I don't know if better weapons are relevant to the story. I wouldn't want TWD to feel like Duke Nukem.

what do you mean by better? shotguns, rocket launchers, LMG's, a minigun or chainsaws, katanas, machetes and crossbows?

Yeah, they put the plasma rifle in earlier levels in the secret areas well before they have one out in the open. Always a good idea to go for the secret areas in the levels so you're better equipped on the next level.

A melee weapon is an individual's best option, effective and it doesn't draw attention.

Maybe in Savannah the groups raids a weapons store or something.

Lee HAD an awesome melee weapon. Nothing can replace my beloved axe :(

even just a trusty knife would be handy and you could stab zombie brains with it

Lee needs a hatchet or a knife like Daryl from the Tv show.
  • edited September 2012
Yes, it is good if a sharp knife is given.

In episode 4, it turns out that Kenny's "boat" is actually a nuclear submarine.

I'm surprised they haven't gotten a set of hammers, axes, crowbars and heavy wrenches....

There's tons of anti-zombie weaponry in just one typical garage...

They'd be decently armed if Lee would stop leaving behind weapons each episode!

Shotgun, hammer & ice pick in Episode 1.
    Fire axe & sickle/meat hook/taser in Episode 2.
And he's likely lost his spanner/wrench in Episode 3.

    Tsk, tsk Lee Everett.

If they want to do more shooting and less ringing the walker bell, they should've use gun silencers.

When I got my hands on that hammer in Episode 1, I went all Saggitarian on that babysitter. Loved that hammer almost as much as the fire axe.

    "I like swords!"

Nothing beats a good crowbar for melee against zombies.

This would be the better wep for that situation-

This. Im not trying to get the 'high score' in the ZA- survival alone would be nice

And attracts a herd...game over. Guns and zombies only mix in FPS.
Unless that weapon store is Fort Knox, the guns will only act as a dinner bell for walkers.

I'd probably go for a halberd myself
  • edited September 2012
My weapon of choice would be a nice solid wrench.

Bladed weapons are just going to get stuck in bone, and long handled weapons are suicide in small areas.

I do agree with Max Brooks that a trench spike is an awesome anti-zombie weapon. But I want to stay as far away as possible.

I would accept shotguns and assault rifles.

A good ol' fashioned native war tomahawk. Lightweight, lethal and swinging it won't tire you out like an axe would; it's also well balanced for throwing. A fit individual could easily dispatch dozens of walkers in no time flat.

If there is a museum of anthropology in the area I would go looking for a Zulu Knobkerrie. Absolutely lethal.

A Gurkha Kukhri would do the trick as well; they're all over the place, I see them in antique stores all over. Very effective and it won't get stuck in a skull

I hear ya.. Melee weapons work and don't attract more walkers.. But, means you must be face to face with them.

    I'm all for silencer's and/or Bow's..

    I think I'd like a pickaxe.

I'll go with a survival knife, an AK-47, an M16 rifle, a SPAS-12 shotgun, an M72 LAW, and a Walther PPK with a gun silencer. With all these weapons I'll take out a bunch of bandits, cannibals, and walkers, James Bond and Robert Muldoon style!
