SPOILERS: Did anyone have similar choices I made in episode 4?

In Episode 4, which I just played, The main choices I made were

1. I killed the boy zombie in the attic.

2. I decided to kill Ben when he was in the bell tower, because Clementine was already outside and Ben was a real A-hole for being in the bandit group and leaving Clementine (and yes I know he said he was shaken and he just ran away, but still.)

3. I decided not to show the bite because I was afraid they were going to kick me out of the group because of that.

4. I took Kenny with me to find Clem because I wanted Omid taken care of by Christa.

Anybody have the same (or almost the same) choices as me?

I killed the kid. (That was so sad by the way , he looked like Duck and starving to death scared in your attic must have been the worst way to die).

I saved Ben. I just didn't want to see more people dying.

I showed the bite to the group

I took the whole team with me. Everyone gladly agreed to come along to save Clem except Ben who you had to kind of convince. In the end he decided to come to make things right and cause he owed it to Clementine.

I smashed the kids head in with the Pin-Tool from Episode 3.

I did not bring Clem to Crawford. I told her to stay behind and if anything out of the ordinary occured. I told her to run and hide. It was a good decision. Crawford turned out to be insanely dangerous. Only a lunatic would bring a child on that hunt.

I saw the tape of Molly selling her fronts for medicine. I did not confront her about it. I know, but she doesn't know I know. Maybe she'll pop up in Ep5...

As much of an imbecile Ben is I pulled him up. If he dies it will have to be in a situation that is out of my control. I'm apathetic to his character. If he dies I won't cry, but I won't be murdering him.

I told Vernon he can't take Clem.

The choices at the end were bizarre. I showed the group the bite, and I took Kenny, Christa and Omid. I told Ben to watch the boat. I was trying to have just me and Kenny go, but whatever option I chose made Christa and Omid tag along as well.

My final choice on the walkie was " What do you want from me " or something similar.

Also it seems in my game. Lee is the whipping boy. I absolutely got whupped by Kenny in the train since I couldn't find the dot, and I couldn't press the button quick enough to stop Molly from flooring me. Well, atleast I'm a semi-competent Zombie killer.

    - Killed the boy with the Gun

    - Didn't kill Ben, as much as he was an asshole in EP4, He wanted to give his life to save the group in the end, and I figured if something were to happen to Lee, Ben would try and step up and be like Lee.

    - I showed my Bite, what purpose would there be if I consealed it, I would've turned and killed everyone on the boat.

    - I told Christa and Omid to come with me, Kenny said I didn't have his back, but I always did, but he came with me in the end, Ben came with me too I want him to prove his worth, I'm sure he can do it.

It's a game, but the story is good, you take the story seriously and adapt with the emotions within the story, and you'll find yourself doing things you really would do.
"going out to the serious gamers that actually adapt to the story"

-I offered it to Kenny first, but he was too broken up. Finished the boy with the gun.

-Ben's been screwing up, but for the most part he's been trying to help. The deal with the bandits was to protect us, and it's not like he called in the zombies to kill us all. Killing him wouldn't have solved anything. A willing and able body can be useful, in a few ways.

-No reason to hide the bite, they would have found out anyway. Showing it helps them realize what the situation is.

-I managed to gather everyone with me. I had to remind Kenny that Clem was my family, and to deal with Ben coming along. Ben needed a bit of a push as well, I'm hoping he can find some way to help.

Man, this was a nerve-wracking episode for me. Just solid development, I think.

Oh, man. When I told Kenny that Clem was my family, he got so pissed at me. He said something to the effect of "How dare you talk to ME about family?"

If you are good enough to Duck and his wife, he will be ok with you.

What constitutes that? I went for Shawn in EP1. Didn't help kill Larry. Sided down the middle between Kenny and Lily.

Did the simple things register? Like feeding Duck? Giving him a High-Five? Giving him water when he was dieing? Shooting him in the head? What choices could I have made that allowed Kenny to tag along with me when I said Clem was family?

