Choices really do matter in Episode 4?

I watched the new trailer for episode 4 and read the comments and the most talked about is Ben leaving Clem for dead ,
Now hear me out , we know TT have said our choices make a difference , and seeing how the majority of people (not me) dislike Ben , could him leaving Clem be because of the way you treated him ? i think it is , i mean if you have been nice to the kid maybe he wouldn't panic because you've accepted him , same with Kenny although he is confirmed for episodes 4 and 5 i think if you've sided with him the whole game will pay a big factor , just saying maybe people should wait until the play the game after they accuse Ben of something , remember TT also show;'s stuff in trailers that don't happen ,

From what I gleaned in the trailer, episode 4 will have the best example of choices mattering. If this is the example though, we'll have to wait and see.

I dont know and I dont care, when I play through episode 4 and Ben actually does leaves clemintine to the zombies, then the first chance I get Ben is out of the group. First he makes deals with bandits and endangered the entire group, second, he wouldnt tell the truth and got Carley/Doug killed, and now he leaves Clem to the zombies?!?! Sorry Ben, but right now, you're not on my good side.

so basically your saying you think Ben leaving Clementine can be avoided? i don't think so, i mean i haven't played it but i think that will happen regardless just because he is a stupid kid

There was actually a good deal explained about this at the PAX panel:

No i never said it was certain too happen i'm just saying the way you treat Ben could make a difference , look at it this way Ben is already scared and nervous normally if you give him shit all the time and hate on him it'll make him worse , i played through being the nicest too Ben and his calmer then how most people treat him ,

What if the choice to threaten Ben is the one that makes him save Clementine in episode 4?
Being nice,touchy-feely and forgiving isn't, and shouldn't be, the right choice every time.
What does Ben learn if Lee just tell him every thing's fine and he should forget about it. If Ben is indeed a coward, Lee warning him that there could be consequences to his future actions should make him save Clem because he knows what could happen to him if he doesn't.

I would of thought that the dangers and threats of a ZA requires a sense of urgency rather than spending time mollycoddling Ben in the hope he'll eventually come to feel a respected and a valuable member of the team.

Edit:Whatever happens in episode 4,Clem will live.
How forgiving would players be to Ben(and Telltale :p) if Clem died at that point? I wouldn't be surprised to see this: 95% of players chose to let Ben get eaten(and bombarded Telltale with hate mail)

You are right on toughen him up , but do you really think that threatening him on the train to toss him over is going too help ? lol , We don't even know why Ben ditches Clem if it happens trailers have things that aren't seen in the actually episode ,
I never said you had to treat him like a baby , i said if you be nice too the kid once in a while and not talk too him like you wanna kill him then it could be different, threatening him every second is just going to put more strain on the brain , hence why he would leave Clem by herself ,
HA i think what with Carly being shot (manly because guys wanted her and Lee to be together) and Clem dying they would lose a lot of fans , IMO Clem is my 3rd favorite , Kenny , Lee , Clem and Ben are my top 4 , i haven't grown a connection with Christa , Omid and Chuck , Chuck especially he looks suss and might be hiding something ,

lol what if he just cant save her. you can't just expect other people to throw their lives away to save someone, not even a kid.
He didn't have to do much to save her. He was going to run anyway. Clementine froze cause she was in shock. All he had to do was grab her hand and run in the direction he was going to run in anyway.

That's pretty impressive naivete from someone who can type his own posts.

Ben does what he does re Clem regardless of how you've treated him. Do you actually think TTG has some superduper subprogram running in the background that tweaks how characters behave?

No, you haven't gleaned this from the trailer. Just stop.

Oh, look who came back. No, you missed my thread where I talked about what was hinted in the trailer. Just stop, you wouldn't understand. No. No.
