Just thinking Ducks bite look more like a hicky and he was bite while wearing a shirt could the actually dirty teeth penetrate his flesh?

So any type of contact makes you a zombie? Example a zombie scratching you???

it looked to me like they were deep teeth marks and it wouldn't be hard to bite through his clothes

It's more that the bite has some inherent poisonous quality that will kill you. You become a zombie no matter how you die, unless your brain was destroyed.

Also, this should be in the spoiler forum and have a less spoilery title. So I'm gonna do that.

I think it's basically any untreated infection will eventually kill you. I'm not so sure about scratches, I don't think that's ever been really shown in the comic. It's mostly bites and natural death (some decapitations and other bizarre outliers too). Anyway, I think it was just a bad looking graphic. It didn't bother me.

I dont even think it's any specific virus, everyone is infected after all

I think it's similar to those komodo dragons, their saliva is so rancid and full of infection it can kill you very quickly depending on which bugs live on the rotten meat in it's teeth.

Sounds like walker logic to me.

This is what I've always believed as well...but if they're dead, and only basic motor functions exist. How is saliva being produced without a digestive system?
Maybe it's more the bacteria/virus that coats them is all that's needed to enter an open wound to accelerate the decay?
Maybe Im thinking too much and should merely handwave all of that away
