    This would help.

I'm having the same problem playing it on pc. It shows a save slot has been used but just starts back at the very beginning when I click on it the next day.

    Sorry...on PC as well

    PC

Really frustrating. I've played the beginning of episode 1 several times and only made it to the end once. After some point, whenever I press Esc, every option I chose starts the episode over from the beginning; even "Exit Game". I can kill the process, start the game again, and the save file starts me at the beginning of episode 1.

Are you running Windows Vista, 7, or 8? 32 bit or 64 bit?

I'm on PC with no issues, however there are suggestions to remedy this in the support forum:

The PC "restarting from chapter one" issue has happened to me a couple of times, seemingly at random. As far as I can see, there's no known fix aside from hoping that your game doesn't reset.

If it helps, it's never happened to me during chapter three -- it's hit midway through chapter one a few times and once during chapter two. It didn't happen during my first playthrough. Best thing you can do is instead of clicking the "continue" button, try clicking the "rewind" button. If it's saved a few checkpoints, click on the most recent one and hopefully you'll be fine.

    Thanks Cyreen.

I'm using Win7 x64. I'll try out the suggestions from the support forum.

This fix is similar to the one that was already posted. I had the exact same issue you are having and this fix worked for me:

Look at the first post by Siezemore on the 1st page for the fix.
