Season 1 Ending Predictions

edited September 2012 in The Walking Dead
I think Lee will die at the end of season 1 as a sacrifice for Clem and in season 2 you will play as Clem but she will be older. 10+ years later

She will mention about Lee through her play through experience and has constant dreams of Lee sacrificing himself for her and him guiding her how to be more of a survivalist.

Hm.. that's a great idea. Not only we will have a female protagonist, but the game will be able to track our saves and give us the correct memory of Lee.
The only problem, however, is her age. I'm not sure how much time has passed since the ZA so she can't be like 18. Playing her as a kid won't give much room for diversions. You can't expect her to reason her choices like an adult will.
    So... I doubt it.

She will mention about Lee when they discuss about the beginning of the apocalypse
I never thought of that, but it seems like a good idea. There is 3 months between episode 1 and 2, and only weeks between episode 2 and 3. So, unless they skip like 10 years into the future, I can't see us playing Clem.
I do want Lee to carry on to the next season, but my gut instinct is that he will sacrifice himself for Clem.

That thought crossed my mind too but I don't think it will happen. Clem is only eight just now and I don't see the gap between season 1 and season 2 being like ten years. It would be a really good idea with however you shaped Clem being how she turned out when she was older but I think it would be too much work to think about what the world would be like after ten+ years of a zombie apocalypse.

But I want to be Lee... or at least Leela if it HAS to be a woman.

    yep :)

I don't like the 10 year skip idea, or playing as Clementine. Season 1 should be Lee's and Clementine's story, Season 2 should be a whole different story.

Whatever the ending is, I predict some vagueness.
They're kinda looking at a double whammy at writing any definite conclusion, here.

Not only do they have to appease every single game choice, but Walking Dead's whole premise (from what I've seen of the comics, at least) is that it's endless. There's no scenario where a character could breathe a sigh a of relief and say, "well, my life should be peaches from here on out!"

So yeah, I'm totally in the camp that Lee's gonna bite it.
Possibly with some ending where you survive the inevitable heroic sacrifice if you were what Telltale considered nice.

Maybe they could take a page from Fallout's playbook and have epilogues that reflect your choices? You know, like "Kenny went on to strike oil/choke on a washcloth thanks to Lee's ____"

Frankly, I think the Season end will boil down to one of two things, depending upon the likelyhood of a second season.

    1) Everyone but Lee and Clem will perish, leaving the two characters to find a brand new group ready for Season 2.

    2) Lee will die and this group's tale will end, leaving Telltale to make a brand new protagonist for Season 2.

No, I believe Lee should still be the main character, I really don't want a new character with a normal backstory.

Lee's backstory is unique and original, and may affect more characters he stumbles upon, aside from being a normal character living his days and suddenly zombies started appearing.

Well, Carl and Rick are a father/son duo that have survived ever since Issue 1# and are still here a hundred more later. Maybe Chuck opening Lee's eyes to helping Clem survive is foreshadowing that will show them to be more shaped survivalists in Season 2.

I think Clementine will find her parents and they will die along with Clementine, I reckon Kenny will take his own life or risk his saving Lee, Chuck will be attacked by a walker, both Christa and Omid will turn out not to be all they make out to be (the fact Omid was excited to see a little kid was weird enough) and I reckon Lee will be left on his own or with 1 new survivor.

Also I reckon there will be a twist in the end of season, either we find out Lee killed the senator because he killed/beat Lee's girlfriend or/and we meet Lee's girlfriend as a walker or survivor!!

Season 2 will still be Lee as the primary protagonist.

I still want Lee and Clem to return as the main protagonists. The idea is that if you were to skip ten or so years for an older Clementine, that would be skipping WAY ahead of the comic. Considering that Kirkman wants the tv show to be set in before the current comic timeline, it would make sense that the game should not skip ahead. Besides, the comic has only skipped ahead 2 years, so...

Don't think so. Most retarded guess I have ever seen. Won't happen 100%.
  • edited September 2012
I figured Lee would die the moment he found Clem. (Murderer finds a child he can redeem himself through by his actions) with your good/bad ending depending on how well you did.

Next season will be a new group - with possible cameos from this season. (Possibly Kenny.. who I see living, he's the dev's whippin' post apparently... and Carley... yeah yeah... I'm on the Good Ship Denial....)

