Ben's death toll

edited October 2012 in The Walking Dead
I mean, seriously...nearly every death that has happened in the past couple of episodes have been one way or another the kid's fault

Carley / Doug
Lilly [as in potentially ruining her best chance to survive]
Kat
Duck
Chuck [Clem would have been the fifth victim if not for him]
Brie
Molly [if you didn't bring Clem and your aim sucks]

He's the most vicious unintentional serial killer I've ever seen! :D

Carley/Doug - Lilly did that... and Lilly had it in for Carley since E1
Lilly - She was doomed by canon
    Kat - I blame Kenny
Duck - Yeah, Ben owns this
Chuck - Ben owns this too.
    Brie - Doomed by lottery
Molly - Molly did not die.

Molly does die if you choose not to bring Clem and have poor aim :D *cough cough*

Lilly might have pulled the trigger...but Ben was the one who set those events into motion.
No deal with bandits = no ultra paranoid angry Lilly , no getting stuck in a jail without ammo and imminent death

No, someone posted all possible options with Molly.

    She does not die.

At least, we do no see her die. At best her status is unknown.

Technically, Molly gets "left behind" and we see no actual evidence of her death. If anyone could get out of that situation though, it'd be her.

    You got that right. :D

I hope Ben doesn't ruin the suicide mission because i have a full house and no one needs to die T.T

I got the one where she gets cut off from me, I'd read here you could mistakenly shoot her as well and leave her to die, seems like the person was lying

You shoot her, but it's a graze - it slows her a bit, but doesn't stop her.

Look in the "how to kill Molly" thread (or whatever the title is) there's a youtube link with all the outcomes.

    Ooh, I see, thanks!

I hope that she makes it and we can get to meet her again somehow at episode 5, or at least hear some bells ringing indicating that she's still alive :P
She could be helping Lee in the shadows by luring the swarm away from him so he can get to Clem, or something!

    Now that's a cool idea. :)

Wait, WHAT? I thought Molly would die no matter what we did. I'll just do my second playthrough and take Clem with me i guess.
  • edited October 2012
Oh sorry i confused Molly with Brie. But nevertheless someone said in one of the posts that if we didnt take Clem she'd get left behind. Well i didnt take Clem and she survived.

    Clem looks up..

    Way to go Clem!!!!!!!!!! (me)

I realize that what Ben did in the beginning of ep 4 didn't help things at all and he played a part in it, but technically, isn't Molly responsible for Chuck's death? I mean, she's the one that rung that bell, which inadvertedly led all the zombies to your group..

I was surprised there wasn't an option to confront her with this after you found chuck dead in the sewer, the moment you made it back to the house I mean.

    She didn't know.

Molly is not to blame for chucks death, Chuck might have been alive when you got to the sewers if he hadn't shot himself, and his body is obviously not in bad shape so zombies didn't surround him because you shooting yourself probably wouldn't stop them from eating you.

So honestly he kind of killed himself.

I guess he got bitten and Lee just didn't check or something, otherwise it makes no sense.

Well, while we could blame Ben for leaving the door unlocked, we could blame Crawford for having imbecile rules that made Anna start the outbreak. If that outbreak never occurred, then Ben wouldn't have got Brie indirectly killed.

Also, no, Molly can't get shot in the head, we were just talking about it in another thread, you might accidentally shoot her, but not kill her, at least, not instantly. If telltale made her live anyways, they must have a good reason to do so. Gary Whitta said that she couldn't get shot in the head, but he didn't confirm her appearing later in game... He didn't want to spoil us, I guess, but now I'm pretty sure she will appear... Or be seen, at least :)

Now,back to Ben... I think it's stupid blaming Ben for everything. He IS stupid, he DID indirectly get half of our group killed, but this is not about blaming other people. I mean, Ben was really depressed after the door "incident", I think he won't screw up things later in episode 5. If we just started blaming people, we could blame everything to the first reanimated people, "WHY did you have to die? Rawwr, you got us all killed", but that's not the point :|

When Lee told Ben to shoot anything or anyone who tried to get in the house a part of me expected this:
"Lee, I did what you wanted.I shot someone, he was shouting and banging on the door, trying to get into the house"
"Well done Ben, I knew I could trust you"
    "I'm sorry,I'm so sorry Lee"
    "Damn it Ben,What is it?"
    "I shot Chuck..."
    "WTF BEN!"

Carley - Lilly was what killed her.
Lilly - her fault for killing carley.
Kat - she wanted to commit suicide, Ben not forced her.
Pato - yes, it was his fault indirectly.
Chuck -. Chuck wanted to sacrifice himself to save us, thank you Chuck.
Brie - yes, it was his fault indirectly.
Molly - it's your fault for not having a good aim.

I'd put money down that Molly didn't die even if you have crappy aim.

Carley/Doug - No matter what Ben did back at the motor inn, there was no justification for Lilly deciding to turn into the groups executioner.
Lilly - the crazy bitch was borderline unhinged after Larrys death. The group was safer without her.
Kat - The bandits would have probably attacked sooner or later even if Ben hadn't been dealing with them. Duck could have got bitten either way. Kat made her own choice to end her life.
Chuck - Ben freaking out when cornered was bad. Was he even armed at the time? Don't recall seeing him holding a gun. Chuck's death was partially Ben's fault.
Brie - This one was Ben's fault, as he removed the axe holding the door closed. It was a stupid move even if Kenny did send him out to find something to bust the door open.
Molly - if you can't aim a gun properly, how is that Ben's fault?

If we assume that Molly did die, Ben let the axe out of the door. If the walkers don't get loose, Molly doesn't get ambushed.

After she tries to go full Super Saiyan and tries to take 3-5 Zombies alone out in melee combat. Lee could just shoot them.
  • edited October 2012
And Ben could have just not let them in...

then it is the fault of Lee and Ben.

But Molly didn't even die... We don't know if she actually died, we can't blame anyone...

Also, the bell rang; that’s what attracted them to walk up the tower.

And Lee's shotgun didn't help at all.
