Episode 3. All them sad scenes. The game is too emotional and that episode expands the emotional aspect of The Walking Dead.

1 - because I always like the start of a ZA

4 - because it actually FELT like a ZA game.. not just human drama with zombies in the background.

Episode 2 has always been my favorite episode. Everything past Duck and Katjaa's death in episode 3 is great. I won't say I HATE episode 4, it was just my least favorite episode.

    They really are all great.
Episode 1 had the best introduction to the series.
Episode 2 had some amazing action.
Episode 3 was an emotional roller coaster.
Episode 4 was over all longer, even more emotionally draining (Chuck :( ), absolutely packed with action - particularly in Crawford's armoury!

I think I'm going to have to go with Episode 4 :)

    3- :(
    4- Shit hit the fan

    2, 1 , 4, 3

All have been atleast very good. (at best- amazing) Heres to hoping 5 is the strongest.

They're all great but for me it's:
    1.4
    2.3
    3.2
    4.1
Which means I have high hopes for the finale :D
    Don't let me down Telltale.

    2 = 4 > 3 > 1

    imo.

    In my opinion?

    1) Starved For Help- It was the most solid individual episode. Works as a standalone story almost.

    2) A New Day- Also a great standalone. Probably the strongest episode intro of the series.

    3) Long Road Ahead/Around Every Corner- I can't really decide which is better yet so I will say both are at the bottom. This isn't to say they are bad, but I found problems with both. Long Road Ahead had two huge moments, but it had a weak ending and pacing issues. Around Every Corner had a strong finale but it had plot holes and some weaker moments like the burial. It sounds like I might lean to Around Every Corner being the weakest but since it is newer I will think it over more before making a decision.

The problem with that comment, however, is that is what TWD is. It has never been about being a zombie game. Zombie action is fun, but the fact it is a human drama with zombies makes it stand out more to me.

    1. 3. ripped my fucking heart out
    2. 4. some real choices in this episode that made a difference
    3. 1. good introduction to the series, good conclusion
    4. 2. found the whole dairy saga handled pretty clumsily
  • edited October 2012
The dairy saga was neat, but it's the one episode that could have been removed entirely without hurting the plot.

3 was the perfect glue that held the series together imo it showed it wasnt goign to be a fairytale ending, and the reality of the situation they was in by far the best imo, chracters really got fleshed out
  • edited October 2012
For me the third one was the worst. Everybody dying didn't fell right... the last was awesome though.

The one I enjoyed the most was Starved For Help. It was the one that really made me get carried away by my emotions and ignore everything else from the moment you are trapped in the meat locker. I still remember how I felt when I killed Danny, how I went apeshit punching Andy, then the sadness of deciding his fate, then the hardest choice for me in the series, wheter or not to loot the car. That was actually the only time I rewinded to change my choice because I felt so guilty about it.

The rest of the episodes were very good on their own right, but I feel now that Episode 1 was retroactively the weakest, not because it was bad, but because the rest raised the stakes so much higher.

    4,3,1,2...

Nothing much to say. We've all been there. ;)

episode 3 was very emotional, i love it but something else is changing my mind,

    CARLEY NO!!!!!!!!

    3 = 1, 4 > 2

Episode 1 had my favorite scenes/events, and episode 3 was so emotional and brought me to tears a few times. 4 and 2 were both very great, as well. I don't dislike any ep, 2 is my least favorite but I LOVE it.

Well, I have to say episode three and two were the best episodes. I saw a huge connection between the two and can't just -split them- to make a choice here. They were both made me feel things I've never felt before. I also noticed telltale hid a lot of real-life problems in this two episodes, obviously, adapted to a ZA. Telltale did a pretty good job, the music, the story... and pretty much everything. I like all of the episodes do far, Im not saying Ep. 2 & 3 were the best ones, I just liked them better.

I loved episodes 2 and 4 but I enjoyed every single episode thus far.

    1 > 4 > 2 > 3

Good to see so much variety in the ratings and that people value different things from the episodes. 3 was manipulative, and 2 was predictable. 4 had consequences and exploration. 1 was a great intro that set the tone for the series.

ep 4 and 2 were incredible! action and drama!
    ep1 was a perfect introduction!
ep3 only served to make me cry, that's all!

