Personally, I will say Carely's, because it suddenly happened and fast  , I didn't payed attention to Lilly when she was about to grab her gun.

i would say larry was the most shocking but it is close between him and Carley/Doug, and only on my second playthrough (i saved doug and sided with Kenny on my first playthough) with larry i was like "OMG!! i didn't think kenny would do that" but with Carley i was like "they wouldn't (referring to telltale) humm, i guess they would"

gotta go with katjaa, thought she would be stronger than that but she ended up killing herself.

    Carley.

Some of the others seemed telegraphed....

Like Brie... you knew someone would die the moment Ben presented the Axe, and she was at the door. lol

Brie's death was very sudden, but Carley/Doug's death was just totally not expected, I never expected Lilly to shoot Carley without hesitation, and I never knew Doug would just save Ben, and take a bullet for it.

Carley. It happened out of nowhere. I was sitting there going like "wait, what just happened?"
  • edited November 2012
Katjaa I'd say. She never seemed like the suicide type.

Chuck. He was such a fan favorite, that I expected him to last longer.

Doug's death for me. I didn't even see Lilly reaching for her gun, and when Doug looked back and pulled Ben I was all like "wait, what??".

Why isn't Molly in this thread? She could hypothetically die.

she could hypothetically die if you abandon her by the side of the road or after she abandons us by the side of the road

No I mean you can see Molly die if you don't bring clem and then you miss shooting the zombie. She gets overwhelmed by the horde and dies or you can shoot her and she dies. Either way she dies like for sure, I just said Hypothetically because you would need to leave clem behind and miss the shot for her to die but it's very possible as where Lilly could survive forever for all we know.

I choose to save Carley... So it was kinda shocking to see Carley being shot so fast. It suprised me the most.

When Katja said "I love my child more then life itself" I already knew she wouldnt stay long in the game...

There's a difference between surprising and unexpected. Carley dying was expected, the manner was surprising.
Duck was the most unexpected death. I wasn't sure Telltale had the balls to kill off a kid.

yeah, after the duck or shawn thing i thought they had made invincible children, but in the game once we found out he was bitten everything that happened with him i sort of expected

Doug's death was a total shocker. He jumped in front of Ben and took the bullet. I was so shocked that I just couldn't see myself forgiving Lilly and left her behind.

Molly got left behind in my game as I missed the shot, she's survived so long on her own already though so I'm pretty certain she'll be OK!

^ it is unknown how she is but she has been confirmed to appear in episode 5 so she is either alive and will meet up with the group again or is a walker and will try to eat us. If you saved her at crawford then you know shes fine because lee talks to her as she leaves(with the chance of a hug :D)

when has she been confirmed for ep5?

Carley because it happened so quick and everyone was just watching.

Seeing as I had a lot of the game spoilt before I even got it I'd say Brie. Followed by Larry.I thought he'd end up getting screwed over eventually but I didn't think it would be in episode 2. Brie however, was just talking and suddenly it seemed like all of Crawford was taking a piece out of her, though I don't really have a problem with that to be honest...

You never see her dying and you definitely can't kill her.

Most unexpected death is probs Irene... like you find her and your like oh crap! she is bit!
and then she goes for DaT GuN

Doug's as it took me about 1/2 an hour to work out what actually happened
I wasn't even sure who died for about 10 mins
She shot at Ben then something happened and

I still don't know what happened...

I gotta that probably Brie's death was the most unexpected, mostly because no one cared about her. No one was on their toes. It just happened, but I'm sure not many people actually even gave enough of a shit to start suspecting that something will kill her when it did.

While with the other characters, the ones that people actually care about whether they hate or like them, people are always at least on a low level "patrol" mode of something going to hell.

Carley - I liked her and, after her pep talk at the start of episode 3, I thought that there might be a tiny spark of good. My perception of Lee and Carley's relationship prevented me from seeing where the argument with Lilly was going.

Carley's death was the most shocking, but c'mon guys, it wasn't UNEXPECTED. I thought most people saw that it was a loose end that telltale was going to close in episode 3, despite them being well liked characters. I honestly think Katjaa's death was the most unexpected. We're still dealing with Carley/Doug, trying to figure out how to handle Duck, and then... bang.

Are you blind? Molly does NOT die for sure.

Even if you shoot her, after Lee starts shooting the rest of the walkers they will begin to walk towards Lee and you will see her run down where the nurses station is.

Everyone keeps saying: "OMG SHE DIES / SHE GETS LEFT BEHIND" ... no she doesn't ... open your eyes and you will CLEARLY see her run away even if she is shot.

Well, in my opinion, Doug's death was unexpected because he didn't really have much screen time, he didn't do anything particularly important. I was kinda expecting him to have a bigger role on episode 3 or later on. But Lilly had different plans... and I also didn't expect him to die taking a bullet for someone, I thought it was pretty cool he went out like a hero, at least. Oh well :/

I was actually most surprised by Mark's. I know he appeared out of nowhere, but I figured he'd stick around a bit longer even after disappearing in the St. John's house. Once I opened the barn door though, I was like, "Shit...."

I knew Carley/Doug were going to die because of the preview at the end of the episode. It was especially obvious after Lilly reached behind her. I was shocked at how Doug died when I did another playthrough after saving him. I had a funny feeling when Katjaa wouldn't let Kenny shoot Duck. Everything else was pretty expected to me.

"Carley will remember that" um no, she wont =[ after that i kinda expect everyone to die :D

When Doug died, all I had was time to say was "OSHIT!!!!!!" as Lilly went for her gun. It was awkward with everyone in the room.

Duck getting bit(which led to his death) was the most unexpected.

i think the timing of her death was unexpected (especially before duck) but i wondered if she might kill herself or lack the will to live/fight and die because of it, but i didn't expect it to happen when it happened

    Carly-
I was just standing there, trying to calm lily down, then it went in slow motion, the music seemed to stop, we looked at Kenny, the screen behind lily, hands go behind her back. "no no no no NO NO NO" I screamed at the tv. The scream went back to Carly, then… BANG.
    "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" :.(
Then I left lily on the road...... Screw her.

    Larry.

I saw Lilly reach for her gun and knew what was about to happen.

However, I did NOT anticipate Kenny smashing Larry's skull in with a saltlick. D:
