edited October 2012 in The Walking Dead
Did you guys catch Clem talking on walkie talkie when u walk into motel in beginning on ep3..? Wonder how long that walkie talkie has been working..wonder if shes told them about st.john dairy and car with supplies? who knows--it could be bandits or part of bandit group in another city?

I don't know how walkie-talkie works - but doesn't Glenn have the other one?

I think she told them she wanted to go to Savannah to find her parents, and she must have updated the stranger on Lee's plans to look for them at the Marsh House. The thing is, I don't know what they would want with a little girl - perhaps they're using Clem as bait.

I think the batteries fell out in EP1 at the drug store, and she put in the new batteries that Carley gave her at the end of EP2. Then it began working again, and she started talking to the guy, so it may have only been for a week or so.

i figure it was all just pretend talking until she got near Savannah (where somebody heard her talking to her parents and decided to take advantage of her), and it probably was just the batteries we got from the car that fixed the radio

That totally creeped me out when that thing actually started talking! Who knows how long it's been working or who she's been talking to or what she told them! We have to wait till next episode to find out! Grrrr! lol I thought she'd been pretending the whole time as well!

    It's a little illogical though.
Come on, Walkie Talkies don't work that far. A couple hundred meters, maybe 1 or two kilometers at best, but not from Macon to Savannah. That guy on the other talkie must have been quite close to them all the time if Clem repeatedly talked to him. And he must have been quite a bit ahead of them as well to get her parents in Savannah before the train arrived. That thing isn't a fucking satellite phone. It's an ordinary walkie talkie.

I know that if you are on certain channels of a cb or radio you can hear walkie talkies and also baby monitors..maybe the other person doesn't even have the matching walkie talkie
No need to get angry Digestif, my apologies if you are not. Just comes across that way in your post

If he's in Savannah and she's in Macon, that's over 100 miles. He'd have to have a radio broadcast tower tuned to the walkie's frequency, and he wouldn't be able to hear her answers - either she's been pretend talking most of the time and only got in contact with creepy Mr. Radio recently, or he's been following them in some kind of stealth ATV.

Definitely. She has probably told the guy all about the group; what they have for supplies, how many they are, how they act, and what has happened to them since she put the new battery in it. He's either out for the groups supplies (which isn't much right now), and/or to kill, and/or to have violent intercourse with someone in the group (Ben, probably).

I think there are different kind of Walkies. I know I had a cheaper pair of children-talkies when I was little. They could only communicate with each other and in a very small radius. Real expensive ones could probably reach really far and browse through channels.

The "whether Lee likes it or not" part made me pretty worried. He knows who Lee is (and most definitely about everyone else) and seems pretty hostile.

Awesome way to end the episode by the way. Who doesn't love cliffhangers?

Yeah, the guy seems like a child predator to me, where's Chris Hansen when you need him.

Pedobear is dying and if he lays one hand on Clem then by god it will be the most painful death ever.

Yeah, it seems odd that a stranger with a radio would orchestrate so much just for a well defended little girl. It'd make more sense if it had something to do with Lee.

Maybe he killed Glenn and stole his talkie.
Damn, This episode is so... Confusing..

Glenn brought two walkie talkies to Hershels farm. She gave the first one to Glenn. Later on in the first episode, Glenn leaves to go to Atlanta. He never bothers to give back the talkie to Clem. So he may have died and someone stole the walkie and is now tricking Clem to go to Savannah. The second one: there is a third talkie at Clems house. Thats how Lee and her meet at first. Lee never keeps the walkie after that. It is still left at the house. So someone could have gone into her house after Lee and Clem leave. That person coould have gone to Savannah and gotten Clem's parents. OR, that dude on the talkie could just be a rapist. But that third option is SO unlikely......:D

The walkie talkie Glenn took was the walkie talkie that Lee was using in the house. Lee gave it to Glenn when he went siphoning fuel. Glenn can't die, he's in the comics.

If you read the comics you know that Glenn survives for WAY longer than has passed in the game so far, in addition to them going the opposite direction that Glenn did at the end of episode 1.

Didn't Clem's parents also have a Walkie talkie?

There's nothing that says they did and why would you pack a walkie talkie for a brief trip to Savannah (well beyond it's range)? Clem's mom left telephone messages.

besides the walkie clem's parents would of used was left in the kitchen draw for lee to find...
