I think Christa's got her act together. Chuck seems wise, but I don't trust him. Omid... well... every team needs a mascot.
  • edited September 2012
Hell no they are awful lol Christa is a bitch, Omid now has a bad leg, and Chuck is a worthless hobo :p
  • edited September 2012
Lets see what we've got here:
Lee is still Lee, Clem is still Clem
Kenny, we can probably stick a fork in him
Ben, I hope Kenny sticks a (pitch)fork in him
Chuck is old n kinda scary
Meat Shields #1 and #2...ya the future's not lookin so bright :(

I'm calling it now, Chuck is going to be either a badass or a wise secondary/primary leader. I don't think he's prone to making rash or dangerous decisions. Whether or not he was a hobo has no baring in an apocalyptic world. Also, Christa seems solid and although overbearing she means well. I see Omid as character very akin to Glenn.

Also take into account that Chuck has survived alone for the first 3 1/2 months of the apocalypse and Christa and Omid have done it together. If the comic has taught me anything, the smaller the group of the survivors and the longer they've lasted, the more dangerous/batshit crazy they are.

I'm with you on all these points. Christa seems to have Clem in mind for the most part, her "you can't be too careful" comment may have been harsh but i'm sure she meant well, Omid seems the comic type who wants spirits high, and chuck...well, chuck seems like a bad ass wise man to me, let's give them time.

Charles and Omid are okay,i don't like Christa, She is Lilly V.2.0

Omid, dude, you leave Ep3 on a broken leg? You might as well came into the scene wearing a Red Shirt...Civil War memorabilia...wth?? lol
I never thought of that but if Christa can act as babysitter for Clem/ replace Kat in that regards, awesome.
I'd like to see more Kenny/Lee, Chuck/Lee exploration of the area, looking for places to settle in for the winter.
I would need some kind of fireside scene where Omid and Christa tell us their real story, not that summary we got in Ep3

But she's probably a little nicer considering that she gets laid sometimes, and Lilly didn't.

Jokes aside - I like Christa. We probably don't need another Lilly, but so far, I like her strong attitude. We need more people like her and less of Ben in team.

With the exception of Clem and possibly Kenny, the rest I don't really care about.

    P.S. Omid is Doug V.2.0 :D

Well personally i only care for Celementine currently... and maybe a little bit for Kenny, because i feel sad for him now... and well, Ben... because i can understand why he did that about the bandits and overall he seems like a nice guy.

Chuck seems like a pedophile by the way he talked about Clem and i don't like pedophiles. He is also an alcoholist, i don't like alcoholists.

Then there is this Christa and Omid... i don't really like them yet... nothing special about them so far and they don't seem to be happy to be there with us. Their text is also white, just like Lee's, so it makes me think they will most probably die soon. Everyone else had distinct text color so far, but they both have white.

From what I can tell, the new team certainly sucks compared to what you had at the start of the Episode. Katjaa had some medical skills, Doug was good at tech and improvising, and Carley and Lilly were good shots. Chuck has 2 1/2 months of experience at surviving alone and had good advice so he'll probably be good, but Omid and Christa haven't shown any positive skills yet that I've noticed, and Omid in particular gave me a bad impression. He seems to be a bit of a coward since he didn't jump on the train when he needed to and when he snaps at you for helping him first instead of Christa despite his leg it shows that he doesn't have good sense...unless Christa is pregnant which would be a big problem but I'll assume she's not for now. I think Christa could turn out okay since from talking to her she seems to be more knowledgeable about what's going on and what to do.

Actually, between Omid's bad leg and Christa's attitude I'm not expecting them to last for long, and besides, I only really care about Clem, Kenny, and Chuck at this point.

Remember Chuck gave us the advice, but I still think its weird he says "if I see another little girl die itll do me in"

I don't understand why nearly everyone say: "Christa is a bitch/ugly....". Just be patient how she work out in episode 4 because there we can see more of her.

The new team does not suck. Granted there is a lot of grief over the loss of so many good characters in e3 but the burden of measuring up to past characters should not be placed on Charles, Christa and Omid.

If you give them a chance you may find:

Charles - is an experienced survivor that offers up good recommendations without ordering you around. He favors teamwork and even corrected Kenny at the overpass about us being a crew. I kinda like the way he plays the guitar too.

Omid - He's positive and a scrounger type like Glenn. Unfortunately, he got injured trying to help us.

Christa - Is an attractive and friendly survivor. She looks fondly upon Clem too. Depending on your choices she can be friendly. Just treat her like someone you just met. Don't be too nosey and try the "..." now and again. Build bridges not walls.
  • edited September 2012
It's funny how people just hate characters they've met like 10 minutes ago.
I do not know anything about them yet so why would I judge them?

My first impression is basically the same as Kiel555.
  • edited September 2012
    Christa was.... friendly?

    What choices did you make?
  • edited September 2012
Christa wasn't exactly friendly, but she wasn't not friendly either... I don't know, she just seems to care about Clem and hopes you know what you're doing with the kid. That's why she acts the way she does.

Well, I liked Omid, but I feel that broken leg of his is gonna be getting in our way, unfortunately =/

Charles ('cause I'm fancy) seems to be the coolest so far. He looks like a person with a lot of experience and advices to share and help Lee out.

