Vernon asking about the railway?

I just replayed the episode and I remember Vernon says something about how you travelled using the railway and when Kenny says, yeah why? He says never mind. Then later on when you go to their safe house you find that the group there has disappeared.

Thoughts? Do you think Vernon and his crew took the train?

That's what I thought,the walkers are probably following them
out of Savannah(not the smartest idea Vernon...)

This will probably mean that the walker threat is a lot less in episode 5.The focus will be on getting Clem back,learning the fate of her parents and Lee's death and final decisions.

I think actually think that vernon saw a whole swarm of walkers from episode 3. I think that swarm followed lee and the group to Savannah and Vernon saw them at the train station and put two and two together. The walkers you refered to farmer I think is the swarm I am talking about.

I agree, and it might be why Vernon and his crew have left by the time Lee reaches the bunker. It would be interesting to have something that involuntarily consequential at such a large scale.

We probably won't see any more of the train (or Vernon and his group [unless they are dead, then the writers would drop them in for sure :P]), I saw it as a 'one-way' story device.

If Vernon saw a herd moving toward town, why did no one else? Especially once he said something about it. I think that the train gave Vernon's group a quick escape but more importantly, that leaves the boat as the sole escape. I think rescuing Clem won't be anywhere near as big an issue as getting her back to the boat before it's overrun, having to deal with Lee's bite and possibly Clem's parents and issues like that along the way back.

He can't have escaped just like that. The haven where they were living was full of food and they had old people carrying them.

Remember how long it took Lee/Kenny to figure out how to start the train? If they didn't leave that sheet on the train, unless you had knowledge about that train, you wouldn't be driving it anywhere.

When Lee went back, all the shelves were empty. So apparently they did exactly that.

Remember the timing. when did vernon ask? He asked while they were in the Bell Tower, when he could have asked earlier. Maybe he wanted the train, maybe he saw the herd. Maybe it was because Crawford was dead. Who knows.

My guess. Vernon wanted the train. Which is why he avoided the question when they asked Why he wanted to know.

I don't know... They had a safe-heaven down there at the morgue, even with an horde in savannah, it was pretty safe from walkers. I don't see how Vernon and a bunch of elders could have made their way to the train, with all those walkers nearby. They could have waited for them to move on, but they would have to stay -with all of their supplies- really close to the train, which would be extremely unsafe.

While escaping the bell tower, everyone but Vernon was backwards to the train, since Vernon could have asked about the train at any time... Really? Do you think he would choose to ask abou the train while escaping an overran neighborhood? I just wonder why Vernon didn't tell you about the horde, however.

Oh right the horde, I didn't even think of that but I feel like someone would notice if he's looking and talking about it at that point. I don't know hopefully they explain that all in episode 5 somehow.

also every time someone wrote Savannah I thought someone was talking to me~ oh the cruelty of having the same name as a zombie infested place.

Isn't there blood in the morgue when Lee and (possible) co get there? Makes me think there was a struggle and that the weakest didn't go with vernon and group. That said, the more I think about it, the more I think that Vernon is just a red herring and that we're all going to be really surprised at the real culprit.

At first I just thought he had seen the horde. But after thinking about it why wouldn't he warn us about it, we were on good standing?

the writer of episode 4 confirmed at the live-stream, that vernon saw the big angry mob of zombies

At the charity live-stream, it was hinted that what Vernon saw was likely the horde of zombies from episode 3.

True, Vernon saw the walkers that were following the train arrive in Savannah, but what happened to Vernon and his group?
Did they leave the city? move into Crawford?
If they took the train and left(if the instructions are still there) wouldnt the horde follow them out?
