in the ep4 in the armory , Vernon toke a look from outside and he ask about the railroad why did he ask ?

well there is two possible reasons for that but i'm sure
1- i think he saw a a lot walker came from the railroad the same thing happen in the series in season 2 cuz the train make a loud noise as you know

2-he trying to escape or do you something of the train

It's most likely that he saw a horde of walkers. He wouldn't want to leave, he said the morgue where they were hiding was safe enough, well hidden and with lots of resources... I still can't figure out why they left
