Should there be a mainstream song for the end credits?

edited October 2012 in The Walking Dead
I was just thinking with the end episode rapidly approaching should Telltale but a mainstream song at the end of episode 5 in the credits to convey the entire feeling and atmosphere that player have felt through out the game?

When I mean "mainstream song" I refer to a song which you might hear on the radio or tv, and is not something that the current musical artist on the video game would create. (no offense intended)

So for instance my choices would be;

I choose these songs because as instrumental versions, they have a range of emotions from; power, to sorrow, to desperation to more. But that is just my own opinion on the matter =/

So what do you guys think? Like the idea of having a mainstream song in the end credit of episode 5? or would it ruin the mood? Any suggestions?

I would agree to the idea of putting a different track for episode 5's credits, though i'm not sure if Jared would go for a song, that's not exactly his style, and most of the music in the game is violin or horror style.

I would be fine if they stuck with the current ending theme, but if they wanted to shake it up a little they could compose a new theme that would reflect whatever actually happens in the end. That way it gives a feeling of finality or whatever they want us to feel when it is done. I think a mainstream song may feel a bit out of place IMO or it would run counter to the atmosphere of the game.

I don't know. Honestly, I don't think that there are many mainstream songs that would quite capture the feel of the game, especially since so many songs usually focus on only one emotion at a time.
What could be cool would be if they had a song custom created for the game. Something that captured the feel perfectly. They could even have a different song for (what I'm assuming will be) 3 different endings: dark/bad, neutral, and light/good. (Should have read the other posts first, hehe. Kind of like what zgamer said!)
But I would rather their time, money, and efforts go into game play :D I'm already looking forward to Season 2 (assuming there will be one).

I want a different ending theme for the credits in episode 5. I know this is pretty small, but I would like any theme that fits in with the ending.

    No. There shouldn't.

I liked the idea that someone posted with a little emotional instrumental then a montage of everyone we've met , pre apocalypse doing their thing, living life like normal people.

My girlfriend has already pushed this song on me for the last cutscene into the closing credits. It's funny how well it translates to a zombie apocalypse, but is pretty tonally different than WD.

This is actually a pretty good choice...

Johnny Cash: Ain’t No Graves Can Hold My Body Down
    Eels: I Need Fresh Blood
    Kari Kimmel: Black
    AC/DC: Hells Bells

    To name a few.

Cash and Eels are good ones. Hell's Bells would just be silly. Speaking of which...

    I like this song!

I can see her vision, especially if it's just the first minute. I guess this is more True Blood than Walking Dead.

But Metric is super popular with DJs. There's tons of remixes (free, I might add), some with a better tone. Youtube it.

Here's one with a more WD tone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eayTl3cNQD0&feature=related

Metric has another song called "Moster Hospital" with a good remix by MSTRKRFT that is so WD, at least for the first minute: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c3Pk5wvac8

Listening this song while we see various devastation scenes... maybe in slow motion... would be great. Awesome!

For the finale, please, Telltale, make some more in the credits than showing text rolling on a black screen. ;)

I want to know who used the most healing and who died the most.

Why is the main tv show theme not in this? Would rather hear that than flies buzzing when I pause.

That song is actually really good :D the remix posted by Red Panda might be a better one depending on which mood the story goes.

It might be too late with time scheduling but I would love to see this song in the credits :D
