I strongly believe Season 2 will have entirely new characters.

edited October 2012 in The Walking Dead
Before Episode 4, I had an idea that Season 2 would feature all new characters...
But now with Lee's situation, I am positive of this.
I think Episode 5 will have a sort of final ending for the remaining characters, or at least one that we can accept (similar to Lily's ending).

What are you guys thinking?
I wouldn't mind new characters very much, as long as this season gets a proper ending... and I would really like Season 2 to have some sort of tie in to this season (and the comics!).

I'd like a new group to be set somewhere else other than Georgia. Seriously, half the comics, the entire game, and both books have been set there.

    I don't expect a season 2 honestly.

I think TTG will move on something else.

Nah. More people would want a conclusion to Lee/Clem than a new group. Less people would buy (like myself).

I'd actually like a new group of characters for the next season. In my opinion i think a story with the remaining characters would seem forced at this point and would benefit from a different story arc.

There aren't too many female protagonists in games so it would be nice to have a female lead. Preferably the woman is just a normal person that eventually adapts to the ZA. There are too many games that are action-oriented with invinicible, Chuck-norris like main characters.

i really hope so, but more than that creating my own character is what i would implement on the second season.

    Wrong.

Also, Ep5 will end Lee's story and will rape our minds so Season 2 can start out with completely new characters.

It has already been announced that there will be a season 2.

Unless Lee is miraculously cured somehow, I think we'll see an entirely new group of people. Looking at who's left heading into EP5 the only one I could see as a lead character would be an older version of Clem, but I really doubt they go that way.

Lee being cured at all would kill the game. Also, Clem will probably become a walker and we'll have to shoot her by the end of Ep5 :]

    I'm being optimistic.

Yes because ttg will just stop making the best selling game they ever have done lol. Thats like activison stopping call of duty games and moving on to new fps.

Honestly i hope there is a season 2. The tv show could learn a thing or two from games there better written in some ways and more emotional.

Well, I guess Lee ist dead. So he is out.

But I don't see entirely new characters.

At least Clem will remain. She is the ring in "Lord of the Rings" - she is that one precious thing, that last glimmer of hope. As long as she is around, not all is lost.

Unless everyone dies or can die in Ep. 5, I'm expecting next season to focus on Kenny and Clem, since TTG did say that Season 1 saves would be used for Season 2, IIRC.

The second season has already been confirmed by Telltale. What we don't know, is who the characters will be.

Lee's cool but i would like to create a character if ideas for the team could float around. That would be harder to program though I guess..

TTG has confirmed Season 2 before Episode 3.Well not officially but they mentioned It somewhere.

    They confirmed it.

I'm kinda curious about what they're going to do for season 2. They've covered basically everything that happens in the comic in the game ( zombie threat , cannabilism , human threat , finding a safe haven etc.). I hope season 2 isn't the same journey with different characters.

Maybe do something like the prison story. A group of survivors are holdup in what they think is a safe location. Fortified town or something have them dealing with threats from outside and within.

I had the same strong feeling that Lee was going to die and Clem will carry on into season 2. I also think that how we raised her during these five episodes will have a huge impact for how she will interact with people. (There's a foreshadowing of this at the barn in Episode 2 involving "doody" :))
I really hated saying that I knew it when Lee got bitten though :(

What's funny is aside from Kenny no one else..well okay the Farm boys did have a accent, the eldest one and his mother...but other than those three no one else in the game has a southern accent.

I wanna see a zombie game in a big city. Right in the middle of South side Chicago or Brooklyn NY. HAHAH Can you picture it. Beautiful...

Agreed. Something like the Pacific Northwest, or just outside of Chicago, or maybe Alaska or Hawaii would be interesting. Another country could be a nice change of pace too. Maybe an island off Italy? Such as Capri?

    ...

Wasn't the entire goal of the Fellowship to destroy the ring, because it was the only way to defeat the final villain? Yeah, I'm pretty sure she's the exact opposite of the ring.

The very fact that there will be a season two tells me the cast will be mostly the same. If it were a new cast and setting, I'd hardly qualify that as a "new season", just a differently story line set in the same universe.

TT has said season 2 can' take place anywhere beyond the current comic timeline, so no time-skip can occur. That means Clem isn't a candidate as the next protagonist.

The only possiblility i can think of is Lee if he somehow survives or Molly. One of the two.
  • edited October 2012
We'll be playing as Clem's Mother. They will be magically reuinted. Which I think will make me cry, because I really really like Lee, but there's nothing that can be done for him. So either Clem puts Lee down, someone else in the group does, or Lee wanders around Savannah as the undead...:(
  • edited October 2012
only way Lee could survive is chop off his arm and then he has to deal with surving the fever and shock of it...but in the zombie world thats his only option besides a cure.

God I hope they bring new characters. I have a sinking feeling though that they are going to shift Christa and her unborn as the protagonist since they seem to be determined to force players into the mother/caretaker role for the ZA. I will more than likely just watch it on youtube though. Not interested enough to spend money.

Exactly my logic. Going by traditional television definitions another season would allude to a continuation of the initial story and characters from the previous.

If that weren't the case they would have named it Series 2 or given it a nice subtitle.

Personally, I want to control Kenny. Perhaps after all this he can stop being such a douche and turn over a new leaf. Tabula rasa style. And perhaps can be a malleable protagonist like Lee.