Also, bringing all of these people to find Clem may make a bad scenario worse. We are pretty sure Christa is pregnant. I know, but she doesn't know I know. That is why I was trying to get atleast Christa to stay with Ben to watch the boat.

I have no idea how this will play out. Lee is already dead so I can do virtually anything immoral to get Clem back. EP.5 is no mercy. Lee is dead so I'm bringing down the carnage on those who oppose me. BUT; with Kenny, Christa, Omid they could be "plot wood" for the "fire" and start dieing one by one. Which would be horrible. I'm seriously regretting bringing Christa, but what is done is done.

On the other hand. The herd from the train depot seems to be in Savannah. So I wonder how Ben is tackling that back at the house. I doubt he would be spotted. He is pretty well fortified.

I dont know If thats the right decision. But I hate that they didnt put a teaser trailer for Episode 5.I know that Its totally full of spoilers but cmon TTG I CANNOT WAIT.

    1. I let Kenny kill the boy. Still not sure if it was for the better or worse.

    2. I let Ben fall. He managed to fuck up the first group (which for me meant Carley dead and Lilly left in the woods) and then the idiot lets zombies into the school (ending up with Brie and Molly dead, since I failed at saving her). He's just too damn clumsy, stupid and selfish to be someone to rely on. I probably would have still pulled him up if he hadn't told me to let go.

    3. I showed the bite because God knows I'd be pissed as fuck if someone in the group got bitten and didn't tell me. A typical Ben thing to do. Plus, I trusted that the group wouldn't turn their backs on me.

    4. At first I told them I wanted to go alone, but then Christa and Omid was like "NO WAY!", and opted to follow, which I reluctantly agreed on. I let Kenny tag along as well, seeing as he is probably more capable than the other two anyway.

    Killed the boy

    let clem in the house

    shot molly by accident

    let ben die

showed the bite and omid, christa came with me. Kenny didn't, even with me insisting, because I was against him in episode 1 and 2. After that episodes I aways tried to gain his trust and he kept mad.

    l kill the boy.

Took Clem with Me to Crawford.

Save Ben(give thanks to Carley ,your Luck boy)!

    Clem save Molly for me!

Showed the bite,Omid, Christa and Kenny came with me, I let Ben choose if he wanted to come with me but he said I did not trust him. (He finally said something intelligent).

Killed the boy. I couldn't tell Kenny to do it.
Brought Clem to Crawford. I couldn't just leave her with an almost dying Omid.
Saved Ben. Like Kenny once said, I'm not letting anyone else get eaten today.
Didn't help Molly. The game was laggy as hell and I was afraid of shooting her.
Confronted Molly about the tape, but then sympathized with her.
Told Vernon I needed to think about it.
Showed everyone the bite. They deserved to know.
Got Christa, Omid and Kenny to help me. Tried to get Ben but time to respond was way too short.

    .

I am not really sure though.
My lee wasn't that super friend of Kenny. I am neutral regarding the Lilly-Kenny situation but I helped him kill Larry.

As for the simple things, Yeah I AlWAYS gave something to Duck and also the one who killed Duck (I killed that kid on the attic too)

But I also saved Ben against Kenny will and he obviously didn't like it.

At first he didn't want to go with me. He said something like "you are not that good to me" (Not his exact word) but when I said "Clem is my family" he seemed to understand and joined me in the end.

I killed the kid in the attic - crushed his head with my foot. Seemed like the quietest option. Originally I handed the gun to Kenny, but he was too shaken up to do it.

I didn't take Clementine to Crawford - and I'm glad I didn't! Although I'd be interested to see how it plays out differently.

I saved Ben. I've lost too many people already.

I saved Molly. What happens if you don't make the shot? I've heard Clem saves her, but if you leave Clem at the manor?

Confronted Molly about the tape and sympathised with her.

Told Vernon I needed time to think about it.

