When did you pull the trigger?

edited September 2012 in The Walking Dead
I decided Kenny had been through too much at the moment and I opted to put Duck to rest.

I pushed the button when he stopped breathing.

I'm trying to find out what else happens and what Kenny does if you say he should do it.

i did the same thing, i didn't want to put Kenny through the pain of having to shoot his own son

It took me a few minutes to pull the trigger. It felt like I spent a long time just staring at the poor kid. I'm also interested in Kenny's reaction if he does it, I've not tried that yet.

I was going to do it, but after Kat, I decided Kenny needed to suffer a bit more - I was still pissed about the whole "Y U NO HEP ME FAMILEEEE" despite having his back at all turns... so I made him do it.

I pushed it immediately. Dind't care much about Duck tbh....

Also after reading people waited until "he died" I checked, he NEVER stops breathing. He slows down but his lips will move forever. He never stops breathing.

    He stops wheezing. That's when.

I made him do it so he couldnt turn around in Ep 4 and throw it back in my face, as he loves to do

I looked away from the screen, and pulled the trigger immediately.

I actually hadn't thought of that...it does sound like Kenny though.

And I wasn't sure if Duck would stop breathing, I just waited a little while and pulled the trigger.

Yeah, there was that reason too....

I took a moment before offering my services to Kenny and Katjaa. If it were my child, as a father, I'd feel it were my duty to do the deed. Horrible as it is, I'd feel a failure as a father and a lesser man if I passed the burden to anyone else, especially my wife.

When the time finally came, I didn't hesitate to tell Kenny I'd do it for him. Holding the gun it took me a good few seconds, just looking at Duck and thinking "Is this really it? There are no other options left?", when his breathing seemed to stop and his head tilted, I did it. :(

I want to hear reports of a Duck Zombie.
  • edited September 2012
Same, when he stopped breathing for a minute.

Even if you leave Duck in the clearing, you don't see him turn. The only time you see Zombie Duck is if Kenny throws you out of the cab and doesn't stop the train, then Zombie Duck takes out Lee.

My second save, I let Katjaa do it her way, she'd obviously thought it through.

Took me maybe half a minute to do it. Volunteered to do it myself from the start because I couldn't make my friend go through that.

Kenny had to be the one to do it in my opinion. He would surely look at you differently if you kill his son. Maybe this will come into play later on.

I made Kenny do it. I feel sorry for the guy and everything, but he DID leave Shawn to die and murdered Larry.

    There's poetic justice right there.

In any case, Kenny did it after Duck stopped breathing.

I did it because I like shooting people.
Naah, actually, I thought Kenny, even being the asshole that he is, should not be forced to kill his own son.
  • edited September 2012
Can't believe people made him kill his own son, seems pretty twisted to me.

I did it immediately, the kid was suffering and I wanted it over with. ):

I let kenny do it, If it was clem I would be the one to have to shoot her or let her turn not kenny

how do you not stop the train ?

or are you trollin cyreen ?

I originally suggested to Kenny that he do it. As his father it seemed only right, but he ended up being convinced to let Katjaa do it. I thought as emotional as the whole scene was, Katjaa was being brave doing it herself as Kenny had finally begun to process the severity of the situation and was really in no state to be doing it.

When we got to the clearing though, I knew that given the chance again, I'd have to do it myself. I just couldn't put Kenny through that, given what had happened. And lo and behold I did it myself, albeit after a minute or so of hesitation. Poor Duck.

Even more twisted than killing a child? You seem to forget it's just a game and every choice has less of an impact in reality, but would you really do it if it was real? There's no way in knowing.

I gave it around a second just to show Kenny I was having problems with killing Duck (even though I didn't I was laughing my ass of the whole time up to it, and most defentely also after I pulled the trigger)

Had I been given the option I might actually have emptied the whole clip ;)

What Cyduck was talking about is one of the game overs you can get by not confronting Kenny about Duck. He throws you out of the engine and you return to see Zombie Duck killing everyone. Game over.

I made Kenny kill Duck. If I had done it, he would have seen me as "that guy who killed my son" from that point onward.

I asked myself: What would Rick Grimes do?

And then I shot the zombified Duck in the face.

I choose Lee to do it, but when the game actually makes you aim at Duck and shoot, that was the moment for me in this episode where the game truly gets you emotionally invested in these characters and feel some genuine emotion. There's at least one major moment like this one for me in each episode that truly capitalizes on the emotional significance of these character relationships and situations they find themselves in.

It took me 2mins, in my play through i was always an jerk to kenny but after seeing him cry over Katjaa's corpse and ducks infected corpse, I will have kenny's back no matter what

When Lee goes to the cab and talks to Kenny, if you give him the silent treatment rather than a scripted response, first he'll speed up the train and the second time you do it, he pushes you out of the cab and locks the door. The rest is automatic.
    Cyduck

    Wanker.

I almost forgot to call you Cyduck. I felt like a genius when I thought of it, then immediately forgot. So glad it came back to me.

Nuh uh, Milo! You fap YOURSELF!

The minute I saw he had been bitten I was jumping up and down raising my hand telling, "ohh ohh pick me! pick me! I'll do it." Then when I got to shoot Duck I did not hesitate. Screen came up, pulled the trigger, done, lets go have pie.

This episode was very good, the scene with Kenny losing his family really got to me and i felt i was really involved.

I chose to do it myself, the poor guy has been through enough, i am not too hard on Kenny, all he does is trying to protect his family, every father would do the same.

Right! Take train, go to forest, kill Duck (Sorry!)! Grab Kenny, go to the harbor, have a nice cold pint and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?

It was thirty seconds of this going through my mind...

"My dear sweet Carley is gone and left Lilly behind because she murdered her, then found out Duck got bitten and offered his parents to end his suffering myself. However, Katjaa commits suicide and leaves Kenny even a bigger emotional wreck and I'm feeling sorry for him again. Now TTG is making me put the gun cursor over the kid's head in order to keep him from turning... ARGH! I hate and love this game all in the same breath. The only thing that can make this worse is if Ben is the traitor after all and I will throw that f**ker from the train if he did..." *BANG*

My playthrough he does not really say much when you make him do it. He didn't really want me to do it as at the time we were not friends (becuse of the Lilly Dad choice). Anyone else with a similar outcome?
