Bringing up Game Menu Restarts the Game, All Progress Lost

I mean honestly, if I had known something as innocent as bringing up the game menu so I could get a rundown on the controls would cause me to lose all my progress I wouldn't have bothered buying the game in the first place. As it is I am completely hosed.

The game isn't so great that I would actually want to play those 2 hours over again.

How do you guys put up with the utter lack of support and the longstanding bugs in this game?

Thanks for nothing, Telltale. What a waste of money. I'll be making sure to warn everyone I know that they shouldn't buy this product.

    Don't be a vapid fanboy.

I'm out $25 and two hours of effort because the software is bugged. I have every right to be upset.

Why the hell would I play it again?

I'm not someone who has nothing better to do than play games for hours on end. I have a life, work in the morning, etc. That two hours of game time is likely the only time I'll have for the better part of this week.

well then have fun complaining and wasting money, when you could just easily play it one more time

STFU. You have nothing useful to offer.

What are you expecting? A refund? Someone to pat you on the back and tell you it's ok? A Miracle?

Wrong forum. Try here. And OP you aren't helpful yourself. You bitch around as if it was a common problem. That's the first time I ever read about entering the menu restarting the game. So it is most likely on your end. You did not post your OS, specs etc. etc. maybe your current system isn't even supported. how would we know? you did not provide any information whatsoever.

I've played the first two episodes, via Wine through Linux, which isn't a supported platform. I've not encountered ANY bugs.

It's somewhat disrespectful and rude to immediately jump straight onto the forum and blast Telltale, before asking anybody else if this was/is a common problem. Have you even tried bringing this so-called "bug" to Telltale's attention?

Happens to me too from time to time...

You can alt - F4 out of the game, then rewind to the second last chapter... that way you dont have to play from the very beginning...

Thanks! That at least saves me from having to replay the whole thing over again. Lots of users complaining about this issue here and elsewhere on the net (I googled extensively before posting). Amazing that they'll let a bug like this go for so many months.

This game is broken! It's not like I want to play it or anything! Stupid! I don't even like you Telltale! Oh, you got the game to work? I might play it, but that doesn't mean I like you or anything, Telltale!

Can't believe people are attacking him for complaining about a bug in a game that he paid for

I'm making fun of how clear he makes it that he hates the game then gets really excited to play it again.

Don't be an ass. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand the "weighty" concept that a cool game might have a debilitating bug that prevents you from enjoying it. As I noted above the game is aesthetically and from a story perspective quite good, it just has serious bugs that damn well ought to have been addressed by now.

Welcome to vapid fanboyism--a phenomenon which accounts for much of the decline in the quality of commercial software entertainment.

Who said I didn't agree? But your posts do run hot and cold like a squeaky voiced seiyuu. I've encountered two bugs myself and fixed both without the forum's help. Only in Back To The Future did I have a gamestopping bug that I needed a patch for, but it was available the same day before I even asked for it.

Ass or not, I really hope you enjoy the game.

This happened to me too when i first strted to play it, just go to the "rewind" section and it will fastforward you to your last checkpoint, if you quit the game and re-launch it quick enough

Yes? Oh i thought you called.

Anyway =p I'm having the same problem. I've had to replay 3 times so far...and that's just episode 1. It's a great game but I'm starting to regret the purchase.

Edit: I don't understand the immature bashing of the OP. He, just like us, paid MONEY for a game. If that game doesn't work as it should, something should be done about it asap.

I had the same problem. All savegames lost, and I had to start all over. Its a common bug if you check out the support forum, so the insults towards the OP might be better directed at Telltale for not fixing a bug this debilitating. They've been aware of it since a few days after the launch of episode 2, and they still haven't fixed it. People have written them emails and they have been ignored. It's just shitty customer service.

So you assuming I'm an extremist by one post is better then me pointing out that somebody was clearly being a fanboy (calling a gamer with a bug names because he said something bad about this game boohoo)

Loooool what does that make you then? A troll? A 'extremist' think you need to learn what that means bud.

You fool to the highest degree, I will ignore idiots like you from now on but I'm sure you will be sitting here itching to post back :p

    Rite?

Just itching to start a internet forum fight lol good life you must have.

Ill let you get back to it, you can reply if you want but I won't bother reading :) kiss kiss

Sure you won't read. You wouldn't have typed this much if I hadn't pushed the hell out of a button and you didn't care what people thought of you. This forum has really pushed people into a binary of "fanboys" and "whiners". It's really stupid.

You guys aren't even arguing, just posting labels on each other and feeling accomplished.

You might have added him to your ignore list, however I have to agree. That was a troll comment of no purpose other than to be inflammatory. If that's how you feel, than please do ignore it rather than posting abuse.
