Is there any difference...

If you save Carley or the nerdy guy?
I decided to save the nerd as I think his profession in technology may come in handy.

Right now I've finished episode 1 (game)

Here's my latest video to see where I'm up to:

Slight variations in dialogue, and actually a somewhat important difference if you have Carley alive in episode 3 that impacts dialogue choices with the other characters.

Honestly, it's probably not going to make too much of a difference. If you replay through the game, just try again with Carley alive. Have fun.

I saved Carley because I felt she had the most chance of being saved, plus I thought her skills with the gun would be very useful. That's it.

    overall, no major differences.

They should really release a DLC pack with more story paths and impacts

They do the same things in a sense, but in their own way.

For instance, in a scene at the begining of episode 3
both help Lee fend off Walkers, but differently. Carley gets out her done and clears out half the area for Lee, while Doug had set up a special alarm prior and can tell Lee where the Walkers are so he can fend off perfectly, he also boots up the car faster I think

Well, the biggest difference I think is

    EPISODE 3 SPOILERS

If you save Carley, you have the option to tell the group about your past. If you saved Doug, you don't get that option and everyone gets angry at you for concealing the murder when Lilly tells everyone at the RV scene.

and yet in the end of that same Ep. It only mattered a tiny bit because most of the group is dead or gone.

If this wasnt the biggest reason for me to replay as Carley; and further proof of how more useful she is vs Doug I dont know what is. I actually had 2 play throughs but after that little option I decided to make my Carley playthrough my 'official choice'

    More Ep. 3 Spoilers:
When you have to fend off the walkers at the Motel, Carley will take care of the walkers approaching the left side of the RV so you only have to worry about the right side. Without her you have to cover both sides making it more of a challenge.
