What happens if you wait when you put **** out of their misery? (Big-time Spoilers)

Duck. I felt so guilty because he was looking at me. If I wait, I'd assume he eventually stops breathing, will he eventually turn into a walker? I feel like I'd feel less uneasy if I were to shoot him then.

I waited a long long time and nothing happened.

The whole choice, I think, is about killing him yourself, or pushing Kenny to do it.

I killed him myself. In the moment that I thought he stopped breathing.
I later found out that he continued breathing after a few seconds, when reading other people's experiences.

What happens is he continues this cycle of weezing and gasping then stops and closes his eyes. Just for his little body to start back up again as it fight for life/the infection.

There is a third option: if you allow Kenny to do it and then you stay silent, Duck dies and Kenny says that he cannot do it. You leave Duck in the woods to become a walker.

I didn't know about the third option either. It's a little creepy. And sad...
