I like a woman that can hold her own. She was deadly with a pistol but still naive enough to not know which is positive or negative when it came to batteries lol
She was playfull with Lee would have been good to see that relationship grow
Have you noticed that she tries to fuck everyone who saves her life? Doug saved her life and she thought he would be kinda cute. Then Lee saves her and now she wanna fuck him? She was a crazy bitch, glad she got killed...

She was tough and could handle herself, and saved Le's life twice in Episode 1. Plus, she trusted Lee even though she knew he was a murderer. That trust went a long way for me.

Dude, what? I didn't realize that finding people attractive or commenting on good traits meant that you're actively trying to "fuck everyone that saves her life". I just... what?
As for the OP; She was really good with a gun and had some cool interactions with Lee. The way she reacted to Lee's past and how she later convinced him to talk to the others about it was pretty cool as well. Her saving Lee's life twice in one day didn't hurt either.
I can't explain exactly how, but I've really enjoyed almost all of the characters so far in this game. Chuck, Christa, Omid, and especially Molly (who is like a mix of Glenn and Michonne, imo) are some of the newer characters I've liked.
What made her likable:
1. Carly-Doug is the first character you had to choose to sacrifice someone else to save. This is a psychological effect where a person's arbitrary decision creates an emotional investment in the valuation.
2. She rushed out into the street to save strangers.
3. She knew Lee's secret and wasn't going to rat him out.
4. She could shoot a gun.
5. After saving her, she doesn't wish you saved the other one. (Really Doug? Really?)
6. She shoots off Andy's ear.
7. In the start of Episode 3 there was a flirty thing going on between her and Lee.
What made her unlikable:
1. She rushed out into the street to save Ducky.
2. She taunted then turned her back on a clearly dangerous woman who was on a witch-hunt. (Turns out the test for a witch is to try to shoot them in the head, witch heads are bulletproof.)
3. She wasn't wearing a helmet (because life is rough and sometimes comes as a hollow point).
She was hot and female and most players are young male and fall in love with her literally. Thats pretty much it I guess.
Lol this.
Nah but more importantly, she was genuinely a good character and had a personality. She could look after herself as she was handy with a gun and got on well with Lee.
Still think it was a shame that we never got to see how that relationship may have played out.
It sounds kind of cheesy but to me, she was the only character that seemed actually 'safe' and 'stable' so far and she seemed like a nice person, plus I liked the thing between her and Lee at the start of episode 3, I wasn't expecting it. Damn... writing that actually makes me miss her.

LOL I agree with the notion on why more players saved her rather than Doug. I am a Doug person since Carley had a gun and can fight. I would have assumed that she would pistol whip the walkers.

Let me add to your unlikeable list:
She doesn't know how to work a radio, yet alone knows that radios take batteries.
She doesn't know how to install batteries
That might go into the likeable column for gamers who like dumb girls.

All very good reasons and I bolded the specific ones that made me choose her over Doug. I underlined a very good explanation on why we probably care so much, good way of thinking. Number 7 is just an extra bonus that was cool.
About the battery thing, yea I thought that was odd she was confused by it but it didn't deter me about her at all. Sometimes people have stupid moments or sometimes the easiest things just get away from them. Despite this she is still very valuable mostly because she can shoot a gun and had the courage to help strangers. She whooped on some bandits in ep 3, she proved she was very valuable and it sucks that she is gone. She also kept Lee's secret and didn't change her attitude toward him because of it. It shows that she realizes this a different world now and people's past don't necessarily define who they are today. That's what I got out of her personality.
Because not being able to use batteries is a reason to hate her.
"Hey Lee, can you help me with this flashlight-"
"FUCK YOU. Check the batteries this time you stupid bitch! I'm not gonna help you again."
*Carley will remember to rat you out to the rest of the group*
Am I the only one who wishes this was an option for real cuz it made me laugh so fucking hard. I am still laughing. Woulda liked more asshole type choices. like be cruel to ben...kick him spit on him something...would make replay value shoot way way up
Hell if I know, I personally found her the most useless because she wasn't exactly the brightest bulb on the tree. After months of training, anybody can shoot. Even Doug, who hates guns, helped save Lee's ass in Episode 3. And to be quite honest? I thought that keeping her around was dangerous because she knew about Lee's past, and I didn't like that. Even with things the way they've played out... who would go up to a convicted killer with minimal interaction with them and say "Wow you're really cool I won't tell anybody?" ?????? It makes absolutely no sense to me, especially considering that they don't really understand how bad the ZA is at that point. Of course, we know now that keeping her alive is the "better" option because you can fess up to people (read: Kenny), but... meh. I really wish that wasn't the case because I liked Doug better.
IMO Lilly, Katjaa, Christa, and Molly are all better written characters. Their motivations are more realistic to me, and much more palpable. I just can't wrap my head around Carley's sometimes.
Also, I know I may be the only one, but I actually liked Doug better.
Not just you. People keep talking about how selfless Carley is and I'm like "dude, have you even played a walkthrough with Doug?" Sure Doug got a little greedy with the biscuits but yeah.
She wan't very likable to me, because I chose Doug.
However in every male brain, there is that primate from the the plains of Africa, that knows women are more valuable then men, not because of that individual persons personality, just due to the sheer fact women carry the children. They further the species and must be protected at all times. Most men are unconscious of this. It is strict biology and evolution.
That is why men have a bias towards women. The elimination of Doug was on a subconscious level throwing another man under the bus.
Also women also have a bias towards women because of the group mentality that evolved over the centuries where the group of females raised the young, and every other woman could keep their eye on each other.
