The Walking Dead Episode 3: Can you leave the motor inn early?

edited October 2012 in The Walking Dead
Yes, I am curious if there is a possibly solution to leaving the motor inn earlier than the time line in which the bandits show up. Because of the previews for episode 3 in episode 2's conclusion, in which it is day instead of night, I am curious of this. Also, if Duck does indeed die, then why is he alive and well in the cover for episode 3 riding the train? Are these scenarios even possible?

Maybe they changed the story in process, or just used non-canon image previews (still remember when at episode 1 people were like "oooh fuck duck is on the preview so he won't die")
