    I don't know where I shall write this rumors/news:

The NGC Magazin UK made an interview with Lucas Arts about their future projects and plans:
Lucas Arts mentioned that they want to develop for the new Systems Xbox2 and Playstation3.
At the moment they are testing some Prototypes with the development kits and tools.
NGC UK was also asking if any possibility exist, that Lucas Arts will support the new handhelds from Sony and Nintendo.
"Lucas Arts wants to support the PSP and the Nintendo Ds. The abilities of the Nintendo Ds are great and the Developers have many ways to create new games", said Tom Sarris spokesman of Lucas Arts, " Lucas Arts have the chance to revive old classics." After the question "Which projects are planed?", they said they tested already a conversion of Monkey Island 3 for the NintendoDS. "But It is just an experiment phase" stressed Sarris, "Projects could be canceld. We were also discussing, if we shall convert The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2. LeChucks Revenge in the Style of The Curse Of Monkey Island on the PC. But it depends on severel factors. We thought this Games already died, but we got many fanmails about new Adventures. Monkey Island and other Adventures are the perfect genre for the Nintendo DS. Maybe we could realize our old plans and release them on the Nintendo DS . After all we will see The Remakes of the first 3 Monkey Parts on Nintendos new handheld " he laughed. Than the NGC Magazin UK got some demonstrations.
More Information about the visit in the Lucas Arts main studio are going to be print in the next magazin.

    From http://www.computerandvideogames.com/

"Our first port of telephonic call was LucasArts itself, which promptly told us it "does not comment on rumour and speculation."
So we gave Tom East, the editor of NGC, a holler. When we asked him if the magazine was indeed running an interview with LucasArts in which this information was revealed East said, "Not that I'm aware of."

Then we tried Nintendo Official Magazine, just in case N-DS had magazine names mixed up. "It's certainly not us," said NOM editor Tim Street when asked if the new issue of NOM carried these comments."

It'd be great if it was true though, but I doubt it.

Monkey Island 1 & 2 don't need to be remade. They're plenty beautiful enough. And if LucasArts was going to "revive the classics" (which I doubt they will, especially JUST for the Nintendo DS), I would rather have new adventures instead of just polished remakes produced for a quick buck.

I guess there is still a tiny piece of hope of it being Monkey Island...

    Umm. No there's not, really.

    1. For starters, LucasArts have cancelled their last 2 adventures. Do you think there's been a significant marketplace shifty that would make them reconsider the things that caused Sam & Max to be cancelled?

    2. Also LucasArts aren't going to give away their own Intellectual Property. SO the only way Telltale would make a MI game is under license to LucasArts. And then see 1 above.

Also, regarding that Nintendo DS info, Tom Sarris left LucasArts years ago, so it's almost definately a hoax article.

Life is just one long struggle to make a desert into a beach.

    I replied:

Nah, my hair is a different color. I've played all the Monkey Island games though. Do you think there will ever be another Monkey Island game? Maybe from another company besides LucasArts?

    Later

    I don't know, I thought I'd give it a shot. [:">]
