I killed him too. Liked the way it was done though, with him willing to sacrifice himself for the good of the others. In that context, I had no qualms about letting him go!

Seriously!? People are pissed that Ben because of the death of Carly? Are gamers in love with Carly?

I guess they wanted to let Ben go when he put Clementine in danger.

I didn't kill him because I blamed him for Carley. I dropped him because I thought taking the time to save him would put the entire rest of the group in danger. It was a "needs of the many vs needs of the few" situation, and I let Ben drop to save the rest of the group. I didn't like doing it, in fact, it felt like I got punched in the gut after he hit the ground. But, with the information I had at the time and with walkers almost to the top of the stairs I really didn't even think he could have been saved.

    I pulled him up

    Lilly shot Carley, not Ben
    Zombies bit Duck, not Ben
    Katjaa shot Katjaa, not Ben

The bandits would have screwed them way earlier without the supplies, if anything, he gave those people longer to live, and besides Lilly never trusted Carley, remember the drugs store from episode one? also she was on edge because of Larry. Anyway, human life is the line for me, even if he did want to go.

I'm glade Carly got shot, she forced you to tell everyone about your passed..even after u saved her in episode one..After all that was going on that was her big concern..As for Ben he was a total fug up. Giving our supplies to the bandits where one thing...but when he removed the axe from the door..I mean come on how much of a meatball is he..Ur telling me he couldn't see all the zombies outside the glass door and what the axe was doing there...

I didn't kill Ben, I never wanted him dead. Yes he f***ed up during the episodes I never thought that you should kill someone for it.

letting him drop would be tooo easy... but yeah, next time he gets "us" in trouble he dies....

I didn't kill him. I was mad at him because he left Clementine in the road, but he's a kid, what much can he do? He was willing to sacrifice himself for the others, and that was enough to convince me he had good intentions, and everything he did, was mostly for the good of the group.

With Carly, sure he screwed up, but he thought they had his friend. I would've probably done the same. Next time they give me an option to kill him, I won't.

I found out he could be saved AFTER my first playthrough. At the time I didn't think it was possible.

I agree with this 100%. You can accuse Ben of being a danger to the group all you want, but the only one who is responsible for Carley/Doug's death is Lilly.

Having said that, I did take the 'Crawford path'. He never should have told Kenny, and I honestly think it was sort of selfish that he did. That coupled with his increasing agitation and incompetence...it was too much for me.

I don't know why people put so much responsability in the kid. He is not responsable for Clementine, period.

If Ben shouldn't be held responsible for abandoning Clementine when they were surrounded by walkers at the beginning of the episode, then Lee shouldn't be held responsible for failing to save him in the bell tower. It is not like he is "killing" Ben by pushing him down the stairs or something, Lee is just choosing not to risk his own life for someone, who up to this point, has screwed up constantly and not done anything of value for the group. Let's also not forget that Ben would almost certainly not have been allowed on the boat the next day, had Clem not been kidnapped, which pretty much would have been a guaranteed death sentence for him anyways. It's easy to assume from a story standpoint that Ben is going to do something heroic to redeem himself in episode 5, but trying to put myself in Lee's shoes, I could only think of how saving Ben might just be the worst possible outcome for the group. Better to allow him to have a heroic death distracting the walkers so the rest of the gang could get away from Crawford safely.

People killed Ben because they liked Carley only because she was a girl.

Ben was a useless character who couldn't pull his own weight. I didn't kill him, I just didn't shoot the walker who yanked him down :P

    l saved him...
he's unless, stupid and coward, but he's still part of my group...
And I don't blame him for the incident on the road.

I didnt wanted him dead nor did I hate him, but when I was holding him and the zombies were coming closer and closer, I just thought I cant risk my life or the life of the others for the sake of him after all hes done, even though it was unintentional, especially with me responsible for Clem. So I dropped him.

Also the group decided before to not take Ben on the boat, so he probably wouldnt have survived alone anyway.

Save/drop Ben is now 62/38%, much closer than I expected!

It does surprise me that more players wanted Ben dead than they did Larry!

Meh, he just wasn't worth the effort or risk of saving after all he pulled. I had a bad enough opinion of him in Ep. 3, but in Ep. 4, aside from being a coward that would've left Clem to the walkers, he made the face-palm award decision of removing the hatchet from the main door which could've easily gotten everybody killed. The kid's a disaster zone and he's always scared me more than the walkers did, when he's around, I was always wondering what his next screw-up would be, but the game just wouldn't let you tell him to leave the group in Ep. 3 or not go to Crawford in Ep. 4, so I settled for the next best option of helping him punch his ticket.
