Your opinion on why Molly changed her mind

edited October 2012 in The Walking Dead
When she and Lee get back from the repair shop, she says she has something to do.

She decides to keep the battery just in case they mind leave without her. So, at the point she clearly intended to go with them…or hold them back for a while.

However, if in your game she survives, at the end, she leaves the house without notifying anybody, not even Lee who barely managed to catch her at the stairs.

Is she hiding something you think?

Could be after the whole Ben/Kenny debacle in the classroom, she decided that she was right all along and it's safer to be on her own than in a group.

I immediately thought when she came back that she had actually swaped it for a dead battery, so thats a possibilty
Second, if not that, i would assume she changed her mind after getting to know Kenny and Ben

Yeah I'm pretty sure it was the Kenny/Ben thing.
She even made a comment about it IIRC.
Seems like the type that didn't want to be dragged down by others.
And Ben was def. that kind of buzzkill.

I agree, I think after witnessing the groups dysfunction (namely Kenny and Ben) she decided she would go back out on her own rather than get caught up in the groups BS.

If Ben cost me Molly joining up that be another thing that makes me not like him very much.

Yeah I was really hoping Molly would have come along. She was a great character, and was a hell of alot more useful than Ben. Actually she's pretty much protagonist material. Prolly the most interesting secondary character int he game.

I thought it might have been to do with my choice to save Ben, in the sense that she knew the boat was going to be overcrowded. I'm guessing she leaves regardless of your choice though so it must just be realising how fragile friendships are in a group.

Honestly, Kenny wanting to exclude Ben from the group and the boatride.
And also the impromptu voting Ben out of the group.

Those things probably reminded her of the Crawford scenario.
The whole let's oust you out cause you're a detriment to the group sorta mentality.

Our group was messed up even before reaching the train. After going through all that stuff, it just got worse. She saw what the group had become and decided that she didn't want to be any part of a group as dysfunctional as ours, and she probably made the right choice.

It wouldn't surprise me if she was planning to come back and steal it or something.

I just don't trust her, she tends to lie and some things she says just don't add up - "Oh, I've been over every inch of this city, there's nothing left", then a.) why the hell are you still looking for supplies, b.) why wouldn't you try to leave?

There's also the fact that she was apparently in the same area as Walkie-talkie dude at the start of the Episode; we can see her silhouette at the bell tower in the start of the episode, and the walkie-talkie guy was obviously in the same area since he was able to see us. Clem also happens to go missing right after Molly decides to stay behind, so...

So at the moment no chance of get Molly to the group right?.......I hope she can back for us again...I mean like a lovely with Lee...she is good,i think she can take Lee now Carley is dead

Molly's actually the closest to most real life people, or at least like me.

If I went with this group for a bit and saw how much they were fucking around and causing problems amongst themselves, I would get the HELL out of there. Being alone is better than being with these people, anytime.

Hmm i see but 2 head is better than one..if you get in a bad situation the other can save you...I really hope she can back to Lee

definately after she saw how the group started voting people off, fighting amongst eachother...and well in my case Lee dropped Ben to his death.

After what shes been through with crawford, this would definately turn her away.

Hadn't considered that but I like that idea.

I actually wondered if her sister wasn't still alive somewhere and that she lied about it. The picture she had in her hand when she was just holding it before she showed it to Lee, looked an awful lot like the packages of medicine Logan gave her. But that coulda just been my imagination.

I like her well enough but I don't quite trust everything she's said.

I think she thought she would survive better alone than with a group that lives in conflicts ...
    I agree with her ...

Hmmm yeah......thinking about she do not really say what her did at the moment she take the battery and her was 100% of going on the boat...So something happened to her going way...But i really hope she come back at the epi 5

She's being realistic. She saw a non functioning group, unable to protect themselves in Savanna, she saw Ben confessing his "crime", she saw Kenny tilting over it... would you want to stay with these people if you were quite able to survive on your own? I wouldn't...

I let Ben fall to his gruesome death, so I thought she felt uneasy around me.

She won't come back in my episode 5, as she is dead.

There is still enough to manage for devs with all the possibilities now, that Molly will probably not stack up :-)

I don't think Molly would want zombie Lee so... lol. There isn't even a time for romance with the things happening.

Ep5 ends with Lee and Molly having hot sex... but then Lee turns into a walker during sex and kills her. The End.

That's just it, though; by her own dialogue she shouldn't be able to survive on her own in Savannah as she claims it was already picked clean, etc.

Some of the things she says just don't add up, as I said. e.g. searching a city for supplies when she claims she's already been over every inch of it and that there's nothing left. She strikes me as bad news. I mean, hell, at the stand she could've just as easily escaped - instead she chose to try and ambush Lee from behind. And of course, the morning after Molly's change of heart about coming with us is when Clem happens to go missing.

On another note, the characters seemed pretty quick to dismiss her as bad news - "oh, okay, she was the bell ringer (which lead to Chuck's death), but she's obviously not the Walkie Talkie Guy...". I kinda get the feeling the writers had her channel the Carly vibe solely so we wouldn't suspect her.

She never said she'd stay in Savanna. She says she's always been better off on her own...

Her dialogue differs by the choices you made, but none state that she's planning to stay, at least none that I had.

I nthe video we saw she had sex with that guy for take medicine for her sister....But anyway her explanation was not clear...maybe she is hiding something for sure.I still belive she will come back.....and i think maybe Lee wasn't bite...there no much blood...anyway i think he probably can survive

That is why I was one of the very, very, very low percentage people that told Clem in the train in Episode 3 "its best we go on our own", or something to that extent.

The group was simply broken and being held together by silly string and some gum. Molly could see that as well. Why would any sane person stay?
  • edited October 2012
She could have swap the battery makes since like one person pointed out.

What would she do that for?

Wait until they start looking for another battery then steal the boat?
