The Cure
I don't a cure is even possible maybe a vaccine. The scientist guy in the show spent his time fining a cure when you cant cure the dead. The Vaccine basically expose your body to a weakened state of the virus. It wouldnt give you an 100% survival rate but it could help.

That might actually work for the walker bites though, since the "Death through zombie bite" thingy is apparently completely disease based.
A strong immune system in combination with a "new" walker (= less diseases) could help survive a bite without amputation, but it's just unestablished speculation.

If it's supernatural, instead of medical, then there won't be anything "to cure".

The bite activates it. The Vaccine helps your body fights it off just like any other vaccine.