Well, since episode three was supposed to make foufeel depressed... It did a pretty good job, didn't t? I'm not saying you should like it more than the others... It's just that every episode made us feel the way that we were suppose to feel. Anyway, extra points to episode two for the rainy ending :D

like all of them but in episode 4 you learn "sh*t just got real"
  • edited October 2012
Episode 4 is the more balanced in my opinion. Good dialogues, choices, story, characters, exploration, action, a bit of problem solving.

Episode 1 was well balanced too.

Episode 3 was all the way too much emotional and melodramatic, and lacked gameplay.

Episode 2 was predictable and a little bit b-movie oriented.

    4 > 3 > 1 > 2

4: I liked it that your opinions have an influence (okay, we will see in episode 5 if it really influence this chapter but I think so) Also I don't agree with the opinion of many people that all the characters act in such a silly way. Ben is just too young for the acopalypse -> he is no adult and so I can understand his coward actions without hating him. Lee was in panic when he picked up the phone, so he didn't check the thrash. Kenny lost his family -> everyone would act irrational in this situation.
3: I liked the cruelty of this pre-apokalypse world and the dramatic scenes
1: It was just a good intro for this story
2: This chapter was unimportant for the whole story and that something is wrong with the cannibal family was very predictable. Well I don't hate this chapter but it was the weakest in my opinion.

I am suprised by the huge amount of people voting EP3. EP3 was by far the worst in my opinion. EP4 is the best so far. Loved the progression, the choices and most importantly the locations.

In EP3 I absolutely hated the locations. Motor Inn, train and trainstation all tiny, boring and cramped places.

Episode 4 was amazing, 2 was epic with everything leading up to the showdown. 3 was...kind of boring, the only good thing about it was finally getting rid of Duck and getting to shoot him too.

Stop. he ran over shawn cuz shawn had to die...why not make it our groups fault(also as a farmhand he shouldve had duck on the ground....responsibly)
then he talks too much....cuz thats all there is to do, they didnt grab his toys or his comics and no power for games or tv. He was an annoying little boy but he was a little (ok fake digital) boy. All these folks gripping on Clem and Duck need tp remember they are just kids. real life you could keep them close and avoid these things that they go through. It's a game and EVERY character is there to service the plot and move it forward.

Anyway you were glad to shoot him...do you even know what people think of child killers...Definitely dont make you cool. Sorry but i have an annoying little boy of my own and if you said you were glad to shoot him i would gladly shoot you and you would become accidentally Otis'd(tv show style):p

p.s. not mad just saying jeez he was my robin;)

Honestly Episode 3 was really lacking in the game play department. Many of the plot devices were forced on us, we couldnt save Carly we couldn't save katcha from dying in anyway. Story wise it was a great episode, granted a little bit short but still great nonetheless

Long Road Ahead for me. I love the dark turn this episode gets, even though im a Lilly fan I still like this ep the best. Also I like how Lee has a pistol tucked in the back of his pants. Its about time he started packing heat haha. Duck and Kat dying within minutes of each other was emotionally great. Starved For Help is my second pick because it focuses on the living more, and how they are more dangerous then the walkers themselves.

I find they get better with each episode, therefore episode 4 is my favorite so far.

I just liked the amount of variety there was.

I think 1 and 4 are the best so far. 1 is awesome because you can feel the tension building, 4 is awesome because to me it played out more like a movie than just an episode of deaths and depression

    In general? 3 > 1 > 4 > 2 ... although 1 and 4 are pretty close.

Do we know who's writing episode 5? I really hope it's Sean Vanaman, as my choices show. Lol. Not that the other episodes were bad, I just found the episodes he wrote to be superior.
EDIT: I watched the livestream and Gary Whitta confirmed it is Sean Vanaman! Yessssss

Each episode has really amazing moments, though, to be fair.

1 - Choosing whether Irene should kill herself, and the babysitter scene were the best for me.
2 - Punching out Andy and trying to keep Clem from eating Mark. That's probably the scene that freaks me out the most, even more than many of the deaths that Lee can have...
    3 - Duck's death. Enough said.
4 - The whole ending sequence, starting with choosing Ben's fate. That last half hour or so is among the best written sequences of the game so far.

If you judge by the best moments alone, I'd probably say that the order is from newest to oldest. High expectations for the last episode, really hoping that this branching will actually mean something.

    2>4>3>1

Episode 2 had the best atmosphere in my opinion. Best music, dialogues, same false sense of security...
Amazing episode with really breath-taking moments...

Smashing Larry's head or not is still by far the best and most intense moment in the game for me. The only other moment I felt that way was when I realized Lee was bitten.