Hid my bite. I'm slightly regretting this one, and I did it in a panic. To make up for it, I told the group that I wanted to go after Clem alone, incase I was to turn and kill one of them.

    Damn, this game is hard..

    I killed the boy aswell

Did not take Clem to Crawford, it just freaked me out too much to bring her.

    I saved Ben, and Molly.

Confronted Molly and sympathised with her

I lied to Vernon about me being Clem's dad and I told him to walk away.

    I showed them my bite

Everybody came with me except Kenny, which I don't really understand cause I always sided with him. Aw well, someone has to watch the boat for when I get my girl back.
  • edited October 2012
I feel like I was the only one who didn't kill the boy in the attic. Kenny was really beating himself up over not being able to do it because I killed Duck for him, and I felt that this was really important for Kenny to get over. If he encounters something like this again and chokes up, it could be really bad.

I didn't even know about Molly's tape. It was pretty obvious early on tha she was involved with the group and I kept wanting to find out more, but I couldn't focus on much else besides keeping the plot going as I was pulling an all-nighter playing this game. Can anyone tell me how to get my hands on that?

I took Clem with me because I took Chuck's (RIP) advice to heart. If I keep treating her like a little girl, she is going to end up dead. I felt responsible for making sure she was able to take care of herself should something happen to me (which, as we find out, will).

I totally felt like Ben was going to squirm out of Lee's hand intentionally and die without a prompted choice, because of the cinematographic clues in the scene, and I felt myself, especially after seeing Clem defend him, really hoping he wouldn't die. I couldn't stay mad about him for killing Carley because that was more Lilly's fault (and a bit of Carley's as well) and I identified with Ben making mistakes under pressure after all. And it was really harsh seeing him take a beating from Kenny and himself this episode. I think if I killed him I would have really felt horrible. Back at the voting scene, when I chose to let him stay after Clementine's vote, Lee made a very good point that kicking Ben out because he was a liability would make them no better than Crawford.

Initially, I hid my bite and chose to save Clem alone because I didn't want to be a burden and a danger to everyone else, and the last scene was particularly haunting. I thought Lee was gonna up and join the horde as a zombie. I replayed the ending though and this time chose to reveal my bite and asked everyone to come along. I felt this better suited the game (at least my playthrough) better in that Lee has the backing and trust of everyone in the group now and has become the group leader.

I have to say, I loved this episode because I hated how many people bitched at how Telltale creates an "illusion of choice" purely because of episode 3, when episode 3 was specifically about events being out of your control. I think episode 4 responded to the criticism by being the most complex and branching episodes to date.

When lee tells vernon and christa to go on without him, go outside the nurse's station, and look at/open the locker just around the corner. The one with the bloody handprint (and the name Logan) on.

I killed the boy, not out of any sympathy for him (I didn't know anything about him besides the fact that he had a dog which he liked), but because I was worried that if I left him, Clem might wander up into the attic and get bitten by him. Plus, the noise might be annoying.

I was honest with Vernon because a) Characters in this game seem to know when they are being lied to and b) The other people in my party might have told him the truth, which would put me in a difficult situation

I brought Clem to Crawford because a) I didn't trust her to stay put, when I know she's been in contact with the radio guy and b) I couldn't take the chance that radio guy would snatch her while I was gone and c) She's proven her usefulness

I let Ben die by refusing to shoot the zombie who had grabbed him. He hasn't really done anything to endear me to him. He gave supplies to the bandits, and when he told me on the train I really wanted the option to kill him. Carley DIED because he didn't have the guts to reveal the truth. An innocent person was murdered not by him, but because of his actions. Everything he's done since then has endangered the group. He didn't raise a finger to help Clem, he didn't watch her when I asked him to and he took the axe out of the door at the school. First chance I got, I let him die, with relish.

I revealed the bite because I knew, the way Lee was standing, the others would check his arm anyway. Better to be honest - as I said before, people tend to know when you lie in this game. And there's no point concealing the bite anyway. I know what the consequences are. If they wanted to kill me then and there, fine, I'm sure I'd get to play episode 5 through someone else's eyes.

