Ben???

Rat on Ben or not?

1. Tell Kenny and see him rip Ben to pieces.

2. Dont tell on Ben...but risk Kenny finding out somehow and now you have to worry about Kenny.

Idk, who knows what he can do when he's pushed (which may be what he needs) and if it's Kenny doing the pushing, Ben may just step up.

Slim Ben, this shall be how i refer to him from this day on...
But seriously, if we told Kenny that make more problems than we need or maybe Kenny can cry some more. Either way, it'll be bad juju for us.

Well, I mean, whatever it's gonna take. He's so pathetic looking, Clem has more balls than this guy. He's needs to man up a little

Clem is only focused on finding her parents, she may be taking it all in as a secondary thing, plus she has Lee to lean on.
Ben has no one and has no idea how to react but with fear.

    Also, we need more Kleenex.

This is my biggest problem with him. He's young, tall, on the HS varsity.
He has so much potential to add to the group but for whatever reason, is scared shitless.
He *had* no one, we took him in. If that isnt the greatest offering of trust; to be let into a group during the ZA. /sigh

To be fair we found him with a stupid teacher who walked on a bear trap, a boy who claimer his father was ex-special forces, and he had just left an area raided by bandits. I don't think Ben has ever known what to do without guidance.

Also, we haven't been the most inviting bunch to him. He found us when we were starving and bitter, he has also been ridiculed a number of times by those in the group.

Kenny has a right to know... sucks to be Ben.

I'll tell my own secrets, not someone else's. Plus I still like Ben.

Be that as it may, he is in a bit of a depression now. He was willing to kill when he was "normal" and if he snaps it could be danger.
Look at it from a logical view instead of an emotional one.

I am, when Kenny goes crazy and kills Ben in a violent rage, it'll most likely draw all the walkers to him.. giving me a break to head off with Clem away from all of this dead weight.

Looking like Kenny riping "Slim" Ben apart is the fav right now

I'm still on Ben's side in all this, he thought he was protecting us and he was tricked. Aside from all that, like I've been saying, he just needs a good push and the moment to rise in order to prove himself.
Kenny is a lost cause, he's been broken, he's obviously depressed (understandable), and he was in complete denial when Duck needed to be put out of his misery.

I'm also on Ben's side. I don't think Lee should be the one to tell Kenny though, it's up to Ben whether he wants Kenny to know or not, and if Kenny flips shit, I'll have Ben's back. Hope it doesn't come to that, though.

What's done is done, there's nothing that can change it now. While Ben's deeds were naive and ignorant, they weren't done specifically to get anyone hurt or killed.

'Slim Ben' caused 'Car's' death. 'Clemie-Clem' ain't coping well with all this so I'm just gonna tell 'Captain Ken' that 'Lieutenant Lilly' was right, and maybe 'Urban Lee' will get in on tearing that weasel apart like walkers do.
Maybe 'Hobo Chuck' would also join in along with the other newbies 'Child teaser' and 'Mother Hubbard' to prevent Ol' Slim from breaking the group again!

Or...y'know...give the kid a break? Being pushed off that train would be a much simpler alternative.
I can just hear Urban Lee now: "He fell. There was nothing I could do! It happened pretty fast"

Would you have done the same thing? Make a deal with supplies that arent yours; that you didnt get and then give them to a bunch of strangers cause they told you something you wanted to hear without providing any proof? On your own without consulting the group?
And then threaten to attack you if the free supplies dont keep coming?

Kenny hasn't been pushed to the edge. He didn't even care about a "traitor" and wanted Lilly to shut up and move on. I doubt he would try to kill Ben over something that's clearly Lilly's fault.

I just played through the opening chapters of Episode 3 again. Four of the cast members comment that the bandits have stopped attacking for some reason. Kenny, in particular, says that the bandits "have got our number." Ben was the only reason the bandits didn't storm in and kill us in the first place and Kenny knows it.

Won't stop him from going crazy, but he's at least fully aware.

He's going to kill Ben because he caused the ambush that got his son bit and his wife to commit suicide.

I can't imagine Kenny killing Ben for everything he's done stupid to the group. To be honest, I knew that Ben would be very useless in the game.
  • edited September 2012
I think Kenny should know but Ben needs to be the one to tell him. Hell if he nuts up to tell Kenny I would respect him more and he might grow as a character depending on Kenny's reaction.

Ben was scared of Lily. Lily.
You think he's gonna man up to Kenny? Kenny who will fight any and everyone?
Kenny who's family died because of this idiot's fear to do anything about anything?
    lol

    Lilly was scary.

Lily is just an angry woman. Ben is 6+ feet and in the prime of his life.
Everyone is scary with a gun in their hand. Without, what are they?
  • edited September 2012
Thing is, everyone knew Lilly was starting to get a little crazy, so people were probably a bit scared that something they said or did might make her snap. Imagine a crazy woman with a gun on her hands and hatred for people that disagree with her.

Everything about Ep3 beginning was a bit out of our control...
We had no chance to see the Ben/Bandit deal go down or potentially avoid/assist in it
Lily's pain was probably very raw from ep2 but we never got to help her deal with it because she went into a rage about supplies as soon as we got back... I supposed it was arranged in that fashion for the kick intended

It ends with people getting shot, as we've been shown.

If i actually thought they had someone i knew, without a doubt, especially after everyone i knew was lost to me within a day. The group would have told him no, with the lack of supplies they had going on they have none to spare. Can you honestly tell me that if there was a slim chance someone you knew was alive and held hostage you would say "fuck it," because the group said no?

He kept them at bay and by the time he realized he was being fulled he couldn't end it or everyone would end up dead. Lee moved those supplies, that's why they attacked. As for the whole K/D thing, Ken wanted them out of there already. Chances are they would have died on the road to that damn boat.

With all due respect, I would never have you in my group. Your selfishness would eventually get everyone killed
I dont know why you keep going under the assumption the group will reject you when you havent even presented the problem to them. You are part of that group, they need you as much as you need them and they watch out for you like everyone else. A group needs to stick together and act as one in order to survive in ZA, no cops or authorities to sort out this kind of stuff

I think Ben having to live with witnessing the results of his actions is punishment enough.
