Season 2

edited November 2012 in The Walking Dead
I don't wanna be one of those guys but i'm not saying i don't like the game but i'm reconsidering buying season 2. A part of me just because Lees gonna die but because Lees fells like the brand icon to me :/. Its kind of like Mass effect there making a 4th one but with no relation with the original trilogy no Shepherd etc. And i'm not buying that because no shep no sale. Well if clem will be in it i might but idk anyone think they can change my mind :/

Maybe but that would be a little to cliche. But who knows maybe they would.

Cliché? Oh, you mean like the cliché of the hero having plot armor for the sake of fans.

I think they are saying that it would be too predictable if the main character always died at the end of the season. I agree with them, because the great thing about The Walking Dead is it's unpredictability.

I personally applaud them for having the guts to kill off a beloved character rather than take the safe route. Then again, I enjoy George R.R. Martin's work.

Shepard was an action hero (action heroes shouldn't die) in an epic story that affects the entire universe but they didn't have the guts to make the endings different enough because they wanted to make sequels.

Lee is a normal person in extreme circumstances (he is almost certain to die) in a realistic (minus the zombies) story he isn't gonna save the universe but maybe a few people and not really affect world events, so sequels will work in any story leaving off from the first season

Personally I'm glad that this group's story is likely coming to a close this season. Seeing the same characters in any great degree as someone other than Lee in the next season would just feel wrong, and I've come to like these guys a lot. Whatever happens at the end, I just hope we get some closure. Knowing what happened to the boat, to anyone who stayed at the house, or anyone that gets split up from us during the episode is going to be important to me.