Right so I only wrote about four decisions (the ones OP mentioned), here's the rest (I think).

Left Clem with Omid. If I knew Crawford was gonna be like any walkerinfested place, I might've brought her, but when I made the decision I thought it would be full of die hard darwinists that might kill Clem, so I thought it safer to leave her at the house. I left her a gun too. I proved to be right
as only one zombie managed to enter the property, and Clem blew its brains out.

I confronted Molly about the tape, partly because she should have told me, but mostly because I thought that sitting on the information when she one day perhaps opens up about it would be a shitty thing to do. I then sympathized with her.

I tried to help Molly by shooting the zombie, but I accidentally shot her in the arm instead. Oops, I guess. I read that Clem might save Molly if you brought her along, but I didn't, so yeah.
Molly is not seen being bitten on camera however (only closed in on by zombies while she tries to get away), so her death isn't certain.

As for Vernon offering to take Clem with him to the shelter... I told him to fuck off. No way I'm leaving her behind in a bloody bunker in that godforsaken town.

    Let me try and remember...

I gave Kenny the gun and had him shoot the kid.

I cheated and reloaded my file until I won the fight with Molly.

    I told Vernon the truth.

I watched the third tape and confronted Molly about it, but sympathized with her.

I saved Ben. The whole scene I was going "Oh please let me save this kid I don't want him to die".

    I showed the bite.

Initially I wanted to go alone, but Christa and Omid convinced me, and everyone tagged along without too much trouble.

    1. I killed the boy zombie.

    2. It wasn't much of a decision for me to kill Ben; I didn't even want to shoot the zombie off of him when it grabbed him, but I figured I'd probably get killed somehow if I didn't. Seriously, he was an idiot (I found this hatchet wedged in between two door handles and brought it with me, DERP) who only thought about himself, and left Clementine to get eaten, especially. Screw that coward.

    3. I showed the bite. I figured I'd be kicked out of the group for sure, but I wouldn't want anyone else hiding something like that from me.

    4. I tried to get Christa and Omid to stay behind, because I figured it was my responsibility to find Clementine. Ha, they wouldn't take no for an answer. Kenny came along after I talked about how Clem was my family. I kinda wondered if he would, but I guess I sweetened him up enough.

I brought Clem along, because I figured it'd be easier to protect her, even though neither choice was a good one. She does shoot the zombie. Basically you are not even given much of a chance to try to shoot it off of Molly (she's screaming "Shoot it," while doing her best to get right in the way of your shot) before Clementine does her best Man With No Name impression, and POW.

I told Vernon to fuck off as well. How would she be safer with him in that bunker, and how FUCKING dare he even ask such a thing?!?!

I picked up Ben because I can't kill my own group members, if they're going to die it's going to be out of my hands.

She tricks a Zombie and locks it into a closet. So when we return, the downstairs looks empty, but there is a rustling in the closet. I chose the option saying "If that is you Clem come out" or something to that extent.

Lee then opens the door, a zombie pops out Kenny shoots it square in the face. She then runs downstairs from her hiding spot...:)

What I don't understand is how did it get inside in the first place?

Another question. Has anyone tried using the gun on the safe with medicine? Instead of getting the combination?

    1. I shot the zombie kid. Kenny had enough.

    2. I pulled Ben up. We don't leave our men behind.

    3. I showed the bite, cause i hate, when someone hides such vital information, like – «Relax, guys, i'm ok, just eat something funny.. i'm ok... i'm ok... gvam-gvam-gvam-gvam-gvam! » I want them to save a bullet for Lee :-), also it means more empty space on a boat. It's like in remake of Dawn of the Dead.

    4. Omid and Krista acompany me.

    5. I told Clem to stay at the house. (and left her with a revolver in case Omid turns)

    6. I told Molly 'bout recording, but didn't pushed her. Also i've succesfuly shot the walker, who atacked her.

    7. I told vernon to fuck off in a mild way.

    8. I've told truth all the time.

There are so many other questions.

