I would like him to be usefull, but honestly he should just screw up again. He has not used any of the previous changes he got in the game so it shouldn't be different this time. Without any time for him to improve seems almost unrealistic for him to not screw up.

I saved him purely because Clementine asked, accepting the extra hurt along with it. Also when Kenny nodded to drop him, I knew that I should save him. Kenny's opinion has served me well as my anti-moral compass throughout this game.

I am holding out the belief that Ben will sacrifice himself to redeem himself in the group.

If you let Ben die it will stop the player from having the "best" outcome.

He was suicidal because he thought he was a hassle on the group, now that you've saved him, he may be alittle bit more independent, lets face it, he tries his damnest to help out, but just doesn't know How to help out... and screws up more than he helps out, but his heart is in the right place, (As said by tons of others) so hes worth saving, personally I want Ben to live to the end.

And Luigi I don't think Ben should have to redeem himself personally because nothing he did was for the sake of doing bad or getting someone killed, every single time it was accidents.

    I couldn’t let him die.

First because he’s young and incompetent, but kind hearted and willing to help people. He probably went crazy back at the gym when all of his friends got slaughtered. He also saw his not so smart friend Travis being killed as well as his teacher.

He caused the death of people but always involuntarily.

If I could have chosen, I would have left him with supplies and a white weapon to go his own way, when we get (if we ever do) on the boat.

But dropping a kid like that is not right. He didn’t deserve to fall from great height only to be severely injured and eaten alive.

In my game, I left him behind to watch the boat when all the others came with me. I thought it was a good way to put him to the test.

and If you return to a missing Ben and boat??

I kinda doubt Ben would just up and get out of there with the boat >_>

He explicitly stated in Episode 3 that he's glad he's with the group, and nothing he's done so far suggests that he would do anything with malicious intent.

So Ben will now be a lot more useful in your Ep.5, congrats!

    that's what I thought.

He may just get emotional and vengeful and decide to ride off into the sun set.

I will say, that I for one dropped Ben so he isnt a factor at all in my game.. But we are leaving the boat un-attended so there's a good chance it'll be gone when the group returns.. However, with Lee bitten now, and the boat was MY main focus all this time, it really no longer matters.. Find/Save Clem. say goodbye to Lee.. Wait for Season 2.

I'm still hoping Ben will prove himself. I love throughout the entire episode that Crawford is supposed to be this horrific place where if you weak you die. It supposed to disgust you that people could do such a thing but then the game hands you the same situation with Ben. So far he's useless, in fact he's a danger to the group but do you do as Crawford and ditch him because he makes the group weak, or stick with him because he is a person and not a tool.

Very well done. I'm still clinging onto the last shred of humanity in this god forsaken world. However, its becoming harder and harder to do as the episodes go on :( Sooo good :)

I don’t think Ben will steal the boat. If the boat vanishes it will be because of someone else and I think about Molly to be honest. Ben won’t be a problem for her to overpower.

Besides, he knows he’s alone and he’s probably hiding up the attic or somewhere in the house.

Also, he needs a car to pull the boat and I don’t think there’s one working around (as I remember).

Last, Kenny probably kept the keys to the boat with him. I initially wanted to bring everyone but Kenny told me that he wouldn’t come if Ben came as well. So, I chose Kenny because in Episode I he saved my life right after Larry punched me in the face (even though I risked my life retrieving the keys to get his meds).

Can't leave the boat unattended, left Ben with it (at the very least, he'll be able to say who took it). Kenny will have time to cool down while he's helping me, Omid and Christa are tied to the hip and more manpower in this search is good and Lee didn't lie about the bite, hoping Ben will be able to take his spot on the boat.

Crap, I hadn't considered leaving the boat alone. Then again, I also thought there would actually be one at the waterfront... If that thing's gone when everyone (minus Lee) gets back, I might feel like a real piece of crap.

Yeah, having Ben come along is SURE to help. Red Panda you are awesome buddy!

    There. And thank you Gary.

Will Ben be useless for Episode 5?

Just ask yourself, how useful has he been in the previous episodes? And then you'll have your answer. Unless he pulls something really heroic.

I'm hoping Ben will help or at least sacrifice himself when all hope is lost. Hopefully he can act as a human shield or do some good.

I don't think so. We'll get a few minutes more of dialogue with him before he dies a heroic death.

But that's what he was trying to do at the end of Episode 4.

When someone flips a coin five times in a row and each time it lands it's heads-up, everyone assumes that it's overdo to land on tails. Right? It must land on tails eventually? But that's not how statistics work - it's always going to be 50/50.

I bring this up, because Telltale has been doing a really good job of messing with our expectations. We all think he's vastly overdo to help out and save the day, because logically he must eventually, right? Buuuut... I'm not so sure that that's how it works.

Yeah, but one might say, that if you think like that, you are like the Crawford people. They only try to save who they consider useful.

He's not a bad person, he is just a little thick.

Not really. Keeping Ben had no repercussions and I didn't think dropping him made much more sense than maybe Lee can't pull him up. I was also sure Ben made his decision largely because he felt like a liability and not because it made sense for the group.

Also I need him much more now for Clems sake.

Thick would imply he is too stubborn to listen or such, Kenny is thick, Ben is not thick, most of Ben's mistakes were caused by panick, fright, and lack of knowing what to do, He tries to help, he just doesn't Know HOW he could help!

The only time Ben was 'Thick' persay, was in the street with Clem, I think, but he was panicking there so its excused to me.

Can't do something stupid when you're dead. On a side note, I just love it when people think that Ben is going to redeem himself. The guy has shown to be a coward and a detriment time and again. I don't think that is going to change.
