Crawford fell to one doctor? :O

edited November 2012 in The Walking Dead
Hello I played the walking dead episode 4 a while ago and I recently replayed the game and I still am a little baffled at the way Crawford fell. They try to explain this when they are watching the video when the doctor gets stabbed and then there like "Guess we know how Crawford got overrun", but wait one second. Your telling me ONE doctor died and then the town was killed by one walker? The town has survived this long and yet they were overrun by 1 walker? Or did the girl with the gun have something to do with the city being overrun? Anyone care to give their opinion on this topic?

No, one guy died. Became a walker. Bit someone else, that person became a walker. And they bit 2 more people, and those 4 walkers bit 4 more people and those 8 walkers....You can see where I'm going with this.

Of course the girl had something to do with it... I'd guess the way she ran out shooting started a rebellion or something and the people she had shot already became walkers and everything quickly went to shit.

But that's so hard to believe that one walker bit one person and then 2-4-8-16 because the town are made of only survivors that know how to kill walkers. How could 1 spread to the entire town....

and yeah I was assuming something like that, maybe she broke a barricade or starting killing people left and right or something but it's not really clear so I wasn't sure :/

But the walking dead is possible...If a virus was ever that strong. You know if everyones infected and stuff, you wouldn't be able to control the population of that size(Military wise) but crawford was a town of like 150+people right? With tons of guards, that's why I'm like one doctor infect everyone? Or spread the infection? That seems VERY unlikely. The girl ruining everything though sounds very much like what happened or at least the most plausible but I'm not sure :(

The doctor didn't spread the infection. Remember everyone is infected. Anyone the girl shot without destroying the brain came back as a walker, that's why it fell so quickly. Anyone who dies without having their brains destroyed comes back. And as they come back, more people die because of them, and so more people come back as walkers. That's probably why as the ZA starts the number of zombies rises so quickly.

In a survival of the fittest group such as that as soon as things start to look a little shaky things will fall apart.

The woman and the doctor don't have to to take out a lot of people all they have to do is destabilize things enough to where people start to splinter and rebel against the system.

you just have to imagine every possible bad thing that could happen and that is what happened

The woman, Anna Correa, took his gun after she stabbeb him and went postal as soon as she opened the door. It's kind of hard to hear, but in the tape where she kills Logan (the doctor) you can hear several gunshots after she leaves the room. So it's likely that the guards ran into 10-15 walkers instead of just one when they responded.

Ohhhh really? I had no idea I want to see that part again because I couldn't hear that part. If she did then that would explain how everything fell apart especially if she shot guards.

Edit: I just watched it! And yeah I heard banging outside when she ran out the door, it sounded like she was firing running down the hall. oh then that would explain the shells on the ground because she was shooting people as she ran out the door.

    everyone has the disease.
the bite only makes a sickness that kills you.
my theory about the infection is: that the zombie virus is in your brain, you die than comeback.
the zombie virus is all over your blood stream and if you die without destroying the source of the virus (brain) you'll die.
really weird how back then they said that zombies eat brains (but instead eat you alive brain or body)
with this info you can have a better understanding of how crawford fell.
the shooting might have killed them but not the brain

Crawford survived long enough to barricade walkers in several rooms in the school. It wasn't just one doctor.

oh thanks I knew that already lol I know that in the walking dead universe if I shoot someone in the chest and they die. They will get back up as a walker, I know that. I just didn't hear the part when the girl ran out and starting shooting, I guess my volume was too low because all I heard was she ran out oft he room and the doctor collapsed and fell and I was like "What one doctor died and go back up and destroyed the town?" But the shooting had a large part to do with it since she obviously killed people and I'm sure the majority of them stood back up and everything went to hell.

It was probably a massive domino effect that was coated in Murphy's law.

It starts with Anna Correa stabbing Logan and running around blasting anyone in sight. I'm doubtful she was focusing on headshots so each kill she got probably added to the zombie count. At this point Crawford is at the breaking point as noticed by Lee and the others. With a community that tightly found, Correa's shooting spree was just the match that lit the powder-keg. After that it must have been pure anarchy until the survivors fell to the zombies.

The town was so secured though, I imagine no one was expecting walkers to be inside.

Maybe the doctor turned in to a walker and bit someone, then that walker bit someone else etc. Or maybe she shot people during her escape (not in the head) and they died and became walkers. Use your imagination until it winds up with Crawford being overran.

yeah, when you see her run out after stabbing the doctor, you hear gunshots. thats probably a solid 5 walkers at least right there.

Did it ever come to mind that the girl killed many people, turning them into walkers? So it wasn't just the one doctor.

I guess they were off guard due to the fact a walker attacked from the inside outward. Still silly that a community that emphasises on filtering out the weak would still fail to fight back against even a handful of victims.

For such a tattered group as our own, we don't have much trouble with a few zombies. And hordes raise a panic but only occasionally take someone.

You can kind of see what happened, all the clues are there, it's just the order that's interesting.

Clearly the armoury and staircase would have needed to be clear for Oberson to reach the top and hang himself. Which begs the question, who barricaded the armoury after him and why? Is it possible that Crawford turned on Oberson after Correa was dealt with?

Probably. Would take more effort than is worth it to tie any old person to a bell like that. I highly doubt Molly and the pregnant woman were the only people who had suffered loss thanks to Obersons laws.

at least the doc had a piece of molly before he kicked the bucket but he is a arse

I just realised that the dr was still walking around once he was dead, instead of being shot in the head. Obviously Oberson and his crew never regained control once a walker got inside.

    IF it was oberson..

he saw what had become of his utopia and decided to suicide as i said IF.

other than that in a panic they grabbed all the guns they could carry and legged it outta there.

but then why is the door locked / sealed and one zombie in a hi vis jacket at the bottom..

it's a combo of logan being stabbed by anna and her shooting her way out.

if any medics where on scene to help wounded they where probably not aware the casualties where walkers and so got bit them selves.

heck even every 'man' for himself.

of course oberson the wt/campman escaped with some people and are held up some where nearby.