    (1) Can you deliberately shoot Ben in the face when the Zombie grabs him on the Bell?

    (2) What happens in the sewers if you use the gun and alert the zombies, will they crawl through the hole Lee enters to where he finds Vernon and the rest of the Cancer Survivors?

    1. I killed the kid.
    2. I would have kill Ben but Clem forgave him, so I saved him.

    1. I killed the kid, then buried him gewd

    2. I talked to Molly, would have told her that she's not good enough for the sex tape business, but I sympathized.

    3. I left Clem behind and gave her a gun.

    4. I told that doctor guy that I was Clem's father

    5. I didn't vote Ben off (I actually didn't have time to choose so it defaulted to ...), but I killed him when he said to let go.

    6. I showed the bite, they were all impressed.

    7. I took everyone (even Zombie Ben), Kenny was like "Friends yo"

    8. I didn't shoot Molly when we first met and I also saved her by shooting the ceiling (cause guns are magic).

I did. I was clearing a jam from Carley's glock (that's my story and I'm sticking to it) and did not kill the walker in time. Unfortunately, ...I mean good thing Christa shot the walker that almost ate Kenny. Thanks Christa...

    1. I did not kill the boy in the attic. I figured Kenny needed to do it. It was good for him to help the boy after he was unable to do it for his son.

    2. I brought Clem along for the trip to the school. I didn't trust Omid to protect her from whoever was stalking the group and I didn't want to risk leaving her there with Omid who looked like he was close to death.

    3. I saved Ben. He's an idiot, but I had the chance to save him so I did. I also voted for him to stay in the group earlier in the episode because even though he is an idiot he means well and I think he's due to redeem himself at some point.

    4. I revealed the bite to the group. I've been as honest as I could be through the first four episodes. No need to start lying at the end.

    5. Kenny, Christa, Omid, and Ben are all coming along to find Clem. I figure the more people the better chance of Clem being saved. I was thinking about going it alone, but I don't want to risk Lee finding Clem then turning with no one other than her to stop him. Although I won't be surprised if everyone we choose to bring with us ends up dead and it ends up with Clem having to put down Lee.

Killed the boy... he needed a proper burial.

I took Clem with me because she was busy getting into all sorts of shit and leaving her alone was worse than bringing her with us on a desperate mission that was probably going to fail. I'd rather her be with me if we all died then her starve like that boy did alone and scared.

Saved Ben... the boy needs a chance to redeem himself. Kenny's barely living and after the boat... well he'll find he's got nothing to live for... Ben is young... he made mistakes but isn't it hypocritical for Lee to judge him? My Lee knows there is a time for redemption.

Saved Molly two times. Shes the best character in the game hands down! (Well really Clem saved Molly and I chose not to kill her first)

    Told Vernon to fuck off.

Hid the bite and went on my own. I have no intention of bringing Clem to the boat and am going to give her to Vernon before I die. The group doesn't need to know what happens... I'm dead and Clem is going to be cared for by a good group of people. UNLESS I CUT MY ARM OFF.

Had Kenny kill the boy - since he couldn't bring himself to kill his own son, I figured it would be something akin to closure for him, as well as letting him do some good. I felt it was something that he needed to do to start putting his horrors behind him.

Several times through the episode I wanted to deck Ben, but in the end I just couldn't stand to see one more person that I was supposed to be protecting die.

I also didn't show them the bite because I knew I'd need their help to find Clementine, and I assumed I'd be on my own if they thought I could turn and kill them at any moment. I mean, if you've seen the show or read the comics, you should really have expected that response from them. I think it turns out that they actually ALL go with you if you show them the damn bite, for all the sense that makes.

In the end, Christa refused to leave Omid, who couldn't come with us, so it ended up being me, Kenny, and Ben (looking for redemption - I hope he can prove himself in the next episode) going to find Clementine.
