision to leave her behind was basically a death sentence and she knew that which is why she begged not to be left.

Leaving her alone on the road at night was the wrong thing to do and lee will regret it. Even if it never comes up again in the story.

I was too bitter over the Carly shooting to think rationally. I couldn't stand to be around her. Besides when I asked Katja about it later on, she mentioned that leaving her was the right thing to do.
