Need som help on this tech issue!

edited September 2012 in The Walking Dead
First of all the game does not start when i run it as an admin in steam. I checked the run as admin box in the game.exe file aswell. It did not start.

I read that i should run it compability: windows98/me i did and it started in a windowed mode (small res) when i put it back to full res it was still in windowed mode but was playable.. When i started the game it asked me if i wanted random choices form the previous episodes i clicked no since i played both ep1 , 2 before. and nothing happened then i saw my save files were not there in game. So does anyone else have this issue? and does anyone know how to fix it so my save files form my previous saves (i had 2 different) shows up in episode 3 so i dont have to replay both ep 1 and 2 again!?

I really want to play Ep.3! But i dont want it to be some "random scenario" from before just because the game decided to not read my save files from before.

thank you

Ps: Yes i have tried to do what the faq says... About the save files i have not seen a fix for it.

(PC/steam User ofc)

Well, when you change into compatibility mode the existing saves are usually ignored by games. I am unsure why this happens or how to deal with it other than changing back/disabling compatibility mode.

Also, why are you running on windows 98? Have you attempted XP?

If the game does not run you can try to right click the game on steam and "verify game cache" to make sure all the files are there as intended.
