What did we learn from today's AMC Walking Dead Episode 2

There are a lot of similarities and differences from the tv show to the comic books.

Prisoners
The four original prisoners from the comic books turned out to be 5 in the tv show.
- Rick kills 2 and another one killed another different inmate that was bitten(even though it looked like the walker starched him). Leaving 2 left alive in their own cell block. One is confirmed to be Axel and the Other named is Oscar. Oscar is a completely new character that is not in the comic books.

Hershel
Looks like the tv show decided to take the route of dale where he survive's the leg amputation. It was very interesting and great tv drama by making Hershal heart stop and he comes back alive from Lori's CPR.

Carl
It looks like they made Carl advice in his skills and wits much earlier in the tv show compared to the comics. Carl is not afraid to handle walkers by himself (killing 2 so he claims) and was able to find medical supplies to help save Hershel.

Carroll
It doesn't seem like Carroll has gone crazy in the tv series (or not yet) compared to the comic. She looks to be their new "doctor/nurse" in the group.

Ricks/Lori's Marriage
In the comic book the marriage was fine and not shaky. The t.v. show their marriage is on the rocks.

Lori's Baby
We have no idea how this event is going to turn out.

Next Episode
Michonne/Andrea
The comic books had the airplane crash where Rick/Glenn/Michonne investigates the crash. In the preview of the next episode it seems to appear that only Michonne/Andrea investigates the crash. We see the governor investigates the crash as well and captures them both.

Merle Dixon
We see a sneak peak of Merle will appear in this episode. This suggest that he is probably in woodbury and tells the governor about the other people from Andrea's group therefore the governor looks to find the prison

    Of the two surviving prisoners, one is confirmed to be Axel and the other is named Oscar. I wonder if Oscar is going to be a completely new character or if he's the television version of Dexter or even Tyreese.

    Rick was a total badass. I didn't think he had the nuts to kill that one guy but he did. And in a sick way.

    That whole shit was Hershel was crazy. Laying on top of him, kissing him, giving him mouth-to-mouth. I can't tell if they're brave or stupid.

    I wanted to kill Hershel. If I was there I would have probably tried. It's not like if they got bit they might confess. Take no chances.

    It's still not clear he will make it. I would keep him locked up at night. He goes in the middle of the night everybody is fucked.

    When Lori gave Hershel a CPR I was kinda hoping Kenny is there to throw a saltlick on Hershels head :D lol

    carl seems to have become a badass but we haven't seen much of that so he may be reckless on his own, so i am worried he will do something crazy, some of the characters from the prison seem to have been swapped from the comic and i think that guy rick told to run will come back with a weapon even though we hear him scream, and maybe Merle was watching Carroll from the woods

    Carl kinds of reminds me of Clementine being brave (scene in episode 4 where she goes through the dog door without being asked)

    I don't think he can be called reckless due to that one event, he's the main reason Hershel is still alive and Glenn was out with Carol at the time, IIRC, so who else was he going to ask? We already can guess what Lori's reaction would be.

    I was actually hoping that when Hershel's eyes opened and Lori was still leaning over him after stupidly giving him mouth to mouth that Carl would have fired and killed his mother and Hershel. THAT would have improved the show instantly.

    The girls stuck to Rick for survival but hating him because his son killed their dad.....Rick having to deal with Carl who likely goes nuts after killing his mom and the unborn sibling. But nooo they had to pansy out.

    There's too many unresolved plot lines already. Great ideas but personally I want some closure on other issues
