This...this is a masterpiece!

edited December 2012 in The Walking Dead
Ok I just finished Episode 1 and all I have to say is WOW!

Did I enjoy it?Of course!Did I like the fact that it's not a typical kill-all-zombies fest thing?Of course!

The choices you make, the time you have to make them, the characters...I just love this game!

I know it's still in the beginning but I already care for the characters.Few games captivated my attention that well and made me feel like I'm in there.

The only complaint I have is that Episode 1 was too short.I mean it's ok for an episode if there's gonna be a season two,but I thought it would be bigger.Just like the first episode of Tales of Monkey Island.

But as a zombie movie and games enthusiast I must tell you that I LOVED this game already!

Well done Telltale.Well done guys.

The others get a little longer. And I certainly hope you haven't run across any spoilers, as the stuff that happens in the next episodes are...well... find out.
  • edited September 2012
No,I didn't get any major spoilers I've only watched the "next on Walking Dead" video when the game ended.Oh and the game went into a loop after the end,I kept pressing Exit Game and it kept reseting on its own.I do hope the next ones are longer!

Anyone wants to see my stats? :P

You thought episode 1 was great? Wait until you play episodes 2 and 3.
  • edited September 2012
I...I want to play them but I want to wait until December just in case Telltale really releases them all on DVD.I'm already waiting for Back to the Future and 3 seasons of Sam and Max to come and I already got Jurassic Park and started it.

But I can easily tell you I absolutely 100% LOVED Walking Dead episode 1!!

    A new acolyte!

You haven't played The Devil's Playhouse?! I'm almost kinda jealous...
  • edited September 2012
Haha why jealous Cyreen? You'd wanna go back to the beginning and play it without knowing it?Truth is I've never played any Sam and Max game before.
The only Telltale game I've had for a long time is Tales of Monkey Island.I just ordered all the others last week.

Welcome! you're in for a real treat and get ready for an emotional rollercoaster.
Episodes 2 and 3 lasted around three hours for me but I'm someone who checks every small thing and talks to everyone,I don't want to miss anything :D

I thought it would be a bit more...bigger as a game.

If you add all episodes together you could have 12-15 hours.
For me that's pretty good considering a lot of the higher priced games can only last you between 6-10 hours.

Yeah that's true. It's sad that remarkable games are harder to find these days. Some of the last amazing games I finished are Dead Space 2 and Amnesia the dark descent(last night that one).Too bad some people in big companies think graphics are all a game should have.

I love all the characters in the game too.Except for Lilly's dad. He's such a...you know.

If your nice to Larry and Lilly, you might see a more kinder side to him...
  • edited September 2012
He's an asshole. If you shine him up, he's bearable, but he's still an asshole.

A gentle reminder to be careful with spoilers.Let's allow him/her to decide how they want to interact with the characters they meet.

No need to tell him/her if shining up assholes will have any beneficial or negative effects... ;)

Have you played episode 2 and 3 yet?

What choices did you choose in episode 1?

edit:I remembered you want to wait until December for them all to released.I hope you manage to avoid spoilers until then.Be very careful with other threads, even in the non-spoilers section...

I haven't played the the other episodes, just the first one.And I loved it!

I really don't know if I should download the second yet.I do want to play them all together but December is too far...but again I am waiting for Back to the Future(I won't download it,I want to get the DVD version first)and 3 seasons of Sam and Max.Remember I also just got Jurassic Park.

Btw do you know with which kind of postal service will Back to the future come to me?I live in Greece.Maybe Fedex or something?

That's interesting, all my choices were differnt.
I have played and enjoyed Back to the future and Monkey island but I haven't played any of the others. The Walking dead is my favorite,I really like the characters and the choices you have to make.
Sorry but I don't know about which postal service will deliver your games.

Have fun with all your new games :)

I made some of the same decisions.

To tell you the truth I first saved Duck, but I didn't save the game,I just stopped it and the next time I played it again I saved Shawn...or...you know.I went for Shawn.

    Okaylet me tell you this

Episode 2 plays out like a very well made horror movie, and be prepared it shows straight up gore. Even though it's not that... err... gorey...

Also Episode 3 is very emotional and shocking. That's all I'll say.

I think it's real interesting that only 48% of players sided with Kenny in episode 1. I mean, we have a history with Kenny, Duck, and Katjaa, albeit a short one, and we only just met the people in the drugstore. There's no proof that he's bitten, except for what Larry is saying. Who would want to actually kill a kid?
  • edited October 2012
What's really interesting is speculating how many of the 52% who sided with Larry did so unwittingly by opting to "reason with him."

That's not the only thing which tips the scale, though it is one factor.

Suddenly I want the creator commentary. When's that coming out?
  • edited October 2012
Although I think Larry is annoying and...you know...I think that he's a 100% necessary character in the story, because if everyone gets along with everyone then it wouldn't be that interesting or realistic.

Just download and play the next two episodes. You're in for a wild ride.

And stay out of any threads with spoilers. Seriously.
  • edited October 2012
I'm trying.I already saw some major spoilers about Carley and I didn't like that...but as soon as I get some money I will probably download the next two episodes and wait for the DVD version to come out in December or so to play the rest of the episodes.

I loved episode 1 too it was a great episode of a videogame of Walking Dead. I have yet to play episode 2 and 3 like the topic creator also mentioned.

But episode 4 comes out on the 9th and 10th and there is a 2nd season coming out.

I was just playing Episode 2 and if you could just see my facial expressions...there were at least 3 times where I cought myself standing speechless with my mouth open thinking "What the heck?!!"

This is really one of the best games I have ever played...
  • edited October 2012
Yes it trutly is an amazing game and to me, the most emotional and best game I have ever played. Now you just need to play the rest of the game.
  • edited October 2012
Well, if you're just playing the first episode, you have 3 more to go, so if anything, congratulations on not having to wait the agonizing months to find out what happens next. Although ep5 is still a ways off.
