Did Anyonelse Get The Animal Crackers?

edited October 2012 in The Walking Dead
I think about maybe 5% of the people playing the game, even knew you could find animal crackers in Ep. 3. It is actually part of the trailer, you sort of have to go out of your way when you are investigating the train with Ben. You have to go all the way up tp the front of the train and then find a car with a walker in it and then find a way to kill it. Then you give the animal crackers to Katjaa, it doesn't affect the story in any way though.

:D

    Yes

It's more of a mini puzzle, somewhat like the radio in episode 1. Not necessary, but there if you want to play.

What was the point of it? Giving it to Duck was surely stupid as he was clearly not up to it. Could of atleast scavenged Katjaa's body for it when she died...for Clementine's sake ;)

    I missed them.

As in I didn't even know about them until after I had finished the episode. lol

i missed it the first time, but i think its because of the way i play adventure games, i try and solve every puzzle i come across with as little moving around as possible, i guess i'm not used to adventure games where you don't have to do every puzzle to proceed with the story

I guess that makes 3 of us. I didn't see you could click the cab door to get down the train over the other way, so I only knew about the existence of animal crackers watching a playthrough on youtube, but that didn't even bother me since their sole purpose is to be given to Duck...

I randomly came across it during my first playthrough, so I nearly missed it :D XD

I got them but was kind of disappointed. So much work for so little reward. I just wished things like this would get recognized later.....

I got the animal crackers on my first play-through.

I got them in my first playthrough. And died once.
  • edited September 2012
I got them in my second playthrough by going through the train cab.

I jumped out of my skin at that scene though. It's all nice and quiet as Lee climbs down the ladder then all of a sudden a walker screams at you.
I enjoyed turning it's brain to mush.

Oh and yeah, That scene made me jump even on my 2nd playthrough of the episode...

I tried to save the crackers thinking I could give them to Clementine to eat on the train journey but the game removed it from my inventory after Duck's departure. I didn't see the point in feeding someone that was dying. If I was turning into a walker the last thing I would want to do is a packet of crisps.

Forget the kids, it's been YEARS since I've had Animal Crackers. Come to Lee!

Yeah, I got the crackers, but not before getting killed by the zombie one time first.

I found them only because I didn't find the tools to separate the train cars for a long time. I thought I missed something, so I walked around and found the front of the train, and the car, and the crackers ... which didn't help with the train cars either.

I liked that puzzle because I spent some time staring at the zombie thinking how dumb it would be to die going after some crackers ... but I really wanted them.

My first play through, I decided a box of animal crackers wasn't worth it considering they'd been in a car with a dead guy for three months. I got 'em the second time through no problem.

I got them, shame they only existed for Duck, I wanted Lee to eat them. 3 1/2 months without animal crackers is just cruel.

I like how telltale puts these puzzles in, I just wish they'd add more to the game--but episode 4 HAS to because they have to make the climax as big as possible, probably going to have massive diverging.

Maybe in episode 5. Earlier than that seems impossible to follow up with continuity.

Same here, the first time I gave them to Duck, but kept them in the second save file. Episode 4 features Lee with an animal cracker addiction followed by withdrawl symtoms, at least in my mind;)

I got em but it was only a final meal for Duck, so to speak

Kinda sweet, with a distinct hint of decomposed zombie.

What about the food situation now? They've left all their food at the motel...

Aren't they gonna starve pretty soon again?

Unless they find food in Savanahh...

    Gross.

Finance has nothing to do with it!

tell tale would disagree master ;)

on my first run of ep 3 i didn't know about the trains side entrance at first so went round the front of it and saw/heard the walker, so checked it out lol

To be honest, i hoped the cure for the virus would be inside the animal crackers and they would save duck :P

Maybe Katjaa would say "Hmm if i mix Duck's allergy to bee's with animal crackers, i might just find the cure!"
  • edited September 2012
I diddn't knew what to do with the zombie first. So I walked around. but I could hear the zombie almost everywhere.

The worst part is to be near Katjaa and Duck and hear zombie moaning in the background. (No wonder Katjaa shot her self.)

That's thinking outside the box, some people may call you crackers but not I:D

With Walkers cooking the meals you order. :) ;)

Edit...just to leave a message about the topic itself. :P

Found the crackers too, although the walker scared the crap out of me lol.I was looking around with my mouse and found a icon to get to the other side of the train. Its a pity cracker's destiny was to be eaten by Duck. :P

It probably doesn't serve much purpose. Probably flavor for the narrative. Wouldn't be surprised if it added to some minor "affection points" that are unseen to the player. Seemingly like plenty of other choices that don't appear to have much impact.
