Lilly can Return!
Kirkman's new book "The Road to Woodbury" contradicts TellTale's version of Lilly.
This means Lilly can make a comeback, if you care. I don't.
I doubt they'll bring her back anyway.

Although, by those standards, in my mind Lilly is dead by now. For me, she was left on the side of the road, alone, at night with walkers everywhere with no weapons or supplies. Lilly might be good, but she's not that good. She's a goner.
The one big sticking point is her father
We of course has Larry in the game.
and we have Everett in the comics.
Yeah but they're some pretty major panels.
By saying that Lilly only appears in a couple of panels, I meant that there was nothing really to contradict. (the father info is from the book) Unless they made her hang around past the time she appears in the comic, not that the game is that long though.^-^
I don't think she'll be back , they wrote Lilly as comic Lilly (agree with Snake Liquid). Even if they hadn't, I don't think she would find us.
I don't recall him saying they "never left the prison", I thought he said he was done with the prison and had moved on.
He also stated he's excited to explore her character too (via RTW)
I wouldn't read too much into a quote that neither confirms, nor denies... it's a non-answer.
Even if she does My Lee needs to let loose on someone, Jeez.... I'd torture her and rape her.
The comic does not show her death, but it's revealed that she and the others had run out of ammo. It is currently unknown what becomes of Lilly or any of the other Woodbury residents.
Creator Robert Kirkman wrote: "I'm not going to say (the Woodbury survivors) were all killed (when their bullets ran out), but it's very unlikely that we'll ever see them again. The prison is dead to me. I've moved on and so have the characters."[1][2]

Technically, you're correct, but the implication is pretty strong that we won't see Lilly again, because Kirkman is pretty much done with her.
Then he wrote RTW - I'm not trying to argue, I'm just suggesting that we shouldn't assume it's set in stone.
Sorry. Figured four and a half years was enough time.
Anyway, while the comic Lilly is probably not the same as the game Lilly anymore, Telltale seems to have written her character with the intention of her being the same as the comic version, so while the new novel had changed the game character's status, Telltale probably had finished writing out her story for this season many months ago.
Also, Lilly gets absolutely no backtory in the comics. All the stuff that contradicts the game is from the novel.
[Comic book spoilers follow]
I can see Lilly making a return. Considering Lori got pregnant during the beginning of the apocalypse and gave birth in approx. 9 months, and we're like 3-4 months in in the game, I feel there is enough time for her to make an appearance.
exactly what ive been saying, even without the novel, its only been TWO DAYS since she left, her traveling to Woodbury three days later (or even a few months later) would have no bearing on the comics whatsoever unless she died
she saw the crew leave
Then again if you take her with you she'll steal the RV
