Guy on the walkie talkie & Clem's parents

edited October 2012 in The Walking Dead
I have a theory. Clementine's parents were in Savannah when the outbreak happened.. Oberson (the leader of Crawford) quarantined Crawford from the rest of the city.. he recruited people that he felt were strong enough to survive the outbreak.. Clem's parents were amongst the people that Oberson recruited.. when the walkers started to take over Crawford Oberson just disappeared out of nowhere. I think Oberson is the one that's been talking to Clementine on the walkie talkie. Why else would somebody have it? What are your thoughts?

I'm pretty sure Oberson was the walker hanged on the bell, the one that grabs Ben, y'know? I think this was confirmed by TTG or by a guy that was messing around with the files, but I'm not sure.

Oberson is the walker hanging from the bell.
He either killed himself when Crawford fell, or his people turned on him and hanged him.

I haven't been reading too much about this game or researching. I just thought it was weird lol. I'm trying to figure out who it is though. My mom thinks it's Hershel on the walkie talkie which could be true also.

I don't think the walkie talkie guy is from Savannah. I think he snuck on the back of the train. And he knows about clems parents because she was fake talking to them when he picked up her signal.

Well how did the person get the walkie talkie in the first place?

But it's also because of his appearance, they look very similar, which is why a lot of people think he's Oberson. But yeah, I'm fairly sure it is. And it can't be Hershel, because he's part of the comics. They (Hershel and his family) have never been to Savannah, and by this time, I think they're all at the prison with Rick.
Personally, I don't think we've met that guy yet, which is why I think it's pretty much impossible to guess who it is.

I think there is a third walkie, owned by clems parents. In episode one she says "I have my walkie, in case they try that way," but at that time Glenn had the other walkie. That might mean, she is hoping fro a call from her parents personel walkie, which they brought with them to Savannah

I think that too. Whoever that's been talking to Clem must have gotten the walkie talkie from her parents. Which is the reason why the guy feels a need to say he has Clem's parents just to keep her talking to him.

Whoever it is sure knows Savannah like the back of his hand to be wandering around watching them without getting caught.

it is an expensive walkie talkie (pointed out by Christa) they have more than one frequency, its not a toy walkie talkie that you buy in a set and even if it was, he may be using radio equipment not a walkie talkie

There'd be no reason for Clem's parents to take the walkie with them to Savannah. It doesn't have that kind of range. Clem makes it clear that she knows her parents can't really contact her on it, she just keeps it for comfort because they used to talk on it all the time at the house (probably when she was up in her tree house).

It is possible that the walkie-man just happened upon the same frequency that Clem is using, but it's also possible (and I think more likely) that the guy somehow got the second walkie from the Motor Inn. There would have been no reason for Glenn to take the second walkie with him to Atlanta either. He probably left it with the group and the walkie-man probably got it from there.

She says they can contact her in the drugstore, while Glenn has the other walkie talkie. She first says its "pretend" when her walkie talkie breaks.

no she explains after it broke that she had been using it to pretend to talk to her parents, if she actually thought she was talking to her parents she would mention it

She dont think she is talking to them. But she knows they can contact her. Until her talkie broke. And then she started pretending, she was talking to them

Yup, I confirmed Oberson is the guy hangin' at the bell here, along with other interesting stuff found in the game files (small ep5 spoilers ahead)

Also, Clem's father has been bitten, so even if her mother still lives it's highly unprobable for his father.

Finally, it's unprobable her mother was with Crawford's crew. I think, IF she lives, she is with Campman in the survivor's camp.

This just bringed something in my head for the ending of episode 5.

There will be a choice on who gets the antidote for the bite: Lee or Clem's father. O_O

Whoever it is sure is an evil SOB. That got confirmed at the end of episode 4. I'm guessing he is someone Lee knows. Someone from his past. Probably connected to the murder Lee got arrested for.

I'm guessing this because what other use would he have for a little girl other than to F--k with lee?

Diana (Clems mum) says he got GRABBED by CRAZY GUY. I don't think it's a walker, it's the walkie talkie guy.

It seems pretty clear that walkie-guy is after Lee, not Clementine. Otherwise, he'd have no reason to contact Lee again.

I'm not sure if the person in the walkie-talkie and and the stalker are one in the same but the stalker looks oddly similar to Oberson based on the photo. Would be an interesting turn of events for episode 5

This is what I am thinking, too. Maybe he is the senator's brother, or something like that.

    No.....?

"Hey, Sandra, this is Diana. We're still in Savannah. Ed had a little 'incident' with some crazy guy near the hotel, so we had to get him back to the ER and have it checked out. Anyway, he's not feeling well enough to drive back tonight, so we're staying an extra day. Thanks so much for looking after Clementine, and I promise we'll be back in time before your spring break!"
—Diana sending a message to Sandra via answer machine."

The following message was her telling clem to call 911. Most likely the crazy guy was a walker, otherwise why would he be in the ER and why would she be so frantic in the next message to call 911 so clem could get to safety? The most likely scenario would be a walker bit Ed (clem's father), went to the ER, and turned.

If the walkie guy attacked Ed, why would he? He would not know about clem, lee would have no connection to the family and is believed to be in jail at the time, yet the walkie guy obviously is after Lee for some reason, not Clem. Otherwise he would have no reason to contact Lee after kidnapping Clem. Clem is leverage for him it seems.

Hmm so the walkie man took Clementine so he could get closer to Lee? This story could end in so many different ways... I haven't played this game I just watch other people play it on YouTube lol.

If Clem's parents are still alive, they would have to have been held hostage all this time, I would think. Otherwise they are godawful parents. For it to have been over three months since the outbreak and they haven't even tried to get home to their eight year old daughter? I don't care what hell is raging on Earth, if something like this happened any real parents wouldn't let anything stand in their way of getting to their child besides death.

If they haven't been captured or something by the radio man this entire time, they better be dead, or I will NOT let them take Clem back. I'll send her with someone in my group.

It's not Hershel. He's a big character in the comic, and I can 100% confirm for your mom it is not him.

Hershel was never one legged in the comic, which is the character that was in the game. You're thinking of TV Hershel.
