Yeah, I loved The Journey Down. It has that old school feel to it, an almost Grim Fandango-esque atmosphere, good puzzles and it flows really well. To me personally it's also a major plus that it's available for Linux. I only hope they'll be able to produce chapters more frequently than fellow Swedish developer Cockroach Inc (The Dream Machine). It's a bit frustrating to wait almost a year between installments of an episodic game.
This is actually REALLY good. It's EXTREMELY funny and the mechanics they use to really blend the styles of game, and not just shoe-horn Serious Sam-like abilities into a typical menu-based RPG, make this a really worthwhile thing to play. I recommend it.
I found it quite enjoyable. I had a few bugs but this version seems to be updated, I'll be sure to check out. It is definitely worth the few bucks you'll put in it.
The last deal was Fotonica, but I guess everyone was as uninterested as me in it, since it didn't get any mention here.
The new deal looks pretty interesting though, even if I'm not sure it's really my kind of game:
It's got a Metascore of 79, and is redeemable on both Desura and Steam. As far as I can tell it's not currently on Steam, not even on Greenlight, so I'm not sure what that means.
I wish more of these titles were available for Linux as I think that would be a really good selling point for many of them, since there are currently a lot fewer games sharing the spotlight.
They recommend $10 for all games because that gets you the current game, the previous game, and the next game as part of their "make it a bundle" deal.
Cognition: Episode 1 is the current deal on IndieGameStand. They switched deals about 6 hours ago, but didn't send out an e-mail this time. Or at least I didn't get one.
Just a heads up - there appears to be a problem with people paying with PayPal (alliteration FTW!).
The game doesn't show up in your Game Wallet, despite you buying it. If you do pay using PayPal, you'll need to open a support ticket and let them know. Make sure you include your Transaction ID from the PayPal receipt.

Huh, I didn't even notice that. I bought it earlier, but now that you mention it, there's no e-mail confirmation and (like you said) it's not in my Game Wallet. Thanks for the heads up.
EDIT: I got my game within half an hour. That was pretty fast.
To be fair, there's been a lot of very uninteresting titles lately. I think there were a few deals around the time they had the Wyv and Keep deal that came from suggestions on their forums that were worth checking out, but we might have forgotten about them too.
The game where you... well, you build bridges. And then they fall apart because you suck at building bridges. But it's funny, so you do it again and... well, you get the idea.
I remember having a lot of fun with their first bridge builder game ("Bridge Builder") over a decade ago. It's freeware and is worth checking out if you can find it and get it to run. Like Darth Marsden says it can be great fun to see your bridge building efforts fail spectacularly.
EDIT: It's strange that it's not mentioned though, because their announcement from three days ago saying they reached the #25 spot on Greenlight says:
Bridge It is also on sale at the IndieGameStand: https://indiegamestand.com/ and Steam keys will be provided as described on their page if Bridge It gets Greenlit.
Beat the average ($1.85 at time of writing) to also get SpyLeaks, an equally old-school puzzle game, the soundtrack for Spyleaks and Miner Warfare, a "2D action multiplayer experience".
So if you got Cognition through IndieGameStand a while back (it's one of the games I didn't mention, sadly), then you may have been pleasantly surprised to receive an e-mail offering 30% off a Season Upgrade from the Phoenix Online store, which knocks it down from $20 to $14.
I won't share the code, but it's actually really cool of them to do that. So yeah. Just thought I'd mention it.
I thought it looked interesting so I gave it a chance. I'm also more likely to buy games with Linux versions so there's that.
It's true that the control system is intuitive. There's just the wasd keys to swim and arrow keys to control the flashlight if you choose keyboard controls. The latter might have been more smooth but they were ok.
The game is very short. There seems to be large areas to cover but you move fast and I finished the chapter in about twenty minutes. I was probably a bit lucky in which areas I started exploring but there's only three or four "puzzles" to solve before you reach the end. Taking that into consideration I wouldn't spend too much on this title. I enjoyed it though and since it's still work i progresss I think it was worth the $3 I paid.
It was in one of the most recent Humble Bundles too. I've heard good things about it and have downloaded it both for my tablet and the Linux version from Steam, so it's on my to play list.
Comments
It's a turn-based RPG based on the FPS series. It actually looks pretty interesting.
Agreed. This is a really fun one.
It's a SHMUP, and that's where I lose interest.

It's a co-op based 2D platformer. Looks quite good, actually. Steam Greenlight page, which has more videos.
EDIT: Yep, Alpha Collection #1
Also, obligatory repost of SilverWolfPet's Blind Let's Play. Hilarity ensues!

Here's the latest deal:
It's a Metroidvania style game. That's all it took to get me on board!
It'd be easier if they had more deals and games worth caring about. I see the deals and mostly just don't find myself caring enough to share it.
To be fair, there's been a lot of very uninteresting titles lately. I think there were a few deals around the time they had the Wyv and Keep deal that came from suggestions on their forums that were worth checking out, but we might have forgotten about them too.
It's a twin-stick shooter, so that's me out.
It's Pixelry, a medieval RPG based around jousting. Heres the trailer.
The game where you... well, you build bridges. And then they fall apart because you suck at building bridges. But it's funny, so you do it again and... well, you get the idea.
Also, it's not mentioned on Indie Game Stand, but Bridge It is on Steam Greenlight.
EDIT: It's strange that it's not mentioned though, because their announcement from three days ago saying they reached the #25 spot on Greenlight says:
It's an old-school RPG. I am so in!
Beat the average ($1.85 at time of writing) to also get SpyLeaks, an equally old-school puzzle game, the soundtrack for Spyleaks and Miner Warfare, a "2D action multiplayer experience".

It's a two-player platform racer. Beat your opponent to the top of the tower!
This is actually an Alpha, so if you do get it, expect updates.
It's a top-down squad-based tactical shooter, similar to Cannon Fodder and the like (only more serious).
This is actually the Alpha, but if you get it, you'll get regular updates and the full game once it's done.
Beat the average ($1.27 at time of writing) to also get the OST and some wallpapers. Woo.
Need I say more?
Beat the average to get the soundtrack.
It's an underwater exploration game, and it's not finished (1 of 5 chapters are done), but it'll be updated as time goes on with the rest of the game.
Beat the average to get the soundtrack and two prototypes.
It's true that the control system is intuitive. There's just the wasd keys to swim and arrow keys to control the flashlight if you choose keyboard controls. The latter might have been more smooth but they were ok.

This one's on Desura, GOG AND Steam, so getting it here will give you keys for all three.
Beat the average to get the soundtrack, some posters and some wallpapers.
"a side-scrolling customizable card game set in a fantasy world". Card game? Well, that's me out.
Beat the average to get Deleted Scenes, the soundtrack and some wallpapers.