Beyond that, I see everyone else as fodder......

I think there's a huge appeal to keeping a consistent protagonist across seasons. There needs to be a hero to keep drawing people back. Plus, not many games starring well-rounded black people who aren't a bunch of stereotypes and that was always something I appreciated about Kirkman's writing.

Anyway, I think watching Lee change from season to season similar to Mass Effect's plots carrying over would be amazing. Whether Clementine survives or sticks around or not, I can live with it either way, but she's an incredibly good emotional anchor.

If Season 2 had a new protagonist, they'd have to make him just as interesting as Lee.

Personally, I want Lee to survive the end of Ep 5, but I'm pretty sure he'll die to make room for a "new" hero.
  • edited September 2012
Anybody see that picture for Episode 5? it shows clem and a zombie below her or something, maybe thats Lee?
  • edited September 2012
I'm thinking Glenn? He leaves at the end of episode 1......it would make an interesting story to follow him from there?

I think Lee may die at the end of ep 5 saving Clem as well, but I doubt it will skip ahead 10 years for season 2 simply because they are working hard to make this canon with the comic.
What would be cool for season 2 was that you're a new character but run into Clem and lee at some point or even have them join your group.

I would like to see Lee and Clem come back in the second season. I think Clem will be back at least. Weither or not Lee comes back is up in the air. As I said, it would be awesome to see him come back. But I think TTG can tell a different story with a new hero. Hopefully they won't kill off the new hero's love interest in the next season haha

I hope they all die. If they are following Kirkman's "No One Is Safe" montage I hope they all die, and Clem is gorging on Lee's corpse.

And on that note, Ep 4 will probably be peaceful with alot of good things happening, stability and resources secured, followed up with Ep 5 where they clean house and kill everyone. Clem will either find her mom or survive the final attack. This may be Lee's story but it's Clementine's game.

but remember they said Ep 4 will be even darker then Ep 3. so i doubt it will be peaceful

there will definitely be drama but I dont think death; we just lost 3 core members and in terrible ways; the entire group is in shock this time not just one faction or another; whatever happens in Ep 4 will probably be the catalyst that pulls them all together again; just before they all die ;)

In my opinion, killing everyone would be a bad idea, unless it is one of the possible endings that can be avoided.
First, it would give the player a feeling that he / she didn't accomplish anything and actually made things worse (because if Lee had died at the beginning, everything could have happened differently).
It would also hurt the second season, if they are planning to make it. The main adventage of the game is the involving story and emotional connection to the characters. If the player knows that there is a very high chance that everyone will die anyway, no matter what he / she does, it would make the story pretty predictable and make it much harder to care about characters (they are all doomed anyway, so why should I give a damn?). That's why I think they should leave at least a few characters alive at the end.

i think they're going to injure lee, and you'll be forced to play the last part as clem

I see the last 4 characters will be: Lee, Clem & Christa (who is pregnant, so 4 people).

    older clem? huh what?

I honestly think we should stick with Lee. He's likeable and they could screw up with a new character. The last scene will probably be Lee forced to put Clem down, and then he walks away, forever changed by what he did.
  • edited September 2012
I hope Lee lives and we can continue his story. But IF he dies, I'd hate to play as Clem. I like her a lot, but not as a player character. I just dont see us being forced to play as an 8 year old girl in a ZA. Or even making a 10 year jump is kind of ridiculous imo, i really hope that doesn't happen lol.

I've changed my mind about Clementine dying and now I'm going with Clem and Lee surviving and becoming a sort of Rick and Carl....

I reckon she will find her parents either A) Alive or B) Turned and if they do turn up alive they will eventually be bitten and attack Lee which will end up having Clementine making her first kill by shooting them both to save Lee which will in turn make her more strong willed and a hard case, so much that she won't be fazed by deaths of group members and will lose that child inside of her becoming more like Lee and a survivor.

In Season 2 I think Clementine will spend the entire season hating on Lee and blaming him for her parents death, she will be cold towards Lee until the end of Season 2 where Lee will save Clementine in some dramatic way that we have yet to see!!

I've got it all planned out :-)

I dont like the idea of the walking dead universe and 10 years passing. Kirkman hasn't even reached that point yet in the comics, so what if something important happens within that time. Its been about 10 years since the comics release and and only 2 years have passed within that universe