Kenny seems to be depressed and angry, I'm hoping he doesn't do anything stupid that could impair the group...

Ben... well, I still like him, hope I can trust him and he can trust me so the incident on episode 3 doesn't repeat itself. Kinda want to make him my new Bro, since Doug's gone =(

    What choices did you make?

    I selected:

    "could be who are you?"
"not in the mood for new people"
"Been with her since this all started"
"..." when Christa asks if the other are okay
"plan is to cut the tanker down"

I did not explore ALL the dialogue options. Didn't ask her what she and Omid were talking about. Didn't tell her Clem received pistol training (although I don't think this is a problem).

When she arrives at the depot station and comments how you and Clem dropped 3 walkers I chose "...". When she goes to check outside responded with "me too".

At the train, saved Omid first.

I like that Christa is a no-nonsense sort of survivor, but Omid's joking with you about everything. Man, they're going to die so horribly.

In a zombie apocalypse you don't really have a lot of choise who you team up with, all help is welcome even if it's just to cap someone in the leg to keep the zombies of your own ass (s2-ep3 reference). It'll all work out!
  • edited September 2012
What do you say about Ben and Chuck, because when they asked me about what's wrong with them I told them Kenny's story, but I don't know the others:confused:
  • edited September 2012
I honestly think I don't know enough about the new people yet to judge.

I mean, sure we've talked but I haven't seen them in a fight and I haven't seen them hungry.

Christa seems forceful, I just pray she's not Lily 2.0.
Omid seems alright and cheerful, hopefully he isn't hiding anything
Kenny is a bro and if Lee helps him get over what happened, he will be a big help.
Not really seen Ben fight, doesn't really seem to contribute much to the group.
Finally Chuck seems wise and helpful but may turn nasty. Maybe when he loses his temper or gets drunk?

Don't know. I chose "..." and when I did Clem then said the rest of the group was okay. I just didn't want to be on record as saying Kenny, Ben or Chuck was okay.
  • edited September 2012
Most likely it won't happen, but my preference from now on is for Lee, Clem and Kenny to go it alone. I can't imagine Kenny lasting the whole distance though. If Ben survives episode 4 it will be a travesty.

These new guys are just... blargh. I know it's too early to have such condemning opinion, but they are nowhere near as half as endearing as the original group and they don't seem particularly trustworthy.

Yeah, she came off as to bloody abrasive so I was like..later for her. Plus I am pretty sure she is pregnant.

I think that has to do with her stand off attitude and why Omid was so happy to see a little girl, and also why he got so upset when you saved him instead of his wife.

The last thing the group needs is a husband/wife team like Kenny and his wife. When families get into groups its bad news. If anyone dies the others go crazy rouge.

I still think chuck is a child molester.

Seriously. This man had candy ready on his person and he sneaks off telling little girls they are going to die.

    Who does that?

I mean I know he did the whole "I don't want to see another little girl die" bit but...there is something sneaky about him.

We will see in EP 4 if this team sucks, so far I just hope the guy with the broken leg dies off this he will slow down the team.

Personally I don't think along the lines of "what asset do they bring to the group?" I'm thinking about characterization, and I think that their personalities are all just as engaging as the other characters we've met so far.

I'm not to excited about this new team

I don't think we know enough about the new guys to make that kind of decision yet. People are complex and don't display all of their skills, reactions and how they deal under constant pressure on first impressions or a few conversations.

I mean look at Kenny he was everyone’s bro in the first episode, after episode 2 though some people had second thoughts.
  • edited September 2012
I told Christa we might be trouble. Then, I said we aren't in the mood for new people, and I told her to mind her own business in the train station. Sounds like a good relationship. Shame that Omid got injured. He's like Glenn. I don't like Chuck's morality, but I won't shoot him.
  • edited September 2012
Chuck seems like the Yoda of the zompox telling Lee how to survive and keep Clem safe although I do wonder what other little girl he saw get killed.

Omid is the love child of Duck and Ben so no, just no ok.

Christa is well, a grade A witch, but a witch with potential.

I've already told Clem were going our own way so we'll see how that works out, maybe take Chuck so he can fight radio guy over Clem if thats their prefrence.

anyone else have a problem with christa claiming to be an expert on everything ?

she turns up with her 'whipped' boyfriend saying they don't want a group, no supplies with them, both take a liking to clem and tell lee how to raise her, saying you do this n that all in the first 5 minutes..of meeting us..

she then waits till we handled the station walkers to show up to continue her berating of lee's choices.. personally i think they are connected to mr x on the walkie...

I was kinda wondering why she didn't get off her butt and go with Lee and Clem in the first place. Then to criticize them for going...

    Lilly 2.0
  • edited September 2012
Well, she's obviously doing something right.

If you check the splash screen for Episode 4, you see her, Lee and Kenny in the sewer....

I mean, I'm not saying that proves she's awesome or anything, but she's clearly not fodder. (no sign of Chuck, Ben or Omid in that screen)

All I'm gonna say is that survivors offer a horrible first impression, but you'll end up loving them by the time they die.

My first exposure to TWD was the TV series, so when Rick first meets Glen - I did not like him, Andrea? Nope.. Now I love every single one of those characters

Same here, when you first run into Lilly, Glen, Carley, Doug and Larry the first impression is horrible, you don't want to be stuck with these people, and by the end of the episode you like most of them.
