She got the best death in the game. Do you want her to be torn apart by walkers?

I actually thought it was one of the most hard-hitting and well-deserved (by Telltale, not Carly) moments in recent gaming memory.

"It’s difficult to talk about without revealing too much… but there is a moment in Episode 3 that is shocking and horrifying and absolutely perfect in terms of storytelling and evoking emotion from the player."

I was rather upset by her death. After Lee and Clem, she was the character I liked the most and felt a real connection with. The potential relationship between her and Lee would have been really interesting to see. Could they have settled down somewhere and raised Clem as their own? Or would they always be on the run? Unfortunately, what happened, happened. I spent the rest of the episode hoping it was just a bad choice I made (during that scene I kept telling Lily to put the gun down, not to blame the guy), so it is a bit annoying that no, that was all forced on the player no matter what.

Well in my opinion Lee didn't have much of an option. In retrospect, it all happened really fast. And when someone has somethign in their mind, they're gunna do it. Lilly likely already made her mind up that the percieved traitor had to die.

Not much could have been done on Lee's behalf. She whipped out the gun while everyone was distracted.

Personally, while I was shocked, distraught and even struck in utter disbelief. Carley's death was the best for the story by any stretch. It's great storytelling. When writers can make the audience feel emotion for a character. That's when they've done their job right. It was a great moment.

I was livid. If I could have strangled Lilly with "my" bare hands I would have. There was zero question in my mind about leaving her at that moment, and I still feel the one percent chance of survival she was left with was better than she deserved.

Carley was decent, kind, and useful from a gameplay perspective. I tried with Lilly and was glad when she so easily got over Lee's past. But all that flew out the window when she thought the dead of night in a speeding RV, while a child laying dying in his mother's arms, was the best time to hold her kangaroo court.

While I feel bad about how Larry died, I sure don't miss him. And I guess this apple didn't fall far from the tree.

No. I wanted to write her bad survivalist poetry, hold her hand and take her for windy walks around the motor inn parking lot. :( </3

I liked Carley, she's gone, I'm good, other than I am so tired of the Carley threads. They're actually eroding my fondness of Carley.

I hope the AM tracks down the VA of Carley for an interview. Given the extreme number of Carley fans I'm pretty sure there would be enormous interest on her perspective.

Tbh, I never knew there were this many Carley fans. It's not just confined to this forum either. Kudos to TTG for creating such a brilliant character.

something like 75% of the playthroughs (including 2nd and on) picked Carley over Doug.

When I found out it was Ben that had been stealing supplies, and that he had gotten Carly killed by refusing to admit it, I wanted to tie him up outside and leave him for walker bait :) anyone else?

Considering Carley was a far more established character and a more involved character at that point I can see why. And, let's not try to kid ourselves here that gender also played a role in the decision too.

No, I wanted Lilly to shoot him instead. :)

You can't save those that are already dead. Learn to cope with death.

    Lee's logic:
    "It happened pretty fast"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the original intent of that FB page to persuade players to save Carley over Doug in episode one?

Shhhhh, it gives him a reason to complain. Don't mess that up. :)

True, she probably felt nothing. Still the way in which she died being so unneccessary still is the main reason why this doesnt make the death any less tragic.

I found Carley to be a rather boring character since she was so perfect and had no flaws. When she turned up a the farm I thought:"Thank God the walking gun is here!".
