Remember when Ben said "It's not the bite that does it"? (Hope for Lee?)

edited October 2012 in The Walking Dead
Could that possibly, in some way mean that there's hope for Lee to survive his bite? I know that Duck was bitten, got sick and turned pretty fast. But does that mean that it's the end for Lee?

Ben said you come back (zombified) no matter how you die. But I'm thinking of other possibilities.

the bite gives saliva which makes the bite 100% deadly

    from what i understand:
deadly virus is in the air but when you die you turn
also if you get bit,the virus in its teeth goes through your blood system and kills you all the way to your brain

The bite doesn't make you a zombie.

    The bite just kills you.

100% fatality rate without immediate amputation.

    Lee - is - going - to - die.

Duck was bitten and he died after little less than a day. The bite isn't what brings you back, but it still kills you.

well it doesnt effect other animals, so if Lee is a cross human-hybrid, he has a chance to live

Here is what Jake said about this topic:

"Dying is what turns you into a zombie. It doesn't matter what you die from... as long as your brain is physically intact when you die, you will come back. So, if something kills you, you will come back.

A zombie bite kills you. You get sick from the infection, it wears your body down and you die. If something kills you, you will come back. A zombie bite kills you, therefore you come back.

One isn't a direct cause of the other ("A zombie bite turns you into a zombie,") but the first half -- the bite -- becomes the cause of the second half -- death, at which point you turn."

Just FYI. I don't want Lee to die either but he did get bit.

Thanx to all ^^^, and I get what everyone is saying. Damn, it's a sad thing. Lee is one of my favorite characters, along with Clem. I also miss Carley, even Larry, and Lilly. Those were some memorable and kool characters. Major props to the voice actors for bringing them to life.

I agree, it sucks. Lee has become one of my favorite horror game characters. But, knowing Lee, he'll most likely go out with a bang... so that's something at least.

Wow, thanx for that bit of info. Poor Lee, and the rest of the folks that died/dies.

Yeah I'm sure he will. A very solid character, an all around kool guy. (sort've, depending on the player lol). Definitely one of my fav horror game characters.

In that context, Ben is talking about how any type of death will make you come back as a walker. But then, Telltale has been great at foreshadowing.

Lee needs to live! He's sooo cool!

$20 says this'll be another dramatic moment like Carley was.

Stop making awesome characters to kill them telltale!

Lol, yeah I was pissed and sad when they killed Carley. Same as with Lee.

Stuff like this happens in the comics all the time. Fan favorite characters get killed off in the middle of nowhere.

The thing is, Carley's death was, to some extent, tolerable. Lee, not so much.

^^ Yeah with Lee, I was seriously SAD. Which is very strange, and not often do i get attached to characters, but this one,..man that was f*cked up. I really wanted an OPTION to not get bit!!

I just re-watched the last few episodes of season 2 of the walking dead (show), I noticed how when rick stabbed shane, he came back zombified pretty damn quick lol. Also went ahead and watched the first episode of season 3,and how they had to quickly amputate Herschel's leg before it spread throughout his body. (The show is looking pretty good so far btw).

Ya for me, it was weird, I kept staring at the screen like "wtf...I'm bit!"
Veeery few times do games make me pause like that.

Short of starting Ep 5 with an amputation, I think Lee is outta here

The virus went airborne, infecting everyone, people started dying all over the worl as people do, but the virus kicked in and they came back to life. They are just flesh eating machines with no pain receptors and theyre brain tells them to keep going until the brain can no longer operate, at which point they die. They are still rotting dead people though. So theyre bites carry a rotting death disease, which kills a person, then the virus wakes them up as the virus, just a mindless flesh eating thing that follows senses. The bodies are not strong.

that's seriously sad :( I wish he would've THOUGHT to chop his arm off as he did that guys leg in episode 2. Although i know he only chopped the leg off to free the guy from the bear trap. Shame, I'm gonna miss Lee.

Indeed. And I love how "most" zombie movies/games/comics follow the same zombie rules :)

Of course. Lee's group has no idea that amputating a limb will save you from the disease. I'm curious to see if this will actually happen in the next episode.

Since this is the last episode, Im sure it wouldnt have been hard to make an ending where he is bitten and one where he is not.

I think everyone's brains are scrambling and try to think of a way around Lee being bit and if there's a way he won't turn, or if it's not actually a bite mark. Sadly we just all need to cope and realize Lee is a lost cause T_T.

Even if Lee's bite was a scratch, in the series it says that even a scratch can kill you. Such a pity!

    If you die you turn
    The bite kills you

    bite=death=zombie
