Delay Episode 5

This episodic shit is clearly interfering with Telltale doing their best. I've lost saves and had to restart the game 3 times now and I suspect that these deadlines they set for themselves are too soon to polish code or whatever they have to do.

I don't give a shit if it takes another month. These problems are ruining my enjoyment of the game and I'm no longer having any fun. At this rate I'll never get to Episode 4, and to my understanding there's no guarantee that it won't happen again when Episode 5 comes along. And it's not helping that Telltale refuses to make any official word about the issue. It shouldn't be up to the people playing the game to change it's diapers when it misbehaves, and while it pisses me off to no end that there isn't an apology, or even an acknowledgement of anykind, we can all do better here. I'll gladly wait to play this game.

The best solution, what I'm suggesting, is you throw these due dates out the window and give us your best instead of what you could do by a certain date. I want to actually be able to play the game, AND trust that I can return to it safely.

This whole thing is unnecessarily frustrating.

If it makes you feel any better mine works perfectly

Shit ppl just buy it for a system already......

You're right. As a customer, I'm not entitled to a working copy of the game because I bought it for the "wrong" system. Silly me. I'll just buy the game a second time.

But thank god yours works, because you're the only person Telltale is making this game for.
(If you can't tell I'm a little mad about this)

I mean, what're they gonna do? The deadlines are there already. They're public. If they take their time to stamp out as many bugs as possible, which I too would find preferable, they risk pissing off and alienating legions of fans who go into cardiac arrest at the mere mention of a game delay. And if they rush it out to meet the (ill-advised) monthly deadline, the risk for bugs increases. They can't win, which means the people who'd like an acceptable middle ground can't win either.

    It is frustrating, I know.

I've never had this problem. You think maybe you and a select group of people are doing something wrong?

thats my theory. i dont get the memory loss thing. Maybe just maybe, (being serious and kinda joking at the same time ((i hope ppl arent this stupid)) i wonder how many ppl turn the game off when the games circle thing is indicating that its saving? idk if this does anything or not cuz i wait. it always says to wait when you first turn the game on

That's not a cool thing to imply. I have the game bought on the 360 and on Steam, played the game on two computers. On the first computer and on the 360 the game works fine, and on the second computer, I have the save glitch. There was a fix for it that I found in the support forum (that was pretty easy but annoying that you have to do it literally every time you play the game), but I did absolutely nothing different on those two computers, have all the same software and everything. I'm not sure what causes it but I know I didn't do anything to get the glitch on the second computer.

Sorry that you have the glitch too, op. :/ Is it the one where it ignores all saves but the first and has the first permanently stuck at the end of Episode 1?

It could be steam that's the problem. If you use the same steam account on 2 computers that may cause some problems, especially with Steam Cloud.

Mine are PC / Steam related. I've been using the work around of moving files to my Telltale folder but it just never ends with this. It's not like I'm not waiting through the credits or something like that. It wouldn't really be a thing at this point if it was just some guy quitting while the game saved.

What exactly do you people mean by a "system"? Are you talking about consoles?
Is this a problem on other platforms too?

According to the support forums, yes. :/ It does seem like it's mostly a problem with Steam/PC though. That being said, there was a point right after the release where I saw a load of PS3 bug threads, which must be much harder to fix.

While it does seem like most people play the game fine, it's foolish to say that this is a problem that is caused by users.

They should delay episode 5...Until IOS user catch up with the rest

I'm tired of people spoiling upcoming episodes.

I don't want to know what's going to happen at the end until I play the episode myself.

I know is kind if selfish, but it seriously sucks

Its not like Telltale is new to episodic releases. Maybe a longtime fan can correct me here but arent they taking more time with The Walking Dead's episodic releases than they have with any of their other games?

I mean, yeah alot of bugs are comming up with each release but I think Telltale's working their collective asses off on this because its a hot series that theyre excited to be working on and they know the fans are loving it. Theyll get better with time, as they have with the release schdule and I'm sure a patch is not far off.

well then here's a solution for that problem... DON'T GO INTO THOSE THREADS! Don't come onto the forum at all until your download of Episode 5 is released! How about that? is that not hard?

Yes, like their award winning series of non-episodic games known as... wait...

We should delay the Episode so that its longer and better, not because some guy can't fix his saves.

I play on PC, on my first time playing ep 2 I noticed the "Last time on the walking dead" was way off so I restarted the game, and basically I have had to play the entire game from the start after the release of every episode to ensure I am actually playing my save and not some randomized one, that is a little fucked

I never had to mess around with saves. None of my saves were erased. I don't think making a bold statement as if speaking half on the majority is a great idea. Tons of us are eagerly waiting with passing days for new information for the last game.

Not all of us have this same issues. I'm on steam.

You do realize that Telltale's been doing episodic gaming since their second game in 2005, right? Nearly all of their games are episodic; it's one of the things they're known for. The glitch is real, frustrating, and Telltale's fault; but let's not blame the episodic model.

I would suggest backing up your saves before Episode 5 comes out. Telling Telltale to throw their longstanding business model out the window is a ridiculous demand.

why are so many people taking the op seriously with a such a name that is a spam email/advert/popup....?

yes the prob is real no argument there but the op is also contradicting his own statement, he says episodic is bad, and the game is slow to come out yet they want it to be perfect before being released?
