The final choice

edited September 2012 in The Walking Dead
So near the end, after you jump off the bridge and get on the train, you apparently have the option of saving Omid or Christa. The thing is, Omid ran by so fast that I only had Christa on screen, but then I got wrapped on because I didn't help Omid.

Did anybody else do this by accident? I'm sure I could have seen Omid if I had moved the mouse around, but with everything happening so fast, and me only being able to see Christa, what was I to do?

    Aww that
s too bad :p I was thinking since Omid was hurt I should grab him first and Christa would probably make it on the train or I could lean out and grab her :D

You get yelled at no matter what you do.

Yeah, no matter who you save, the other one chews you out. Him for you not saving a woman first, her for you not saving the injured person first.

It also doesnt matter if you push Omid off the bridge or not, he hurts himself either way.

Altho I could see that choice coming back to bite you in the ass, long term. I expect firm tongue lashing from Christa later on in my game.

    Exactly like me :P

I did the exact same thing as the OP. I would have saved Omid first because he was hurt, but Christa was right there, why waste time, right?
  • edited August 2012
What happens when you choose her instead of him? He can't die... right?
  • edited August 2012
I saved Christa first purely because she was the first out of the two I saw. I don't really like either of them so I hope they don't stick around too long.

I saved Christa just because she was in my screen too, but I laughed when Omid just somehow caught up after not even being able to stand on his own 5 seconds ago... I mean really? Unless Omid is a track star I am calling bs

I did the same thing. I TRIED to save Omid first because his leg was screwed up, but the camera was giving me hell and I couldn't find the indicator on Omid. So I assumed I had to save Christa. Then when she chewed me out for not saving Omid first, I realized that I must have been able to do it after all.

I've been trying to do a "live with the consequences" run and this is the first time I reloaded. I feel kind of dirty about it, but since saving Omid first was my initial intent anyway, I don't think it's that big a deal.

Not in my game. Worked fine. Omid was in the lead and I had the option to talk to him or help him. I remember thinking Hmmm..I have questions but maybe this is not the time...

They both look like they have good cardio but Omid was injured. So I helped Omid just to be sure he made it. Christa was okay the whole time..I knew she would make it without help.

When the scene first played out I was not aware there was a choice. I just somehow chose Omid.

Can't say I care either way. They both seem bland.
  • edited August 2012
I find it quite a pointless choice really. No matter which one you save, they scream at you for not saving the other, when regardless of if they are injured, they get in the train without a scratch.

If you rescue Omid, he shouts at you for not saving a woman first.
If you rescue Christa, she shouts at you for not saving someone who was injured first.

Maybe there should have been an option to do nothing. Then you wouldn't hear them complain. ;)

I kind of wish that was an option. I don't see them sticking around long at all.

Apparently there is an option to talk to Omid... I am going to try this instead of save him.

Tbh, it wouldn't surprise me if all the characters are killed off, with the possible exception of Clem. If there's any sense of justice to be made, that has to be the outcome.

It makes sense to me if everyone either died or left the group just leaving Lee and Clem. I can't imagine the whole group going and searching for that guy on the walkie or looking for her parents. Seems like it makes more sense for where the plot is going to have it just Lee and Clem.

Yes initially I didn't realise it was a choice. I just clicked on Omid first, but then he got angry that I didn't save Christa first, because she's a woman.

Given the reaction to episode three, if all the characters were killed off at least then it would feel like justice has been served. If some characters survive then it would feel like some fans (especially of the Carley variety) have been cheated on.

Not sure about Lee surviving though. Part of me prefers him to be killed off (sacrificed even) in ensuring Clem's safety.

You're in luck! Try the scene again and do exactly that. :)

You also have the option to talk to them as theyre trying to catch up. Its such a tense scene that even on my 2nd playthrough I still didnt do it because I was nervous I'd miss my chance to help.

I imagine itd go something like this though.

Lee: So NOW you wanna join the group?

    Christa: QUIT FUCKING AROUND!

oh really? Well in my 2nd playthrough, my Lee is a jerk so perhaps I will try that next time.

So what actually happens when you do nothing?
  • edited August 2012
When you do nothing, the same thing happens as when you do anything. They both make it, you get yelled at.

    Well... naturally.

I chose to save Christa, but if you look at the stats of episode 3, I think a lot of people saved Omid instead. He was injured and less of an ass than his girlfriend I guess :D

I am betting that she's pregnant. Thus the interest in Clem and the group. Omid might not make it but she will.

I saved Omid first because he was the one I could grab first.
  • edited September 2012
what is with the christa is pregnant ?

i think she's been bit..or she got 'infected' (they don't know everyone is)
  • edited September 2012
If she was bitten, she'd have shown signs of it by now. Or in that preview of the next episode. You can't hide it for more than an hour.

This happened to me. Omid ran so fast that I picked up Christa, not knowing it was a choice you has to make.

I think Lee wouldn't mind a firm tongue lashing from Christa

Anyone else baffled at how a man with a broken leg was so fast?
  • edited September 2012
I went out of my way to save Omid because I hate Christa, lol.

Same, I don't trust her or like her and I really want her to stay away from Clem.

It may not have been broken - he wouldn't be able to run @ all if it was. That being said, I would think that a herd of walkers could motivate you to run pretty darn fast.

No matter. Omid is almost certainly a dead duck. There are no hospitals and the only group member with any medical skills just put a bullet into her own brain. As nice as Katjaa was, she was an extremely selfish so-and-so. Kenny and the group still needed her.

Yeah, and she has some balls for questioning Lee's abilities and judgement after knowing him for little more than 10 minutes or so.
